I think you have the concept for your channel out of whack. You're not Hoovie's garage, you're Flying Wheels. We want to see you run the dealership. We like seeing you make every possible mistake and still somehow come out ahead.

Great comment. You are correct. Seems like 80- 90% of the videos were victorious. Now only 30% show success, 70% are look at my failures.
I like Doug Demuro, Hoovie, Eric Estepp. Craig is really close to being super popular.
Give him a little more time, he appears to be regrouping, reflecting on the last 5years.

@@existinginaspace8347while I won't knock you for your affordability, I wouldn't trust a $5k used car in my part of the USA these days. $9k would be my starting point at a dealer. Your better option is private, but you'll definitely need cash in hand. $5k was my civic @ 90k miles 12 years ago, and that thing pushed 250k miles b4 I traded up. Great little car.

    This week on Crying Wheels!
But seriously, I'm in agreement with some of the other commenters. Your edge is in showing us the dealer process and experience ---> Auction ---> fix ----> sale ---> profit/loss. I'm not as interested in the other videos like buying your ferrari, E-tron depreciation, Mecum Auctions etc. There are plenty of other channels for project cars etc.

Losing his focus will lose viewers. Same thing happen with AutoAuctionRebuilds. He used to buy crashed cars from Copart and fix them. Now he does Copart walkthroughs, buys clean title donated cars and pays to have them fixed, and talks about the 5 new vehicles he's making payments on. At one point he had $250,000 worth of financed cars and it was just depressing.

The other side to this is - Hoovie has an unlimited budget, unlimited property for storage, and cars are truly his hobby - running a fast food restaurant chain is his primary source of income. Mixing pleasure with business is a cardinal sin, as the priorities get skewed. As for that Mercury Cougar - that is a damn cool car; all the middle-aged women I knew growing up in the 90's seemed to buy them, but if equipped with the 5.0L engine, they were sleepers (or could have been turned into them easily). But to my earlier point? Nothing excites me less than a rich kid's toy (Italian sports cars) - a car that I will never own, don't ever wish to own, and every UA-camr I used to follow "jumped the shark" so to speak the day they started focusing on them, rather than the normal and obtainable vehicles I could realistically see in my own driveway. I live in southern NH too - this isn't Ferrari country. Used car dealers have a reputation; you started off on the right foot by trying to show the "behind the scenes" of selling used cars - stick to that, narrow your focus, and maybe show off some of the oddities you find along the way (I'd love to see that Cougar featured - is that one of the "Bostonian Edition" models?)

Craig, to be honest, all these cars you're buying "for youtube", i mean, not talking for everybody, but probably a lot of people don't care. I'd like to see you do a trial period with only going to the auction, flipping cars, talk about profit. Who gives a rat about a school bus. If you want to buy it for you, you can just mention it, and that's it. But a lot of people don't care about these junk cars. I'd be interested in seeing more about day to day operating a dealer, or stories about customers being dumb, or trying to scam you. Just talk about prices going up and down (which you do, i know), avoid dragging 2 3 episodes about a shitty project about which a lot of people won't care, if you really want to focus on the youtube side. I really enjoy your channel, and i usually like to watch all the episode so hopefully helps in any way, i have pretty much watched most of your episodes since 1st episode of flipping into a ferrari, that was recommended to me, and to be honest, i'd like you to try that again in this market, rather than during covid times. I really hope everything works out in the end for you!

I’ve seen a lot of comments here roasting you for this and that and get back to your old videos and whatnot…
Here’s the issue no one is talking about. Look bud. I’m in the same boat so don’t take this as negative feedback. You’re buying the toys and other cars you have always wanted because UA-cam has allowed you to do this. Not the other way round. And that is awesome! You have made it far enough in UA-cam land that you can afford to buy the junk of your childhood dreams and you should own that. Live your dream brother and give us the videos of that fulfillment along the way.

just have your office manager limit you to a maximum 5 project cars at any time no matter how exciting a sixth one would be. that should resolve most of your issues. for your existing hoopd inventory, no more project cars till you clear your inventory. start with the ones at the dealership and replace them with the money makers. set yourself a plan to complete two per week, and list which ones you will complete each week. you’ll be back on track for the summer sales, and you’ll still get your videos

Craig…wasn’t the Ferrari $400 bucks? And then sold for 86k…that pays for most of your UA-cam fleet. And do you not get revenues from UA-cam? Given that you have a dealership…why not hire another mechanic and have him/her focus on your UA-cam fleet? You tend to purchase interesting project cars and you almost always buy them right…there is no way you are loosing your shirt on the UA-cam side of the house. If the Grey Escalade is not a rust bucket…sell it. Sell of the cars that are not junk and keep some clunkers that you dedicate time to fixing and making content. I have been watching your channel for a long time…you had the Viper before the hoarding of clunkers began. You should do a video on the $500 dollar Panther…clean it up and sell it. That’s a money maker…you won’t retire but you won’t loose either. Now stop the complaining or we are going to start asking you if you want cheese with your whine 😂

Your solution is this. Every week, you take one of these clunkers. You clean it up and make it run. One week max. It goes up for sale CHEAP. Now the clock starts. You have one more week to sell it. So if it's running fine and can be polished and vacuumed in an afternoon, I give you the rest of that first week and the second week. You make youtube vids for the first week and update all the cars' second week. Not sold at the end of the second week? To the auction with no reserve and it's gone and you can video the auction experience. With the youtube payments plus whatever you get, you won't lose money and you get rid of all this junk. I have to include the GTS in this. You know what people looking for these cars want? The GT-R wide body and a factory paint job, like in black. The paint is really cool but it narrows your market a lot. I'd consider buying it but I would absolutely repaint it. Sorry.

Over the years ,you have shown your fans the passion you have for cars and you dream of driving the best that you admire. But when we get a job at an ice cream shop and taste one day all the flavors it can really be overwhelming.. Perhaps you can start an apprentice position that can help you finish some of the simple projects. It will be hard to let go of all of the control but a real rewarding experience for a blooming gear head. Thank you for sharing all you that you have shown us. Keep on Flying......

I watch for the content highlighting the savvy businessman and enthusiast that Craig is… not to watch someone try and replicate what others have done (Hoovie, Samcrac, Tavarish). Don’t chase clout, create it. Play to your strengths, Craig… and keep that edge to you (like telling people you’d set that car on fire before selling it for a lowball offer💪🏼). Ps, the chop-top Escalade was a strength… It’s unique, and yours. Maybe another fun project like that with a cool end result

It’s weird how I’m sitting here listening to you talk about how much work you’ve got to do on so many different cars just for the forecourt alone and then also how many potential video/content making cars you have and simply not enough hours in the day to do them all especially by yourself…..i’ve just started my UA-cam journey about my little car dealership in the UK and I can see myself being you in 5 years (maybe not with so many subscribers though 😊) im exactly like you and the cars are building up already 🤦‍♂️I’m going to try and not let this happen, but what I will say is, it looks like you’ve done pretty well for yourself, give yourself a very large pat on the back 👍All the best, Kev!

Time to make a video about most efficiently bailing out on bad buys. Honestly, that'd be kind of interesting. I bet a lot of those you could just list and move in as is condition and recoup... some of what you have in. Obviously some are more expensive mistakes than others.
I guess when I started following this channel it wasn't for WD content or glamorous cars or wacky projects. I followed for the basics. How to flip cheap cars into nicer cars. If you did another $400 >>> Ferrari I'd be all about it. Maybe one that's just sports cars or just trucks or SUVs? VANS??

originally I subbed to watch you do your dealership thing, and to get the dealer perspective. You have a good personality, so I stuck around through the house flip stuff, family stuff, boat stuff, and even through the hooptie phase. You have project ADD. I'm the same way, I see the potential, but never the time to finish things in a timely manner. I'd recommend doping a purge, and maybe getting back to dealer things.

Damn Craig. Your inventory has turned into junk over the years since you started the 400 flip series. I can never recall your front one looking like that or the side of the garage looking like that. Granted you clearly have a lot of the trucks and SUVS you've always had you just aren't showing them because ei guess its boring but you do have valid points. You have been off a little but we all lose four at times. Just recenter, and keep up what you've been doing for years. This location should probably only house inventory for real buyers, not UA-cam commenters or Facebook low ballers. Leave the procjets at the other spots. Prime location deserves priority vehicles.
