While in Cuba, when going to the airport, I spotted the mig-23 with number 810 on sides of the cockpit, it was parked on a concrete slab in front of a military college, really beautiful to see in person
So cool.. Swing wings are like pop up head lights on cars.. Its not new tech or current, but still look oh so good! 😎 Fantastic achievement to have this ‘23 in the air 👊🏼
When i was very young i saw the cocpit of thid Mig 23 and it was like observe alien ship for me those days. It was a kind of "open doors day" when aircraft factory let any person to visitvthe plant and its production. The cockpit in this video is very different as a remember. This is one ofmy favourite, Star Wars like ship.
Haha, we used to about 20 years ago fly the foam 1/5 scale version of these for the tankers to shoot at...Also, they made a great R/C plane to have fun with...Not very manuevable, but cool to look at going thru the air...😊😊!!!
Is it an ex Bulgarian AF one and if so can you recall the board number before the paint job. Might be able to trace the bird's history from the beginning. I can see it is not and late MLD version but one of the earlier one's . Is the engine restricted to 100% in burner if so that was done to save fuel and to stress the airframe less. The original modification has a seting to give 110-115% max power in burner for short periods and the jet was able to aoutrun and outclimb almost anything of the same era...
They have one of those in the hangar at the “Petting Zoo” at Nellis AFB. It’s awesome to sit in the cockpit and see all the gauges and switches etc. in Russian. I got awesome pictures/video of my son sitting in it being Darth Vadar shooting down the Rebels…😂😂😂…it’s awesome. Were the swept wings automatic or manually controlled..??..
They are manually controlled but the Russians would call it Automatic.Pilot must set the wing sweep angles. The Flogger at the petting Zoo is an ML and states there are three settings for the wings. This is wrong. There are infinite settings between the 16` and 72` selection.

Awesome!! Definitely want a ride on one of those
Brought back memories of ongoing cat-&-mouse standoffs between SAAF Mirage F1's & "Angolan" Mig 23's; South West African/Angolan Bush war, around late 1980's.
What an honor to see this Soviet Fighter Legend taking off to the skies again 🥰
I'm from syria my cousin is a mig 23 pilot and so don't worry it still flies and carries out air strikes
Love the eye contact during formations, and communicating with hand signals, Amazing video!
*Where is Maverick?*
Fantastic achievement to have this ‘23 in the air 👊🏼
P
What a beautiful jet👌
Wow, great looking flogger. Such a sleek jet. Any more video of this flying?
When i was very young i saw the cocpit of thid Mig 23 and it was like observe alien ship for me those days. It was a kind of "open doors day" when aircraft factory let any person to visitvthe plant and its production. The cockpit in this video is very different as a remember. This is one ofmy favourite, Star Wars like ship.
LOL! amazing video, thanks!!! love the "where is maverick?" poster.
Excellent production ! Thank you for sharing !
You guys NEED the RED star!!
watching this after the crash makes it really sad
AWESOME! Fascinating aircraft
What a beautiful aircraft! top marks to MiG design bureau ... pretty funny "where is Maverick"...
3:58 those moments made my heart spread up🤩
Haha, we used to about 20 years ago fly the foam 1/5 scale version of these for the tankers to shoot at...Also, they made a great R/C plane to have fun with...Not very manuevable, but cool to look at going thru the air...😊😊!!!

One of the coolest thing's i've seen on yt. Crazy you can own something like that privately lol. Awesome.
Beautiful footage, thanks Erik!!!
Much respect for that GoPro on the wingtip !
Haha, this and the A-4 are the fastest I’ve ever tested them. 450kts
@@mig21pilot i think ML had automatic wing sweep... but not sure... maybe it's the MLD who has it auto
Thanks for the clarification
I remember going thru the "Petting Zoo" when it was classified.
Beautiful machine!!!!!
Can't believe one of these is flying around in our airspace under private ownership. It's actually quite beautiful and a sinister looking machine at the same time. Love the swing wings. I can't even think about how much it must cost to maintain.
This one crashed yesterday@ an air show .
.Both occupants survived , ejected safely
13.8.2023
Aircraft totalled
ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
"Strangle the parrot"! I haven't heard that in YEARS!
Glad you guys are safe!

Umm, it was a Mig28 LOL
Thank you for sharing, made my evening.
Your very welcome! Sure happy you liked it!
Beautifuuuuuul !
So many questions. How did civilians get their hands on an old operational mig? How do they get parts for it?
First of all, the exterior is cool. It's sleek.!
