Been listening to this song every morning I begin my workday for the past two years straight. Life’s been tough at times. Was owner operator of a business, had two kids, bottom fell out on the market so I, a high school drop out, had to start over and get back into school to be given a chance at getting into commercial electrical. The past two years between work, fatherhood, and the entire process has been an ultimate struggle (and a pandemic), but what I’m working for is something more than free. It’s for these two sons I have, a beautiful wife, and a better life than the one we just began leaving. Thanks Jason. I loved meeting you at summer camp music festival many years back!
Really love this song and artist... makes me see and feel the people I love... some still here and some gone, that embody this song and its lyrics...humbly include myself through different stages of my life as I have followed their footsteps and dreams...
You know, probably the best thing that happened to this guy was getting booted from Drive By Truckers. No disrespect to DBT, but it helped him on his path to sobriety.
@@BoognishWhoo wow someone who doesn’t see eye to eye politically but still enjoys his music. Does that scare you? Differing opinions are tough to deal with I know
Hella great song. So sweet to see Jason smiling at Amanda during better times.
Jason Isbell proves that there will always be good music. You just have to hunt for it sometimes. I thank God for the work and Mr. Isbell

His songs have that ability to hit me in the chest like a ton of bricks. Probably one of the greatest songwriters since Dylan.
The perfect mixture of melancholy and hope. How does he do that?
wish more people appriciated music like this these days.. so much talent.. so glad this guy got sober
No doubt, Patterson is regretting firing his ass now, but in so doing he probably saved the man's life.
so so good

Man that 335 sounds good at 3:30 until the end.
His concerts are great. I love it when him and Sadler battle each other with slide guitar. So is this song tuned 1/2 step down me thinks?

I have political issues with "Mr. Isbell" , but the man sure can write/play some good music
Because he doesn't like the pathetic loser bigot Trump? Oh I forgot insurrection leader. Kinda shows what type of person you are.

It's nice to see someone who doesn't completely disregard an artist's music because of that stuff.
