Axel isn't a push over aswell, as you saw and struggled to do. here's a fun fact, idk if you remember but in one of the first cutscenes when showing all 4 of them together, Vexen talked about the number system, saying he was number 4 and marluxia is number 11 in the organization. the interesting thing here is that the number DOES NOT determine the strength of the individual.
The Number Basically Appears To Represent how Recent Each Member Joined. the lower the number, the longer they've been there. axel being tougher than vexen and able to eliminate him with ease is not at all a coincidence, and being able to hold off marluxia also proves he is at the very least, Equal, in strength.

See, now that's interesting because I didn't really even pay attention to the number system, and now that I think about it, you're right. The number doesn't determine strength because if it did, axel wouldn't stand a chance against marluxia and that's how he was able to easily kill vexen and knowing that the number represents how long they were in the organization I have to go back and check 1st to last, thank you so much😭🙏🏾

@@NigrellCake you'll soon see marluxia's power since it's become obvious he's the final boss, but it didn't matter for axel since he is able to rival the strength of marluxia with no issues at all.
the numbers for these 4 characters you've seen so far go as follows, Axel is Number 7 (lucky number funny) Larxene is Number 12, Vexen is Number 4, and Marluxia is Number 11. but if we're measuring strength, its a whole different order.
Marluxia And Axel Are Even, if Not, Axel Might be Slightly Better due to his loyalty, Larxene is next in line for this list, but she's by far not one of the strongest in the organization although indeed the most annoying, and vexen is more towards the bottom along side maybe 2 others that I'll wait for you to meet before I specify if you plan to do riku's path. the reason for vexen is cause he's not exactly considered fighter.
anyway, No Problem for lending detail, sometimes knowing more about the characters can help with story telling in game. fun to learn and hear
