That Lexus 400 was and still is a beast that toyota made. I got friends with 400k on the dash. Same engine and transmission. And still running like it just came off the showroom in the 90s.
Devon really seems to be working out really well. He seems to have a good work ethic for a young man, and that's awesome! The Lexus looks great!

talking about burn through on the roof, nothing against Devin but in about 26:35 in the video where he is going back and fourth you don't want to go up and over the body line. when you come to a body line, curve, sharp edge you want to use the buffer and go up to it flat but not over it. it'll put a lot of heat into a raised edge especially and cause burn through without even trying by wearing down the paint in that one area. more so something to think about on a car you own and are keeping for some time but also something to keep in mind for flip cars and customer cars. just my 2 cents on it with what I've picked up over the years in and out of the detailing field. love the videos! and Devin if you read this nothing I'm saying is at you in a bad way just a pointer to help you become a better detailer as you progress in the field, you do great work from where you started to now keep going my man!
I love Lexus and toyota cars and these old ones are neat. Car companies should figure out a way to eliminate rock chips from the factory. It seems to be a issue with all cars eventually. That's a awesome touch up kit!
It already exists. Clear wraps for the front bumper/hood.
@@FirstnameLastname-pe5ib Technically its PPF ( Paint Protection Film ). Got it done to my MX-5 aka Miata - laser cut by CAD & applied with hot air. It really does a great job.

Craig I love your videos and it was incredibly nice of you to spend money and time to make this car look amazing. What was really disappointing was your friend's reaction which was barely a thank you. That's just my opinion and you couldn't hide your disappointment because it was so obvious. No matter what, you did a good thing buddy.

Been using Dr Color Chip for years, it's a great system but I always order the larger paint jars as the little half ounce bottles dry out within a year.

I've used aluminum polish on dull headlights and it works great too..
On the plastic lenses? That could work. The LS400 has glass headlights, so this car wouldn't need that.

Wow, that is an awesome way to deal w/ the unsightly rock chips. Thinking that I'm going to have to invest in 1 of these for our shop, it'll definitely be a constant upsell along w/ the ceramic coats we offer.
One thing I've been able to do over the years is machine polish many of the B pillar garnishes, as long as they're NOT textured, it enhances the phenomenal polish that Devin laid down. A suggestion when buffing, try to keep the cord over your shoulder w/ plenty of space for movement, so it doesn't slide across the finish while you're running the wheel above it.

@coolissimo69 Scratches, not swirls. My friend lived on a farm and the sane thing happened to his car. Chickens would jump up on the hood and slide off causing scratches, not swirls.
The chickens couldn't peck hard enough to cause the chips, and most of the chips were on the curved section of the hood. Not possible from chickens.
@@andydhillon1977 swirls are also scratches also. Chicken peck the ground and can't peck a car ??? Does not take much.
@coolissimo69 Swirls are not the same as scratches. Swirls have consistent circular/oval shapes. Scratches are usually linear.
To create a chip in paint takes a tremendous amount of force. It's why rock chips occur on the highway or at speed.
Chickens don't randomly peck that hard at hard surfaces with no goal in mind.
