I love all the songs on "So Much (For) Stardust" though, such a banger album.
Surprised there were unreleased tracks from Meteora considering how incredibly short that album was. But I remember how effective their online marketing was ramping up to that release. Pre-UA-cam but they did a good job of dropping little videos working in the studio every week or two hyping the release, and did a great job of using art, video, and prose to hit their core audience. Though I was older than that audience, I remember picking up my copy of the special edition and waiting in an unusually long line at the Tower Records behind a ton of older teens and young adults buying their CDs. That was like, so 2003.

I love these. It just goes to show you that when you do the top 10 pop songs you usually only have good things to say about 1 or 2 songs, but virtually every rock song is well written and unique as opposed to the pop songs that borrow from rock and repeat the same borrowed chords over and over again. Also, props to rock fans out there for being discerning enough to make these the top 10.
Thing about rock bands is that all members of a band want to do fun things, having the same simple chord/line/beat in 10 songs is simply not fun for a musician. In pop is simply just 1 person, it's all about the vocalist so everything else will simply be rudimentary
I grew up a 70's and 80's "Metal Head". I don't listen to much newer rock anymore, but I was really impressed with some of these bands putting out a fresh sound. Especially Greta Van Fleet.
@@ElchivoBerrinches11 Led Zep just copied blues / r&b musicians and put their own spin on it. They were copiers and ripoff artists themselves. And to use your own arguing point against you - they're a 50 year old band, which means that the vast majority of millenials and Zoomers have never heard of them nor listened to their music, so a band that sounds like Led Zep is fresh and new to their ears. Something else also needs to be said: George Lucas is a huge fan of Akira Kurosawa and the films he made, and used Kurosawa's work (and a lot of other influences like adventure and sci-fi serials from the 30s) as a blueprint for Star Wars. Sergio Leone was also greatly inspired by Kurosawa, to the extent where A Fistful of Dollars was a direct ripoff of Kurosawa's Yojimbo. Quentin Tarantino is the biggest ripoff artist in hollywood, and he would probably admit that himself; every one of his films is an homage to other films or whole genres in general. There's nothing wrong with the idea of coming up with an artistic creation that is an homage or tribute to an earlier piece of art.
Rick, thank you SO much for doing this!!!! You have opened my ears to some NEW MUSIC! To be honest, I have been unaware of most of these bands because I stay away from most new music sources these days-so much of it just hurts my ears, but these are some really good Rock & Roll tunes… I’m going to go re-educate myself and maybe find some new music to expand my pallet. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do more detailed breakdowns of these newer bands and tell us more!!! I love your commentary!
Check out Royal Blood, a hard rock/alternative rock duo from UK. Only bass and drums, no guitars on the band. Listen to their debut album from 2014, excellent album.
Definitely got to say this is Rick's first Spotify list that didn't completely auck. No great or original songs and most sound like over compressed over processed mush, but they are at least something worth hearing.
These songs are NOT good. Here, listen to these bands...OVLOV, Warpaint (early stuff), Crescendo, Swell, Songs: Ohia, Goon Sax. Start here. There is so much better stuff out there that are not in the "top" whatever playlists these music services feed you.
GVF is blast of fresh air from an unopened bottle from the 70's. Personally I think the singer sounds exactly like Frank DiMino from Angel. But a couple other guys too. I would love to see you give them some love. A breakdown of Highway Song or Flower Power would be awesome.
@@bloodromance4776 You never gave GVF latest work a real evaluation. They obviously have.influences but are getting more complex lately with intense work now, especially in concert. Rock is not dead; you just have to look harder in this age of free music, autotune, and now AI garbage. Excellent bands now have difficult hurdles to jump to get financial and musical freedom. Even Rush and Led Zeppelin had their own serious hurdles and bogus critics before becoming the epic bands that was to come.
The new Fall Out Boy record actually surprised me. tons of great riffs and cool parts, the lyrics are great as always, but it was nice to hear them do something more guitar oriented after their recent albums.
Rick, I am 54 years old so I've been listening to rock music for ages. You should check out more stuff from Nothing but Thieves. Literally one of my favorite bands of all time. I still haven't heard a single song from them that isn't great.
I hope that now Nothing But Thieves are on Rick’s radar that he has a look at their back catalogue - Itch, Amsterdam, If I Get High, Impossible and Can you afford to be an individual are some of their best work
Sounds like the rock list is so much more creative and pushing the envelope than the pop list. So many interesting harmonic progressions and clever production techniques
I love that some of these have Rick stumped. Such a contrast to hearing the same four chords on the pop chart and watching him play along within 2 bars.
I caught Nothing But Thives live at a festival two weeks ago. His vocals were phenomenal. As for the rock, they had more guitar and were heavier than any other band on the line up, except Denzel Curry, which was weird.
@@KINGH4L0 Yeah. Like, there's something about it feels so fresh and genuine. It's sorta tribute to the 2000s PPR, but somehow still manages to pull out the "new" sound to the table unlike other tracks in the video (imo).
The Nothing but Thieves track (so many other awesome songs in their catalog btw) and the Paramore track are the best of these and its great to see them recognized in the charts. Both of those band are big trendsetters and always pushing the boundaries of their genre
I love how I just listened to the Playlist while working and added all the songs in the video to my own playlists. Now I've watched the video and immediately recognized all the songs. Makes me happy for some reason that Rick liked them too
First time in years I'm not disappointed with these Spotify lists. Last time you did this video I didn't recognize most of those "rock" songs as rock, but this time I hear really cool songs. Great video as always!
astounding how you can just jump in and play along instantly! some of those chords would take me days to figure out! and the tone of the gtr & amp your using blends in so well with each track...it sounds like you could just track right in along with the bands! Very cool review!
These songs have basic chords. Most of the progressions are basic to intermediate. It's what they're doing with them and the energy, plus the production, that makes it all stand out.
Honestly speaking, I'm pretty sure Rick has a great ear and all but I'm certain he does listen to these songs before the videos. I mean he wouldn't just jump on the camera and decide to do this video. He knows the songs before hand most definitely.
I’m happy to see Foo Fighters and Linkin Park in the top ten again together! Honestly thought every track played had some cool things going on. Rick, I would love to hear your take on the newest Avenged Sevenfold single “We Love You” is the title. It’s a wild ride.
Paramore's newest abum is fantastic. Running Out of Time is really good, yet many songs on the album are better imho. Would love to see Rick react to the whole thing.
Best top 10 you've done in forever. Lot's of good songs dropping from bands that were playing arenas when we were college aged/young adults, Rick. Frontiers music seems to be making moves in that space. Any thoughts on the handful of bands of that era still putting out fresh and quality material?
In 1982 I bought a single called "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode. 2023 they still keep doing it again. I wonder if any of these other bands could last around as long as the boys from Basildon?
Wow! Greta Van Fleet! I’m 61, and my 23 year old son turned me on to them a couple years ago! I had turned him on to Rush, Triumph, Zep…, when he was younger. Josh Kiszka sounds like a cross between Rik Emmett and Geddy Lee. Paramore is another great band! Haley sounds a little like Sheryl Crow on that song. And of course Fall Out Boy and Foo Fighters are still kicking ass. Even the bands I don’t recognize are kicking ass! RIP, Chester from Linkin Park.
This GVF song is epic in so many ways. The great build up to the explosive drums and guitar leads all being decorated by the singers trills and fills. Such as damn good song.
im not a fan, just sounds like too much reverb and like it was recorded really cheaply if you get me. Can see how people like them but im really not a fan- i really like zeppelin though
Rick, about halfway through the video you say, "Wow, all these songs so far are really interesting." Agree 100%, and I'm shocked, I never listen to new rock music anymore, other than at work.
Now, this is a better top 10 list! To start off with, Greta Van Fleet is awesome. They are a great rock band, and of course, you know that Depeche Mode is a great band. That Pierced The Veil was good as well. This top 10 has given me hope for the future of music.
The Rush album does feel more like that, partially. And Mamma Mia is so Franz. The bassist is an utter Idols fan, so you have a bit of that. And the drummer lives Sade and what the call eclectic, and the Singer loves James Arthur I think. Last album they found a happy medium, but with Rush, each member got to influence different songs.
I believe Rick's doing a mixing contest broadcast tomorrow (May 12) with David Bendeth and The Warning. I'm surprised Rick hasn't featured them yet because they have a throwback, Classic Rock element to their own fresh style.
Wow! Actual songs on the top ten! Very cool! Hopefully people are becoming inspired again. Very cool progressions and the lyrics/melodies seem interesting too!
These songs are great, what a difference to the top 10 songs on spotify/itunes etc. I am going to be downloading all these and checking out their albums
Hayley Williams' 2 solo albums were works of art. It definitely set the precedent for the new Paramore sound(especially since Taylor York also produced a lot of it)
Seriously, I knew Paramore existed but they were never really on my radar until This Is Why came out this year. I'm now diving into the back catalogue and I'm surprised how much I'm digging them.
I have the opposite experience haha. I’ve been a fan for many years and even tho there are a few bangers on this is why, I don’t think it’s a great album overall (probably because the songs are very similar to each other)
Dude, same, my girlfriend is a long time fan and i was never into emo/pop punk/pop rock stuff, but damn this new album they're different and sound so much more mature, great grooves, i loved it!
theyre an interesting band since they hit it so young, so theyre still young for all intents and purposes and have plenty of creative fuel/potential ahead of them. Also a true blue band that sounds like a group that really plays together
Fun fact: Måneskin is danish for moon light (the basist in the band has a danish mother). I really like their sound! And that song from Pierce The Veil really sounded like a Jimmy Eat World song in the beginning :)
Paramore is constantly one of the most underrated American bands out there. Always coming up with fresh, new sounds that are put together into great songs. A lot of the best rock sound I've found lately has come out of Japan. They're putting out such good rock and metal stuff right now. Bandmaid has used UA-cam to grow and touring America right now. Worth checking out a show.
I agree with the Nothing But Thieves reaction (as someone who's a fan of their music) it does give off 80s like maybe disco rock vibes kinda similar to Daft Punk
This was such a fun video to watch and was especially nice to see Rick giving love to Lost by Linkin Park given what the song means for the band. Rick, you should absolutely review Paramore's This is Why! A fantastic album, easily one of the best of the year and in years
I really believe Nothing But Thieves has been one of the most underrated bands out there for the last 5 years Also, that PTV album is really good. Love that Rick was feeling them both.
Underrated or lesser-known? They aren't the same thing. Underrated implies most people have a low opinion of them, as opposed to having NO opinion due to not having heard of them.
i recommend (to Rick, and everyone else) to check out Thick Skull from Paramore's latest album. there's something about it that makes me so... emotional about that song. Hayley's vocal delivery, Zac's time signature on the drums, Taylor's frustrating and rough guitar.... the climax leading up to the final chorus is incredibly powerful too!

Always love a top 10 where Rick actually likes most of the songs
indeed
Rick is ALWAYS spot on.👍🎸🎶💯🔥♥️
That greta van fleet song is pretty awesome for an opener...
All the song sucks, every voice is so high pitched and gay, it sounds like a squelling kid.
They aren’t bad pop songs, but they don’t rock even by 2000s standards
Surprised there were unreleased tracks from Meteora considering how incredibly short that album was. But I remember how effective their online marketing was ramping up to that release. Pre-UA-cam but they did a good job of dropping little videos working in the studio every week or two hyping the release, and did a great job of using art, video, and prose to hit their core audience. Though I was older than that audience, I remember picking up my copy of the special edition and waiting in an unusually long line at the Tower Records behind a ton of older teens and young adults buying their CDs. That was like, so 2003.
All the song sucks, every voice is so high pitched and gay, it sounds like a squelling kid.
Saw an interview where Shinoda said most albums had at least 30 songs recorded/partially recorded and then they narrowed it down for the final cut
Amazing that unreleased demos from 20 years ago are better than pretty much any new music these days
They cut it from the album because they thought it sounded too much like numb
Lost is such a great song. I am surprised it didn't make the original version of Meteora.
Not gonna lie, all these songs sound even better with Rick emphasising the key elements. His Top 10s are always cool to watch.
Often when I can't get into certain music, all it takes is someone like Rick to point out something interesting about it & that get's me hooked
@@liamjenkins244 Yy, and brian May said the same thing in an interview. He appreciated Comfortably Numb more when Rick explained some parts of the song in a video.
I learn so much just from listening to his takes on these songs.
I've listened to the whole "Rush!" album from Måneskin probably 15 times since this video came out. It's really great.
teatro d’ira is better tbh rush is still good tho
@thegraveyardshift3251 teatro d'ira was before the become famous. It's grea rush, but the old one was better.
Imo opinion they need more distorsion and make song with lower tunes
A massive maneskin fan and so true! Although teatro d'ira was probably better doesnt mean RUSH hasnt blown me away just as much
try il ballo della vita and teatro d'ira too! they're absolute masterpieces, and I wish Rick could review them honestly.
No rock album has gotten me as excited in years as the latest Paramore, their sound is so fresh and original that they deserve to be recognized as bold and talented musicians 👏🏼
I think they are best band in the world right now. Self Titled, after laughter, now this album? Incredible run.
@@collectibleasmr 100% agree. It was my least favourite for over a month. Saw them live and it changed the album for me. Let me know if it grows on you. But I understand if it doesn't. AF is still their best for me.
In your opinion
All the song sucks, every voice is so high pitched and gay, it sounds like a squelling kid.
@@JG-gd3px the best band in the world???? jajajaja so inocent
All the song sucks, every voice is so high pitched and gay, it sounds like a squelling kid.
Thing about rock bands is that all members of a band want to do fun things, having the same simple chord/line/beat in 10 songs is simply not fun for a musician.
In pop is simply just 1 person, it's all about the vocalist so everything else will simply be rudimentary
nice to hear you reacting to good music for a change - love the positivity and love hearing these new rock songs too - great work :)
@TheFallenFaith As Picasso supposedly said, "Good artists copy, great artists steal.”
@@ordinarryalienyes fresh, finally some blues after 35 years of unintelligent, uninspired alternative and indie rock
Listen to their debut album from 2014, excellent album.
exactly my reaction . i was a bit surprised to hear such good music these days . Rick you are the best 😉👌
Definitely got to say this is Rick's first Spotify list that didn't completely auck.
No great or original songs and most sound like over compressed over processed mush, but they are at least something worth hearing.
Try to listening to some Greta van Fleet stuff :), they gave me hope in modern music hahahaha
These songs are NOT good. Here, listen to these bands...OVLOV, Warpaint (early stuff), Crescendo, Swell, Songs: Ohia, Goon Sax. Start here. There is so much better stuff out there that are not in the "top" whatever playlists these music services feed you.
Always been a Nothing But Thieves fan but havent listened to the new tracks yet. I'm glad to see they're getting the recognition they deserve.
Love them too...Happy to see them here!
The live version of Lover Please Stay will always have a special place in my heart.
I thought the first two albums were fantastic but they kind of fell off after that for me personally
Reminds me of Weeknd`s "Sacrifice"
@@markomba absolutely! Was my first thought as well.
GVF is blast of fresh air from an unopened bottle from the 70's. Personally I think the singer sounds exactly like Frank DiMino from Angel. But a couple other guys too. I would love to see you give them some love. A breakdown of Highway Song or Flower Power would be awesome.
That angelic being from Greta is such a gift. From his absolute beauty to supranational voice, I'm here for it and grateful at 53!
Clearly Rick is much happier with the rock top ten than the pop top ten. And why wouldn’t he be? The man has taste!
Well, when some cliche band like Greta Van fleet release new music this just remind me that ROCK IS DEAD
@@bloodromance4776 it's only dead to you because you're dead
...and ears. lol...I have NO IDEA how/why people listen to some of the absolute trash in the pop list.
@@bloodromance4776 speaking of cliches …….
The new Fall Out Boy record actually surprised me. tons of great riffs and cool parts, the lyrics are great as always, but it was nice to hear them do something more guitar oriented after their recent albums.
Interesting form. It throws their style back to their earlier stuff... Before the pop vibe took over and lessened their appeal (certainly for me)
Fall Out Boy? More like Boy Fell Off lmao
Anyway dumb jokes out of the way, I wasn't a big fan of their stuff after they changed their sound.
Yeah, I didn't know they had released a new album and I'm super excited to see them play guitars more often again
@@melvinowesyounothingI enjoy their more poppy work too but not nearly as much as their earlier, rockier sound.
Not really a fan of theirs, but this song sounded awesome. Gonna listen to the whole album alright.
Rick, I am 54 years old so I've been listening to rock music for ages. You should check out more stuff from Nothing but Thieves. Literally one of my favorite bands of all time. I still haven't heard a single song from them that isn't great.
Agree, 'Neon Brother' might be my fav
Yes, absolutely agree. One of the world’s hidden treasures!!
But that is not even rock. :D
the song he showed sounds exactly like another song, specifically sacrifice by the weeknd
I think you're giving the pop songs too much credit.
Especially the Paramore track! Rick didn’t know where to jump in because it kept moving in interesting ways
I caught Nothing But Thives live at a festival two weeks ago.
His vocals were phenomenal.
As for the rock, they had more guitar and were heavier than any other band on the line up, except Denzel Curry, which was weird.
GVF is killing it. Their successive l.p.’s show their maturation and love for straight ahead rock ‘n roll.
Band maturation blows. Gimme them punk/garage style riffs all day
🤮
"Running Out Of Time" is the highlight for me.
That whole record is kick-ass. You should check it out
I agree. The rest was basically too much chaos to me.
@@TheSirenSeeker I'll make sure to hit them up sometimes!
@@KINGH4L0 Yeah. Like, there's something about it feels so fresh and genuine. It's sorta tribute to the 2000s PPR, but somehow still manages to pull out the "new" sound to the table unlike other tracks in the video (imo).
Same, the rest ranged from okay to pretty forgettable
The Nothing but Thieves track (so many other awesome songs in their catalog btw) and the Paramore track are the best of these and its great to see them recognized in the charts. Both of those band are big trendsetters and always pushing the boundaries of their genre
i agree 100% those two stand out the rest were like eh yeah we heard that before great job copycat
Glad to see that Lost by Linkin Park is still up there. It's been out for a while but still hits just as hard as day 1.
I love how I just listened to the Playlist while working and added all the songs in the video to my own playlists. Now I've watched the video and immediately recognized all the songs. Makes me happy for some reason that Rick liked them too
I love seeing your enjoyment and enthusiasm for All music. I’ve been a subscriber since 43K and you never cease to amaze me!
Orange sounds unreal I agree.
Honestly that’s part of the reason I love listening to Rick and watching his videos.
Both bands are trash, although Grohl at least gave us Probot.
@@stevenhenry5267lmao no way

Paramore's newest abum is fantastic. Running Out of Time is really good, yet many songs on the album are better imho. Would love to see Rick react to the whole thing.
Huge comeback of the FLANGER Pedal, heared it on every song there
Cool songs. I love when you do these Rick. So fun to watch you react and break the songs down.
I love watching you be thrilled by songs. You give such happiness when you dig something.
Wow. I can't believe how good so many of these songs are - wasn't expecting that.
Rick 'struggling' with the chords of the Greta van Fleet song is like the sighting of a Big Foot ;)
FOB and Paramore's latest albums have been my favorites this year so far. Really solid top 10.
When lost was officially put into an album i cant describe how happy i was rip chester you where and still are my hero
Best top 10 you've done in forever. Lot's of good songs dropping from bands that were playing arenas when we were college aged/young adults, Rick. Frontiers music seems to be making moves in that space. Any thoughts on the handful of bands of that era still putting out fresh and quality material?
Also, that Paramore song could have be a Police/Sting composition.
The paramore record was so good. I’d love to hear a what makes this song great about “this is why”
All of the B-sides are incredible. I think that they're stronger than most of the singles.
@@ralelunar oh cool I didn’t even know B-sides were out
imagining your profile picture discussing the new paramore album is killing me
Don’t sleep on Running Out of Time, You First, & Figure 8!
That song in this video sounds like something Polyphia would write. Really cool stuff
"Rescued" is such a classic Foos song. Glad to see them carrying on and making good music.
Yeah, it sounds like something from "In Your Honor" album
I very much agree it sounds amazing
came back to this video because i loved how rick loves the top 10
Have to agree about Paramore. They're a great band that could do well in any era
In 1982 I bought a single called "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode. 2023 they still keep doing it again. I wonder if any of these other bands could last around as long as the boys from Basildon?
This is the best popular music channel there is for musicians and music fans alike. I always look forward to the latest videos. Great stuff Rick.
Having been around since the early 50's I have listened to the birth and death of rock and roll music and music in general with very few exceptions.
Paramore - I was also thinking Edie Brickell

Ah ha! New Bohemians!
Yep, I agree! 🤙
This GVF song is epic in so many ways. The great build up to the explosive drums and guitar leads all being decorated by the singers trills and fills. Such as damn good song.
GVF is a band that continues to give us all the old music that did not get released in its own time.
It sounds very Led Zepplin to me, good stuff
im not a fan, just sounds like too much reverb and like it was recorded really cheaply if you get me. Can see how people like them but im really not a fan- i really like zeppelin though
Its an awesome song, I personally feel like they're growing more and more into their own sound.
I stay away, Alice in Chains. I was just "I heard this song before and it is great."
That GVF song is epic. The guitar sound reminds me of Bron-Yr-Aur
Rick, about halfway through the video you say, "Wow, all these songs so far are really interesting." Agree 100%, and I'm shocked, I never listen to new rock music anymore, other than at work.
So refreshing and exciting to see a top ten were Rick actually likes all the songs and is genuinely surprised impressed and interested. Great watch.
I don’t think anything has made me happier than hearing Rick say he loves a Pierce the Veil song 🥹😭😭
My emo heart smiled
Now, this is a better top 10 list! To start off with, Greta Van Fleet is awesome. They are a great rock band, and of course, you know that Depeche Mode is a great band. That Pierced The Veil was good as well. This top 10 has given me hope for the future of music.
Please do more rock album charts. Almost all of the songs you reviewed on this video are banging and made it to my own playlist.
Loved the Gretta song... Foo Fighters sounded huge, very nice. Great Job Rick
That Maneskin song reminds me so much of mid 2000s rock like Franz Ferdinand and Nine Black Alps. Good stuff.
I love how willing Maneskin is to put their bass parts up front in the mix. So many bands bury it behind guitars. Reminds me a little of Talking Heads
I've see Maneskin on late night talk shows at least twice, if not three times, and have been very impressed.
I could see the “hope restored in rock music” building in Rick’s face with every song. Ya love to see it!!
Especially after the bleakness of the last visit to the top 10 pop tracks
I believe Rick's doing a mixing contest broadcast tomorrow (May 12) with David Bendeth and The Warning. I'm surprised Rick hasn't featured them yet because they have a throwback, Classic Rock element to their own fresh style.
Better than i expected. Thank you for keeping us up to date!
No one beats Rick for enthusiasm. It's not fake or rehearsed. The man just loves music
He's not a genre snob
Minha parada preferida no Rick é isso mesmo: a paixão e o entusiasmo dele pela música. Me identifico muito
Greta Van Fleet vocals sounds like Jon Anderson and Geddy Lee mixed in one! Love the song!
He sounds like Demis Roussos in his prime!
Wow! Actual songs on the top ten! Very cool! Hopefully people are becoming inspired again. Very cool progressions and the lyrics/melodies seem interesting too!

What an ELEGANT guitar!
Very interesting list. For Maneskin, check out their song Sip The Gossip. Tom Morrello is guest guitarist on that song.
When I hear "Meeting the Master", it's so Aphodites Child "The Four Horsemen". I absolutely love it.
These songs are great, what a difference to the top 10 songs on spotify/itunes etc. I am going to be downloading all these and checking out their albums
Hayley Williams' 2 solo albums were works of art. It definitely set the precedent for the new Paramore sound(especially since Taylor York also produced a lot of it)
I have watched Hayley's "tiny desk" video on UA-cam a million times. She is just incredible!
that paramore album is very very good. was never a fan of paramore prior, but this album made me reconsider that.
Seriously, I knew Paramore existed but they were never really on my radar until This Is Why came out this year. I'm now diving into the back catalogue and I'm surprised how much I'm digging them.
@@DazzleRebel I've been a fan since I was a kid, but the last two albums have been a huge step for them imo
Rock is more creative and there's more variety than the pop charts. New acts are a lot less popular, but they're doing good work.
Im just so happy that GVF are getting bigger and bigger, with more quality than ever.
Fun fact: Måneskin is danish for moon light (the basist in the band has a danish mother). I really like their sound! And that song from Pierce The Veil really sounded like a Jimmy Eat World song in the beginning :)
-And it is pronounced mon-e-skin, not mane-skin, so it becomes much easier to understand that when you think of the meaning.
things are sounding good for 2023 rock. every song here is fresh and cool.
Wow..!! I am getting a Grace Slick Vibe off of her vocal…. Powerful & on Pitch…. Beautiful vibrato …
That GVF song was easily the best sub on that list! Tune test were pretty much pop rock.
I'm so happy we finally got Greta Van Fleet in here. One of my favorite bands right now. They will be releasing an album this July
They’re still givin’r? I thought they broke up a bit ago because of differences or something
@Pop_Shepski No but it seems that this tour will be the last one for a while. They mentioned having other interests they want to pursue.
What are they rated?
I love Jrock. Learnt about them through anime. I hope Rick would review them.
I agree about Japanese rock. I enjoy Polkadot stingray, tricot, and yonige as far as j rock bands
underrated? Lmfao
A lot more unique sounds than I was expecting. What a pleasant surprise
Such a massive difference compared to the pop list, where all the songs sound the same as each other.
Rock is on its way back up.
Rick, you should really try to do this once a month with these top 10 ten lists. We all love hearing your opinion on these new releases in rock music!
josh kiszka is really an amazing singer, the whole band is just unbelievable
They are in their own league
I agree with the Nothing But Thieves reaction (as someone who's a fan of their music) it does give off 80s like maybe disco rock vibes kinda similar to Daft Punk
The bassline is very similar to Sacrifice by The Weeknd, an artist who is also heavily influenced by Daft Punk and Michael Jackson
Yeah it has a French house vibe to it like Daft Punk and Justice
@@harleykf1 yeah I was thinking the same
@@harleykf1 yup I also noticed the similarities to the Sacrifice bass line.
This was such a fun video to watch and was especially nice to see Rick giving love to Lost by Linkin Park given what the song means for the band. Rick, you should absolutely review Paramore's This is Why! A fantastic album, easily one of the best of the year and in years
I really believe Nothing But Thieves has been one of the most underrated bands out there for the last 5 years
Also, that PTV album is really good. Love that Rick was feeling them both.
They got me with their first album. I've been obsessed since then...
And they are amazing live too! Rare this times
