Jim, thank you for the clear detail and order of the process for us. Audio is clear, lighting is very good, no superfluous talking or music. You set the standard for how-to video. Thank you! Kelly (Zubb)
Jim, I watched this video several times before starting installations of the Denali SoundBomb and Clearwater Ericas this weekend. The video was a great confidence-builder -- I was walking in the house after each step to review what was next. This specific video (and your videos generally) are a huge help to those of us who want to learn more about our bikes and do our own professional-looking (and -working) installations.
I placed some small pieces of velcro on my 2016 GSA frame and the felt so it stayed in place better, worked like a charm. The center fuel pump connector came off flawlessly, the other separated between the cap and the insert portion, there is a hinge at that location on both plugs. I would make sure I grab close to the tank to remove the connectors next time. I also mistakenly thought advice was given to remove the keyless tank door lock mechanism and when I saw the wire I went back, watched the video and realized I had jumped to the wrong contusion. Just the two breather tubes from the tank, the electrical comes off at its own junction plug. Many thanks to JVB Productions for this video, it gave me the confidence to add some auxiliary drive lights, louder horn and second tail light. Wouldn't have, couldn't have, done it without your excellent tutorial. Well done!!!
Great video! I work in a shock repair business in Mexico City,, This video helped me to gain confidence to remove the front shock of a R1200GS , repair the shock and reinstall everything with no mistakes. Congratulations Jim!
hello, yes it actually helped me. I was starting to feel myself alone in my garage, then I went back in appartment to review your video and solved my issue. Really thank you.
Thank you for taken the time to show us how to take off the body panels for the GSA r1200. It's going to be handy when we work on our own bikes after the warrantees runs out!😄
Hi Jim .... thanks for taking the time to make this video it is going to be a great help as I’m just about to remove my petrol tank, The quick disconnect on the fuel line 🤔 does this mean you do not have to drain the fuel out of the tank to remove it from the bike
Thanks Jim. This has been exceptionally helpful, in that it has convinced me that I am off to sell a Kidney so i can get BMW to replace my busted indicator!
Excellent. A most useful video to get to know your gs/GSA. I found it instructional as I dismantled the fairing on the right side to figure out the layout of the horn & any other wiring possibilities. Amazing the energy & focus you n other knowledgeable enthusiasts put in. Thanks once again.
Great and clear video, thanks!! This has certainly got me 90% of the way to replacing the front shock absorber, but I also need to remove the air box to get at the mounting bolt at the top of the shock. I found the two screws at the back bottom of the air box, but the clamps that attach the air box to the cylinder intake pipe have me defeated - do you show how to remove the air box in another video, or even just how to remove (and re use) the clamps on the cylinder intake pipes?
I did not remove the air box, but I am guessing they are the same as the ones on the earlier bikes. They use a special tool to tension and clamp them, and to remove them. This video should help: ua-cam.com/video/0y6qqEZQa-8/v-deo.html
Thanks Jim, much appreciated. I actually found that video late last night on a journey that started with some web forum posts about the air box removal, which lead me to the "special tool" you need, which lead me to the different types of clamps, which then lead me to that video. Unfortunately it will take too long to get a set of those clamp pliers in my hand so I'll see what I can do with some long nose pliers. I did have a bash on Sunday but couldn't see the clamp very well and tried to pinch against the wrong edges, and backed off concerned I might damage something.
Hi, thank you for your video. Helped me a lot. Had bought a headlight cover from BMW bur required to remove the Led headlight. Not possible without removing the whole fairing. Thank you again for your guidance.
Hi Jim, I’ve got alot of the normal common screws. And 3 big shank ones. Not sure where they go. I thought they were all the same until I saw them them lying next to eachther on the table. Any ideas?
Hi, I haven't got my 2014 GSA yet but should do in a couple weeks, what I'm looking at doing is putting the frame on to take the Vario luggage system rather than sticking with the standard aluminium panniers. I'm assuming that this is straight forward.
I agree with others that have posted on the quality of this video. Chris Harris channel focuses on another type of BMW series (K series). Perhaps you would consider doing a line of videos for the R series (?) (1200GSA being greedy ?) Thank you for the consideration.
Very nice video, I need to fit a headlight protector and it has a clamp that it goes under the headlight rubber holder. Can you show a video from a head light removal? how to unclip the headlight? Cheers
for some reason my top panel just does not seat all the way on the right side by the tank filler. Not by the filler, but by the outser edge. Any hints?

Thanks everyone! I hope this video has helped some of you get this done on your own!
Este es uno de los mejores videos por su buena explicación del paso a paso,... Gracias.

Jim, I look forward to you giving a body work update for the 2021 and up RT. Are there any plans?
I bought your DVDs for my 04 GS, this was great to see for my new to me ‘16 LC. Great and well thought out presentation as always. Thx!

If it helps to give context to my objective, it is to install the Touratech replacement suspension: shop.touratech.com/media/manuals/09-045-5887-0.pdf

Great video, extremely useful. Thanks for making and posting
Dumb question? can the adventure tank be mounted on the the GS model swap ?
Thanks
Very pro video no annoying music
Only the right way to do it Thanks
Thanks, it is possible, the frames are the same, but it would be costly to do because of all the associated plastic parts.
Jim, really very useful video. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the excellent video.

If you want to have just the Vario luggage, you just remove the GSA racks and add GS footpegs, and they bolt right on.
Well done and instructive. Thanks
Great vid! Thanks JVB!!

Is it the plastic fuel tank ?
大変参考になり、ありがとうごじました!これからも、動画期待いたします!頑張って下さい!
Well done. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Do they make a beak eliminator kit so you don't have to put it back on?
Can you put a standard GS tank on an adventure and swap the body work?
Great video and info, thanks !
Hi Jim , the tank is steel or plastic Please ? Thank you ! 👍🏽✌🏽
