That z06 went to a employee's family member to probably flip and split the $$. People freaking suck Craig, be happy knowing you're not like that. Much respect my friend.

Someone inside the stealership diverted your order for fun and profit. Saw this happen to a guy I worked for back in the day when he ordered the Chevy SS454 pickup from a Hendrick dealership. Unfortunately for the salesman that hijacked his truck, my boss was a close personal friend of Rick Hendrick. He called Rick, got him out of a GM board meeting, and told him what happened. Rick told him not to worry, he would have his truck the next day. When I showed up for work The next morning, there was a brand new SS454 sitting in our parking lot. The window sticker said it came from a dealership two states away. There was also an unemployed salesman.

Glad you made this video, Craig. And I really hope you get a million views on this one. Best regards from a car detailer in Norway 🙂
You said it exactly Craig. Dealerships have a next customer philosophy, treating customers like a number and soon with new competition they will slowly lose business because of the Tesla/Car Vanna, Vrooms of the world that will deliver straight to your home. Customer service is vital to stand out, build Clients for life and stay in business.
I remember seeing a video from like nbc or msnbc that said carvanna is failing. I think it’s because they selling used cars and I know 4 people that ordered cars from carvanna during the pandemic. 3 had to return the cars/not accept at delivery because the car would have multiple faults or damages. Only one person kept their car but they regret it now and it also came with some faults like 4 bald tires (safety) and couple of other things… he had to spend almost $3k on top to get it right and carvanna promised to reimburse but played games with him when it came time ti pay… in the end they gave him $250 courtesy check 🤣
If you wanted a Z06 that bad, you should have tried other Chevy Dealers. The insanity is not the Chevy Dealer, but yourself, for not pursuing other Dealers, if you "really really" wanted Z06 bad enough , there are other Dealers and/or methods. The insanity was trying to do the same failed method , over & over again.
I feel you a bit here Craig, I also have had issue with the exact same Chevy dealer, I’ve been trying to three months to simply set up a service appointment to get my air bag done in my 2013 silverado. I’ve called several times and left voicemails, talked to service reps and walked in and tried with absolutely zero help or service done. I live up in northern maine (6 hours one way) and have been trying like hell to get it serviced through them and only then as they’ve always treaded me well and always done good work on my personal vehicles (when I lived in NH) and family but now after all this and over a simple air bag recall that I had zero problem scheduling out when they got the shipment I will no longer buy or bring another vehicle from a chevy to a Ferrari to them for anything at all they have entirely lost my business and my families business from here on out. It’s sad but I will be finding a new dealer to buy from and bring in my vehicles for service from this point on especially now hearing what you’ve been though which is far worse than my very simple air bag recall…. Best of luck Craig you’re a all around good dude and I’m glad to know ya you’re definitely the one guy that does truly deserve that car and have been treated like a second class citizen. Betley you need to do better and weed out the bad seeds before it bankrupts you treating customers like this. End rant
Just got my first EV and you are right 👍 I ordered it on line they called me 30 Days later and Bam I drove away 😊 Ok it's no Corvette but it is a Solo made by Electra Meccanica and it was $18,500 and I'm Loving it ❤️ so I hope you get your Vette you want Craig 😊 ❣️ your Channel keep up the good work and Info..
not just 20 probably almost 30k because resale value will be crazy. Its just like him saying, i’ve been asking to buy your home for the last year. you’re home last year was worth 200K, I will pay you 210K, but I will not pay the 250K you want and its current worth, Yeah right, GTF out of my home 🏡. I’m going to sell it to the other guy .

I had that happen a few years ago with a Mercedes dealer. Same thing no response. I sent a letter to the area manufacturers rep who advised the dealer to make it right.
Craig there are so many stories about getting scammed by a dealer on the Z06. Even though you begged to put a deposit down, that car had already been sold for more than you were going to pay. It sucks but that's the way the stealers work. Good luck to you!!
I totally feel your pain. I live in NY, and after two corrupt dealers and 1 corrupt independent auto broker I got my C8 from FL. And also stay away from Bonmin Chevy in Miami they suck too! Go to Hendrick Chevrolet!
The reason you didn’t get one is because you don’t have many subs compared to other UA-camrs like stradman and others that make car content, not to mention your a car dealer that only wants the z06 to resale for double retail. Let’s be honest Craig.
I agree totally. I'm an independent in So Cal. I'm getting a C8 next month. People just don't understand that I am NOT going to flip it. I like cars and have had 8 Corvettes. What doesn't everybody get. I like cars. I'd blast them.
Craig we have a Chevy dealer 5 miles from my house in Cape Coral Florida, Roger Dean Chevrolet. I told them I'd like to order a 2023 Corvette, C8. The salesman told me "Yes we can accommodate your order. You can pick any and all options you want and we sell it to you for full list + $20,000. The car will take 2-4 months to build and deliver. So down here they are adding $20,000 to a new Corvette if you want to order it.
As someone said, the other buyer might have given them a markup they couldn’t refuse. So - as you have done before - they sold it to the buyer with the best deal on the table that was ready to go . Unfortunately, s&it happens. Why don’t you just go to another dealer and get in line there and don’t reveal you are a dealer .
Why would you think you could monopolize the dealerships single allocation of not only the C6 but the Z06 as well? That's what? Two model years of Corvette allocations for this dealership? If you really want the car, go to a large dealership and pay the huge markup.
The Dealer are allocated one car a year, Craig got it last year and what's it again this year. Is there no end to this man's greed! Let someone else have a dream car mate.
thats not the point he asked to put a deposit down before anyone and was told they would never get one... which is lying to i assume one of there best customers
My dealership did that when I got my 2022 Bronco. I told them HELL NO and we went back and forth from $5000 to $2500 to splitting it down the middle and settling on $1250. I hated it, but I waited for a year and a half and wasn't about to leave without my Bronco.
I appreciate the support but Please dont leave the dealer any negative reviews. Retaliation wasnt the purpose for this video. I just wanted to express my frustration in the current market. Thank you everyone!
Yes just don't use them for service or to buy a car. They clearly don't give 2 shits about a repeat customer so why would they care about a new customer? i do doubt the owner ever saw an email thought. Probably doesn't check that email often if at all.
@@Progress888 While actions have consequences, it's not fair to leave a review for a business you haven't done business with. My business has been on the receiving end. I feel like dealers know their time is limited in new car sales. So they're trying to milk as much as they can. Operationally there is no need for them, and it's just an extra cost for both the manufacturer and the consumer
If your seriously interested in a Z06 I work for a Chevy dealership in Minnesota and can talk with sales if we're getting a Z06 because no one under my understanding has taken a allocation on one but yes the price gouging is wrong in all aspects forsure
I agree with you 100% Craig. Courtesy, respect, honesty and integrity is taking a nosedive. It has been happening for years but Covid pressed the accelerator pedal.
@@73hornet What's crazy is that Craig acts like this never happens. This has been happening for decades.Covid ,and the chip issue ramped it up.. Him dropping the " UA-cam videos , I need it ,I'll go viral with content" Then he offers 10K above MSRP for that car ? That's idiotic. If I need to purchase an item over market price in order to be first to review/make videos/make $$$$$ ,I do..People were trading C8s with sub 1K miles for 30K-40K over MSRP right after release.. Now Craig wants to buy one for 10K over ? I realize the dealer jacked him around ,but that's what they do and have done for decades...
Dealers have always been opportunistic on hot, new models or those in short supply. We ordered the first PT Cruiser in the Memphis zone area and then it came in, people were going crazy. My honest dealer honored the price which had been discounted from list. He actually offered us $10k to not take the car which we didn't take. It was a great little car that we drove for several years. Added sport springs and custom 18" Intro billet wheels.
U got 1 Corvette from them guarenteed they have many long time customers who they have had a relationship with for many years. You got the 1 Corvette they were able to get last year stop being greedy that's exactly how they were probably looking at it !
Nothing is more annoying than not receiving a response when you send multiple emails to multiple people in the chain.. I am going through this issue constantly with suppliers that I deal with. I have a broker doing the same to me at the moment as well.. No response or no apology for their mistakes.. they continue to use the bullsh!t “covid” excuse
Fucking thank you!!!! They get thousands of emails and calls per day, they probably don’t even know who the fuck he was. Show up in person and show them who is the boss 😂
Wow, reminds me of my local Ford dealer, I was in Florida, saw the new Bronco when it was first launched, went back home to upstate New York, was at an event, saw their Bronco, told them I wanted to order one and write the check for it in the spot, 3 years later I am still waiting for that call. Several emails and voicemails later and still nothing. My stance is F em
I got in a list about 15 persons long (at the time )from a large So Calif dealer for my Z06 in Jan 2023. Since many orders before me wanted Z07's with carbon goodies.... (they are still waiting for those cars to be built) which I don't care about. I went ahead of all those orders , and received the dealers first allocation slot for a 2024 and my order went in officially in July 2023. The order was processed , but the riptide blue metalic paint was not available at the very start of the production run . Dealer asked me if I wanted to change color, but I did not. So I moved to the delayers second Z06 allocation for 2024 several weeks later, the car was built in 3 weeks , delivered to California 8 days later At MSRP , no games , and the price was frozen at the order date price (an $2k+ increase had occurred by GM) , and honored . Can't have been happier.
I just bought one almost like yours from a exotic high end used dealership for a good price. 8 months old with 288 miles and they even had the oil changed too!! For a awesome fair price. IT WAS JUST TIRED OF DEALING WITH CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS!!! And paying the add this add that fees. The BS.
I got rid of my Chevrolet because my Dealer was dishonest..the company rep didn't care..offered me a 60 dollar coupon..I sold the car.Iam following the used car model now..retired..under 1000 miles a year now!Peace Craig!
Sad to say if you needed this car so badly you should have left deposits with multiple dealers and then pick the one that give you the first allocation. I left deposits with 3 dealers to get a M3 comp allocation and 5 months later 1 dealer came up for me.
Quick question 🙋♂️, if the dealership can’t make money from selling cars, why would they fix it? who’s going to do the service? with no dealerships, The Manufacturers ie Ford, Honda, GM is not going to fix your car 😂. Dealership are privately owned, so without them the prices for repairs, timing to get cars fixed quickly and non under warranty things would be crazy expensive. They have to make money some where right? GM doesn’t want the responsibility or the headaches.
I feel for you. That is sad to hear. I too am interested in getting a Chevy Corvette Z06 but, I know that placing an order will accompany a huge mark up. A markup that GM has warned dealers to prohibit doing. The closest I can get to a Z06 is buying a raffle ticket. LOL Good luck to you.
I had a very similar experience with an in transit Blazer. It definitely sucks. The scumbag dealer that did it to me was Nalley Chevrolet in Union City, GA. They are greedy liars from the salesman all the way up to management.
If not for dealers getting ridiculous franchise laws passed in every state back in the 1990s, ALL of the automakers would have ditched dealerships and went to online sales.
It’s hard to feel bad for a rich guy with all of the cars he could want. Has a 2021 vet, upset over not getting a 2022 and making a video upset about it and trying to put them on blast. No idea how you can be this mad about it, you’ve got 1,000 grapes and mad about 1 sour one. Not trying to sound like a hater, just my opinion on your video.
He got the grapes and other fruits. Looks like he lives a great life, great family, healthy etc etc. all this nonsense means nothing, it will all go out the window once life bites him in the ass.
3:13 , did I read that right, the dealership wants a $6,000 down payment non-refundable for the Z06 and then they say it'll be applied as a down payment when you pick it up but the vehicle will be sold for $90,000 over MSRP How is that legal and what kind of BS is that I thought the companies were like Ford and GM were talking down about this and telling the dealers they can't do this
So glad you actually told us the name of the dealership. Your followers will make sure they know how bad they messed up. They already received my email. Completely professional and respectful as I would never want to tarnish your name.... but they got the point.... love what you do, Craig! Keep on keepin on.
Craig, this is the way of the world today. No one cares, no one held accountable, and dealers are unapologetic. It is a screw you mentality. Sorry to hear that! You tried to work with a dealer you have done business with. That means your a good guy. What do they say about good guys finishing last?!? If you want something bad enough you have to be willing to do whatever it takes and what ever needs to be done to attain your need. Lesson learned. Go to wherever you need to go to get what you want and be unapologetic to attain it.
These dealers are in for a shock when things get back to normal and they have pissed so many people off. Sorry about what happened. Love all your content.
Theres no making "it" right. They don't even owe you nothing. U didn't put a down payment on it. That's the only way they would owe u anything. There not calling u back because they don't have to. They never owed you anything. In all reality you just didn't do your job if u really wanted it. Your job is to demand your leaving the down payment then they would have taken you serious.
We have a law like that in Canada hence why tesla had to go to court to fight it. The reason being is that the manufacturer has NO outlets or direct contact with the customer for product issues.
Totally agree w you here but I’ve experienced this same kind of thing over and over again. Particularly since SARS everything has gotten exponentially worse both in what you mention here and total incompetence, awful quality of products etc. I could write a book. Craig, sorry to hear what happened and the bad experience you had. It is sad that it is hard to find a good dealership. I hope you are able to get a Z06 sooner than later. Enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work.
You're absolutely right the world is changing and it's easier than ever to order a car online so that dealer takes a profit in the short run but is gonna be out of business in the future. Places like blockbuster and sears also did not grow with the times
2 bad examples: blockbuster folded simply due to online streaming and sears folded partially because of their "no questions asked" return policy as well as the market changing. Eatons here in Canada did the same: they'd take back clothes that were worn out....
Blockbuster had a chance to do streaming but laughed at the idea and passed on the opportunity sear stuck with there ancient out of date catalogs instead of using the internet until it was more than past when everyone else was doing it. And yes they did take most everything back that didn't help as well
I turned wrenches for two factory dealerships back in the 1980's and 1990's and can tell you that most car salesmen will lie to customers or at least they would back then, and I doubt anything has changed. I am surprised that you are surprised.
Craig, I personally know exactly what you're going through. I have experienced what you have for 3 years now. No one cares anymore. No one wants to help anymore. It's as if the go-to response is "no". You can talk to two different salesmen and get two different responses. Smh I hope you get one!
Everything you do nowadays is met with someone that doesn't do their job. Everything. It's a battle daily to get simple tasks done. And when someone has enough and bursts and goes on a shooting spree, it's deemed a mental health issue. People just gave breaking points and the ridiculous mindset of "not my job" in today's society is pushing people over the edge.
@Andy Dhillon He isn't going through anything. He wasnt promised anything. This is actually entitlement. People with much bigger youtube channels also didn't get one. People with much bigger problems dont whine so much.
Another example of the crap we have to go through to buy a new car. I recently ordered a Camaro LT1, took me about three days and lots of calls to find a dealer that would sell me the car strictly for MSRP. Times suck but tides turn and one day, we will all remember how we were treated. The general manager at the dealership (large box, NYSE owned) I ordered my LT1 and stated he knew I was serious about buying my car therefore no deposit. They've treated me pretty well so far. Car is being manufactured on 10/03. Waiting for the car....
Craig I think your on the right track in exposing what happened to you from this dealer. You need to continue to expose there bad behavior and there lack of accountability. Keep exposing them by name and the owners name until you get a response. Its the only way things will change.
Go Craig. My father taught me that the squeaking wheel Gets the grease. Makes you wonder. Times change. It is easier to hit delete than to reply. By the way. Screw is the Right word for what happened. Go Chevy. Dealers Fade away FAST!
It would seem that new car dealers around the world are trained out of the same book. That’s exactly what their doing here in Australia as well. As you’ve said dealers have shown they don’t need customers as they can sell cars for more at auction. We need to show them we don’t need them. Love the content mate keep up the top job !!
As long as (morons) people keep paying the market adjustment and through the nose to be "the first" they'll keep taking your money. It's like how con men operate: greed. People want want want and are willing to pay for it so they'll happily take your money. Until people stop, it will keep happening. It's like drug dealers: they don't go out and hold people down and force them to inject, inhale, snort their product, people come to them. As long as people keep coming to them, they'll keep selling.
Recently, Texas dealership Covert Chevrolet listed a 2023 Chevrolet Z06 for sale with a $100,000 dealer markup. With options, that brought the price of the car up to an eye-wateringly high $241,995. On a car that starts at $106,395.
You're not the only UA-camr that does product reviews. Even if you were, what makes your money better than any body else's. Seems to me, you weren't the first one that thought of ordering a ZO6, clearly you weren't. Just because you think that "you" were the the first one to ask, doesn't mean that you were. You know as well as anybody, dealers only like/want to sell to other dealers, is when they're stuck with too much, or undesirable inventory. There are people out there willing to pay $50K mark ups. Right, wrong or otherwise, they're in business, for EXACTLY the same reason you are. The had better money, period.
Dealers are burning all their loyal customers the past year or two . When things get back to normal I plan to be the pain in the rear customer that is looking to get the best price and is willing to purchase from any dealer that is the cheapest. If one dealer is a penny cheaper I will use them instead.
Not really a solution because you know what? They most likely won't care whether they get Craig's business or not. Sad but very true with most businesses today!
Unfortunately the mark ups were happening before Covid. I bought a brand new car from a dealership in 2019. I was given a paper with a price found out two years into my payments that they had added all sorts of add ons and fee and that original price they gave me they had marked up also. You think if you have something in writing they’ll stick to it but then they make you sign 500 papers after hours of waiting and you find out you signed something completely different than what you had originally negotiated. They pass you off from one person to the next until your tired and confused and then they take advantage. Car buying can be a really shitty experience, now they blame it on shortages but they’ve been playing the same game all along just have an excuse to gouge even more now.
You are a lucky man already Already have one , Just not the latest one Z06 World is not coming into a end Most of people interested doesn’t even get a response back
Craig. You exactly right. You can buy so much online. Why not a new vehicle? Customer service isn't the same anymore. I know from experience. Many industries. And the ones who work hard deserve more. You might not be a new big car dealership. Used. But smaller is better. Too much about the profit. Not enough about the customers, and the good hard working employees. Many people only about themselves and how to make money by hurting others. Don't give up. Keep going. I'm watching your videos. Country needs better. Too many deserve better.
Used to work as a new car salesman. Never again, the amount of shit that I saw on a daily basis made me leave 6 months later. Managers and Owners are so corrupt and only care about their commission. Salesmen get thrown under the bus all the time by the manager when it was the managers fault.

Hey betley Chevrolet had Google remove our negative reviews let's redo them!
I wish you could order and pay directly to the manufacturer. Then just pick it up from the dealership of your choice.
End rant

Sad to say if you needed this car so badly you should have left deposits with multiple dealers and then pick the one that give you the first allocation. I left deposits with 3 dealers to get a M3 comp allocation and 5 months later 1 dealer came up for me.
A lesson there for sure.
My guess is they got well over 10k market adjustment. $ is not an issue for many buyers of these cars

They pass you off from one person to the next until your tired and confused and then they take advantage.
