Nice video sir!!! Great Implement!!!
The Kelly Diamond Harrow is an impressive tillage tool.
For some reason I just love to watch the sprays of dirt coming off of the disc blades, way back in the day I used to imagine it was a never ending charge of horses going into battle and as the soil conditions changed you got different colored horses. I know it doesn't make much sense now but a 9 year old me would spend hours riding around in a 9700 ford pulling an old JD disk in the field. These Kelly Diamond harrows may be my new favorite implement they get some pretty good "horse action" going. BTW that planter set up is bonkers in all the right ways.
The 54 row planter is impressive. The Kelly does a nice job in churning up the soil. If you want to see a disk really dig up the ground check out my video on Wishek disks at m.ua-cam.com/video/ONAD3OO-7rg/v-deo.html A Wishek Disk works the ground like a moldboard plow.
That is a massive corn planter! And the diamond harrow looks mighty useful there. Great video! :)
The harrow and planter make a nice team.
That's really interesting. I live in the UK and have never seen a peice of kit quite like that. Thanks for showing it.
Yes it is built in 🇦🇺
Thank you for watching Ben. It is an interesting tillage machine.
Thank you! That is good stuff!!
Thank you for watching.
I was really trying to get a look at what holds the harrows together it almost looks the way a chain is put together and what the end knuckle on the harrows looked like had me intrigued also. I haven't see these anywhere up in the northern states or in my area. It looks like it does a nice job of fitting up the soil as a final pass before planting.
I put a close look video of the chain set up on Big Tractor Power Instagram yesterday. The disks are just hooked together on a chain. It’s a simple and effective set up.
@@bigtractorpower
Thanks for showing that on your Instagram! Much appreciated BTP!
Your content and narration are excellent, thanks
Thank you for watching. It is fun sharing this big machinery.
Enjoyed. As usual. Thanks!
Thank you for watching.
nice vid. :) i've never seen a Diamond Harrow before.. seems 2 work very well.
Great Video! I have driven a John Deere 8R 410 with the same Kelly Diamond Harrow in Eastern Germany last summer. It was easy to push up to about 44 acres per our and we've experienced that it does the best job in slightly humid conditions. Also the service was very easy as you said. It seems that most manufacturers of tillage equipment get back to easy built and easy to use machines
Keep up the great work and greetings from Germany!
The Diamond Harrow is a nice tillage implement. A farm I film at often was the first in the area to get a Kelly 11 years ago. They replaced two certified tillage tools with one Kelly. The Kelly can jump 600 acres ahead of a 24 row corn planter quickly.
We call the diamond harrow a kelly chain in Australia
Been enjoying your videos for several months. Just thought I should say thanks.
Thank you for watching and posting.
Thanks for making a vid about a 9RT! Great vid as always!
9RTs are nice tractors. They are a little harder to find now with the 9RX out. At least in my area.
It does a very smooth job
excellent machinery, thumb up and greetings
Thank you for watching. The 9RTs are impressive tractors. The Kelly Harrow is a great tillage tool.
I can speak from personal experience that 9.5 to 10 mph is the optimal speed for a diamond Harrow. If you try to go much faster it causes the chain to create a ripple effect.
We have two 45’ Kellys. They will run over every bit of our 6000 acre rice corn and bean ground at least twice before planting.
boomerang379 Where are you growing rice?
What do you pull your Kelly harrows with?
Big unit wow
It will cover some ground.
Love the videos! Keep them coming!
This is really an unique implement with the flexible axles, it would be interesting to know how it works,
There is no axle. It uses a hook and eye chain link to contact the disk blades. It is basically a big chain in a diamond pattern.
@@bigtractorpower Thank you BTP
Exelente como siempre hermano saludos
Ничего нового, трактор как трактор, лущильник дисковый как лущильник. Не лучше и не хуже чем те что делались во времена СССР.
Never seen a Harrow like that 👍 great video as always
Thank you for watching.
Another day another John Deere vid. I love it.
Thank you for watching.
That's amazing 👷
It does a nice job.
That 💎 diamond harrow is very effective, very impressive B.T.P..
It creates a nice seed bed.
That is a great Peace of equipment
It does a nice job.
That is truly efficient tool.
It is well designed
Cool implament.
Awesome seeing some Australian made gear working overseas 🇦🇺🤙🏻
👍 it’s a well built machine.
Great video. That harrow works like a top soil mower.
It’s a solid tillage tool. Thank you for watching.
what a great storie love your work
Thank you for watching.
Cool tool, it does a great job.
It makes a nice seedbed.
Looks like a smoothed level job 🚜👍
It is very effective in creating a seed bed in one pass.
Good video BTP 👍
Thank you for watching.
Kelly Engineering - a good South Australian company that makes a great product.
👍🇦🇺
Great video! Nice piece of equipment. Never had seen one before.
Thank you for watching. The Kelly Harrow is an interesting, effective and simple tillage tool.
Интересный огрегат!!!
nice
Thank you for watching.
Our neighbor has one but I was disappointed with its ability to deal with our hard soils or how it would ride over root balls without disturbing them. Maybe the new version using disks and weights would work better.
It does a nice seed bed prep. It is not set up for deep tillage to bury and break corn stalk. It can see the stalks and help them decay.
I’m from central Kansas and I think this would work great in our area. I’d like to see something about how it works over terraces. We have Great Plains manufacturing in Salina and they make a turbo till and a turbo chopper but I think this tool would work better in our area.
They are an impressive tillage tool. I would think it would follow the contour of a terrace. The chain seems to float pretty well. Our local John Deere dealer Hutson Inc sells these Diamond Harrows.
Dannae, we'd be happy to send you some more information or answer any questions you might have. You can get in touch with us through our website, www.kellytillage.com
@@bigtractorpower can you tell me where the nearest dealer is to Salina Kansas?
I wonder what that would be like incorporating broadcast wheat seed?
Nice Job
Thank you for watching.
Awesome video! Not too far from me, I live in Wickliffe...
Very cool. Thank you for watching.
Like it when u tell us price of tractors ,can u also tell us price on Implements
I was not able to confirm a list price on the implement to include. I know a farmer who bought a 45 ft Kelly Diamond. several years ago and he paid $90,000.
Great video ,is the farmer that has the 24 row corn head we seen in some of the other videos?😎
Yes it is.
The diamond harrow does a great job staying ahead but isint the vt better for heavier material
I've never seen a harrow like that. That is very neat. How much horsepower does that take to run an implement like that?
In this area of Kentucky I see only 45ft models pulled by 450-500 plus hp. There is a 60ft Kelly as well.
beautiful machine the 9RT! How does it compare to the MT800 series?
Go ask the Millenial Farmer about it, he had both one size smaller but probably answers your question. ua-cam.com/video/KSndEZ_ocps/v-deo.html
Da vid. Zach has a 9560RT which was offered from 2012-2014. It is similar to an MT865C. Challenger offered a 585 hp MT875C and now a 600 hp MT975E. For some reason John Deere has not gone beyond 570 hp on two tracks. The Challenger that Zach demonstrated is a high horse power row crop model rated at 430 hp. It is larger than the current top end 370 hp John Deere 8370RT. The MT743 does not compare to a 9RT. The Challenger MT800s match the 9RT in weight and power.
Ulrich2106 in my opinion the Challenger MT800 is a top tractor on the market. It offers the smoothest ride on the road of all 2 and 4 track tractors on the market in my opinion. The MT800 has lots of torque. The 9RT is nice but I would give the edge to a Challenger.
@@bigtractorpower no in that video he compares his 8360 vs the MT743 which are counterparts in class, yet the Challenger is one generation up to the JD. Nontheless JDs are solid and matured machines with elderly flaws, AGCos have commodities from the new world and yet little bugs with their advanced technology. I think when it comes to deciding between AGCo and JD it´s down to personal preference or in my case inside knowledge, because when you settle down on practical and monetary standpoints, they´re dead even.
Da vid I saw that vid. He compared the 8360RT with the new MT743E 😉
Those harrows are pretty neat. Be never seen one in action in person, but it looks like it does a nice job breaking open the crust and knocking down weeds. What’s the working depth on it, if you happen to know?
It is a good machine. I mentioned in the video the Kelly can run 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch.
That was cool as heck so what are all the disk running on cuz I know it can't be a bar through there is it a cable or what
It is an eye and hook chain that links it together.
Have you heard of the Upton tractor made in Australia they are still the strongest 2 wheel drive tractor
I have heard of Upton. Impressive tractor.
You should do some reviews of tractors in California
I would like to film some farming in California sometime. Stay tuned there will be a California farm featured on BTP soon.
@@bigtractorpower Awesome! Looking forward to it
Is this Remis farm?
👍
that is the cost of the implements shown in your videos
I was not able to confirm a list price on the implement to include. I know a farmer who bought a 45 ft Kelly Diamond. several years ago and he paid $90,000.
We have two that were both bought used with one season on them for about $80,000 USD. The new price for a 45’ model is around $100k USD depending on options. Kelly Diamond Harrows are imported from Australia
Jondere. 🚜
👍
nice video, I've seen pics of that harrow, Now that I know how effective that is I'd have to say I'm impressed. I've only used Diamond harrows
The Kelly creates a nice seed bed.
Hey buddy u were just about a half mile filming from one of our farms on that video
Very cool. 👍
Seen this in action in Australia proper bit of kit
don’t think it’s available in Europe but if it is let me no in the comments
Just an honest question. Does it take this size tractor to pull the kelly Harrow? thanks, Eric
In this area on red clay 450-500 plus hp seems to be the norm on this implement at 45ft. In Kelly brochures I have seen 8RTs on the 45ft.
BTP, do you believe that Harrow would work over here in Cotton Country? Thanks for another great video!
I would think it would. I have watched this implement tear up tear up crab grass and corn stalks in the spring. It’s not going to bury heavy residue or chop root balls in corn. But it will knock the stalks down and mix them in the dirt. It cotton I would think the stalk is more brittle and would knock over well. I would inquire on cotton at www.kellyharrows.com
@@bigtractorpower Ok. I was never around corn on our farms.
👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching.
Не то что у нас по старинке!!!!!
Nice machines. How much hp does it take to run one of those. Don’t see many down here
I am not sure what the horse power requirement is per foot. In this area of Kentucky all the farm’s run 45ft models with 450 to 500 plus horse power tractors.
Is this a farmer or a Custom farm co. doing the work?
This is a farm. I don’t know if any custom farming done here in Western Kentucky.
I want one
Well that that didn’t excellent job speaking of excellent job didn’t you just buy a tractor just sometime ago ago and when are we going to see it in the field
Thank you for watching. I did buy a 1981 International 4786. Stay tuned for a spring tillage video of the 4786.
The price of that Deere surprised me actually. I was thinking in 700k$ dimensions there.
The most expensive John Deere tractor on list price is the 9620RX $628,000. With gps options on the 9620RX it may push close to $700K. The 9570 size tractor is the next biggest tractor offered by John Deere on wheels and 4 tracks and the largest on two tracks.
Do you know what chain combination they are using?
I believe it is a C1 disk blade.
What kind of soil is that?
I was waiting to hear where the Kelly chain was made...
It is built in Australia. I forgot to mention that.
Nellson Stout I just forgot to mention the implement manufacturing location.
350 gallon diesel tank??
Yes. This will keep the tractor rolling all day with out a refill. In heavy tillage with a ripper running 18 inches deep this tractor may burn 22-25 gallons of fuel per hour. In a 14 hour work day which is common the tractor will consume all 350 gallons.
Wasnt this uploaded like couple weeks ago?
No this is the first time this tractor and implement have been featured on BTP. I Have featured a Case IH 470 Rowtrac and Kelly Harrow a few years ago.
Aussie made harrow?
Yes
Покажите видео как он тоскаеть 18 метровый культиватор он умрет если ему заглубить
I wonder if you would comment to the behavior of the tractor in this video. ua-cam.com/video/Nbf_NXKry38/v-deo.html I have never seen a tracked tractor on any of your videos behave like this with the constant wiggle back and forth.
It may be the sensitivity of the auto steer or the draft of the potato planter. I would say the tractor is working fine. It’s just the job it’s do is sensitive to draft.
Awesome seeing some Australian made gear working overseas 🇦🇺🤙🏻
👍 Australia 🇦🇺
