Story time! I work in the industry, and my favorite compliment to give a beer is telling people “oh that beer? I’d never get tired of drinking that beer” So one day SNPA came up in conversation and I told a longtime customer I could drink SNPA everyday and never tire of it. He challenged me to put my money where my mouth was. I happily accepted. I was curious to see if I was right or wrong. I drank a bottle of SNPA everyday for 5 months straight before catching Covid that winter. I got Pneumonia and couldn’t drink beer for a month. When I finally was able to open another bottle of SNPA, the hops nearly broke my tongue! I was terrified Covid had ruined my sense of taste forever. I was limited to lager and hefeweizen for weeks. Opening that next bottle of SNPA was terrifying. I was anxious to say the least. I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to enjoy hoppy beer again. I poured a bottle into glass, took a big gulp, and yelled “IM BACK BABY!!!” It tasted AMAZING, like my first time drink Zombie Dust or Alpine Nelson. I was so relieved. So even though I didn’t get to drink SNPA 365 days in a row, my buddy called the bet off. I can honestly say SNPA is one of the most perfectly balanced beers on planet earth and that’s what makes it so repeatable. Long live Sierra Nevada!
i could definitely drink it every day and not tire either. thats why i love it so much. many other beers i love but i tend to rotate them. i sort of piled up a lot of bottle during covid and id say a good 90% were sierra nevada, the rest were all over the board. another beer thats a good daily driver is paulaner pilsner.
I’ve had a lot of “AHA” moments with beer. I’ll never forget my first green and bourbon county and gueuze but my most memorable and impactful aha moment was having pale ale on tap after a Sierra Nevada tour. It was and is so good
Joe, thanks for that great review! Sierra Nevada is still the original, the best, and the one and the only in the OG craft beer world!! I had my first pale ale back in 1989. I've been drinking it every day since.
its great to see someone besides myself go on and on about how delicious this beer is. its become my favorite beer over the last few years. my first memory of it was trying it at my first restaurant job after the shift about 14 years ago. i remember it being good but was trying all the different beers i could at that time. its come full circle and at the end if the day its wild to know my favorite beer for now was one of the first i was exposed to.
Living in NorCal, SNPA was literally the definition of non-macro growing up. ("Craft" wasn't really a buzzword that I was aware of) So since I always looked down on AAL, I always got SNPA at bars or grocery stores. I didn't hate it when I first tried it, but I do admit that it took a few times before I started to enjoy the hoppy taste. I will never be disappointed in drinking one of these!
@@jsenigaglia Awesome! I'm sure you know, but make sure you pick up your pint of Blind Pig or Pliny at Public House - I believe you can walk into the stadium with it thru Public House's entrance!
This is one of my favorites of all time. Approachable and enjoyable as your first step into the more hoppy/craft world, and still totally respectable and satisfying for any seasoned IPA snob. Call it perfect, and I won’t really disagree. Lol.
Thanks for sharing your memories of SN pale ale! Enjoying one during your review! I agree with all you said. I have heard numerous times of people getting into brewing after being inspired by this very same ale!
My first time trying this beer after trying my first Sierra Nevada product which ended up being the Atomic Torpedo IPA. I'm very pleased with the Pale Ale though, it keeps the pleasant notes and tastes of the Torpedo without being overwhelming, as it's almost 3% less alcohol. It tastes great and you gave a great review sir. P.S. Love that in every video I've seen from you, there's a classic WWF Wrestling match going on in the background, Mankind vs Owen Hart is a great match!
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a desert island beer for me. So much flavor in a low ABV format and can be enjoyed any time of the year. The epitome of timeless classic 🍻 And yessir, you’ll always see old school WWF around these parts 😎🍻
Man i have had so much fun watching your videos the last few days. im actually quarantined with Covid and have been going thru your channel. theres several beers i now want to try. thanks for the enjoyment! 🍻
Hope you’re feeling okay! I had Covid back in August and it was gnarly for the first 3 days. I appreciate you checking out the videos! Get well soon!! 🍻🍻
They even sell it here in the UK in Tescos. I have 5 chilling in my fridge atm. I was in Orlando 6 years ago and it was my go to beer there getting it in the supermarkets. Wasn’t keen on the weak and tasteless Buds. Excellent head retention and lacing - a sign of a great quality beer. 🍺

Such a great friggin beer. And I completely agree with the aroma note of "classic"! My buddy and I had picked up their Hoppy Sampler 12 pack a bit ago that contained the Pale Ale, Torpedo Extra, Dankful West Coast IPA and Atomic Torpedo. Every one of those were a joy to drink. Cheers 🍻
Been watching your reviews of the Macro brews like Miller Lite, Bud Light etc. All were spot on. I've never been able to drink more then one six pack of the stuff in a lame attempt to watch my weight. I'd rather drink a fresh bottle of ice cold spring water. So at 70 years old after trying just about every beer that ever has been produced foreign and domestic You Tube started sending me reviews to watch on Sierra Nevada Pale Ale I believed based on a comment I made to you about liking Switchback Ale from VT. I've seen this beer on the shelves for 40 + years and never tried it. So last trip to the local Packie I found a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada in Cans... No six pack bottle there. Your review and other said it's a classic, and I have to agree. One of the most refreshing brews I've tasted. I am only a few miles from Tree House in Charlton, have spent many hours in lines when they first opened. That fad wore off for me. Being able to buy reasonably priced tasty beer sold at any Liquor Store is a plus. So thank you for this review.... and the YT algorithms.
Love that you love this beer! SNPA is a timeless beer, one that can be drank year round in any weather, can age gracefully, and never disappoints. So stoked you finally tried it!!
I agree with the dales comparison and the sweetness, I love dales in Colorado because I think the sweetness goes with the cold weather better. But for California weather Sierra Nevada all day.
Sierra Nevada Pale is good, Torpedo is really tasty. Interesting to see your emotions for this beer. I feel the same way with Deschutes Brewing Mirror Pond Pale Ale. I got into the beer scene a bit late. Used to drink than just quit and saw all this craft crap going on decided to try it. Mirror Pond is like what you are describing. Very fresh and bright. Also love how the hop oil or resin tends to coat your lips. If you have not had it get some. I think it might be in your wheelhouse. Cheers!
I got to hang out at Deschutes about 6 years ago and sitting in their taproom drinking Mirror Pond and Fresh Squeezed was such a great experience. I need to revisit Mirror Pond. It’s been too long 🍻🍻
