An older pilot once gave me great advice when following a checklist, he said, "Its a checklist, not a to-do list". He meant that you should memorize everything but refer to the checklist before proceeding. Great advice.
Back in the Air Force Academy in Brazil, there's a "game" where you spin a wheel filled with various kinds of failures that might happen. When the wheel stops, you must say the full checklist in order to solve the failure you get. The prize is not getting sent to flight counsel and probably kicked out of the academy. So, yeah, i strongly recommend to know your checklists if you wanna be a military pilot. Fly safe! :)

I am Norwegian, yes. Sound recording is tricky. In this case it was done by hooking a sound cable directly onto helmet microphone connectors and plugging into the external audio connection in camera. Non-Balance in impedances between the two sets of headsets and the camera made the radio/intercom dull for as long as the camera was connected. Camera sound came out loud but good (I think), but picks up all sorts of breathing in the mask. I will experiment with hooking onto the loudspeaker elements the next time to pick up all communication. I have also tried putting a microphone in the headset to record sound (thus avoiding impedance issues totally), but result was poor.

Before you open it, you turn on an electrical Fuel Pump and initiate the electrical Starter Motor sequence (involving revving up and providing ignition). Erling Wiig There is no "single engine turbine" rating or license. Any turbojet aircraft requires a type rating, or in the case of a jet warbird possibly a Letter of Authorization to fly. As far as time requirement I doubt any insurance co would cover a pilot in a jet warbird with only 1000 hrs total time. The guys flying these aircraft have several thousand hours of flight time on avg.
I got the rules mixed up. In my country you would need a Single Engine Turbine Rating. Requirements in US are 1000 hours, in my country this is not the rule. Requirements for insurance also varies greatly, depending on which country younfly in.

Iberian M I've heard of some famous accidents involving Russian pilots getting into western planes and misreading the AI... I can really understand it having seen that. It's bizarre that the sky is "below" the plane and the ground "above."
airmale72 It's really quite logical if you think of the gyro ball as always being level with the ground and you're looking at it from the outside. Then it makes sense that "above" the horizon line would be ground and below sky, because if you're looking at the ball from above, you're going into the ground. Western-style attitude gyros tend to model the perception as if you're sitting "inside" the ball. I don't think either way is "better". It's really a question of what you're used to.
Whats with all the grunting and heavy breathing while sitting on the ground motionless?? Whats gonna happen when this guy pulls 6+ G's with this plane?

As far as time requirement I doubt any insurance co would cover a pilot in a jet warbird with only 1000 hrs total time. The guys flying these aircraft have several thousand hours of flight time on avg.
I got the rules mixed up. In my country you would need a Single Engine Turbine Rating. Requirements in US are 1000 hours, in my country this is not the rule. Requirements for insurance also varies greatly, depending on which country younfly in.
Licence to communism
now i know is the same procedure that people do in car when you're waiting for them to free the parking slot...
Where the hell is the rest of the flight....:(
Whow, ay MIG might be some kind of Hercules, but you have a lot of courage! Well done
Great chill video! Thank you for posting it
I never knew death had to be dealt with so much procedure...
Death? At that time it was the best fighter, beats Sabres every day of the week
@@stilpa1 I think he means the fact that being a pilot jet back in the war was one of the most dangerous jobs that you could have.
Pre-flight checks take forever when actually done on most aircraft. People seem completely unaware of this.
I guess that idea of not falling out of the sky sticks with everyone
I want to fly in one of these. Ever since I was a kid I thought the shape of the MiG-15 is hypnotizing.
I'd personally wanna fly Su-34.. Always wanted to be a pilot but lucks not on my side and am too short according to army...
enjoyed the procedure.. and video, especially seeing our companies corporate jet on your left during your taxi ( white with 2 blue stripes!)
Can't wait to get this baby in DCS
TheSkipjack95 im getting a pc soon i did not know you could use this thing in dcs i will buy it is it worth it
artificial horizon is inverted on its vertical axis?
Yepp! Russian design approach is usually logically, but not always - as in this case :)
my left ear feels weird :/
its how they take-off in Australia.... duh
I used to make planes and fly them myself.
Only when there is a used paper in the office.
I learned some things about takeoff that I didn't know....thanks for posting the vid!!!
Awesome and beautiful scenery there in the Sangre de Christo Mountains to fly that classic jet around in!
Me trying to tell my wife shes wrong 🤣
@Evan kay I'd rather stay humble 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's divorcing time
Im out of breath

Imagine just being in this airplane and watching this video on how to fly it
Amazing front visibility. Thank you for posting this video.
The Wright brothers would've loved to watch this! A few more instruments etc but basically the same 'pray and hold-tight' routine!
Whats with all the grunting and heavy breathing while sitting on the ground motionless?? Whats gonna happen when this guy pulls 6+ G's with this plane?
5:20 Yeah!...Thats the same way, I hide my helping material during exam!
my left ear liked this this...
Listen in high 🔊
I like this channel, it gives education about pilots.. good job, don't stop giving the best

Which by the way does not have proofs.
I am bro
Fuck surgical strike😂😂🤣😂
Yep India killed 10 million terrorists in the surgical strike.
@@longjamboris1041 no proof lol
Why is the attitude indicator upside down? I know there were originally several standards for the colors on them, but this panel has obviously been changed drastically from the original MiG15 so I would be surprised if they didn't change the attitude indicator, too.
that "blowing out" ASMR really got me bw
