So cool
My favourite thing is that I actually know a guy, who knows a guy who works at Rockstar North. They are, of course, incredibly tight-lipped. Guy worked on the horses for RDR2 and is now a lead (for like, a team or something) on GTA VI.
@@CaptainGlack That's really, really cool. I know the leaks have cost Rockstar a bunch of money, but in my personal opinion they were incredibly cool to witness. Just raw footage of what's to come, and personally the more raw leaks the better, just obviously without story spoilers. Hopefully we get much more out of Trailer 2 than we have from trailer 1. There is a large chance that the Panhandle isn’t accessible in game, but it is a part of the State of Leonida. Like how Los Santos isn’t the entire State of San Andreas.
It might be since its meant to be the entire state and technically would make it useless since well never see the panhandle if they make it real and not in game but yet vc is only in vice city and its not the entire state so idk (sorry for yapping)
Yessss I was expecting you to do an updated review! It’s very speculative (as you know) at this stage, but we’ll be taking into account these changes when we get more info to add to the project. Thanks for checking it out again!

"Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto yet" says Rockstar. So for me no surprise, they’re talking about Leonida not Vice City. Now hope they don’t disappoint and it’s not what we expect.
One really cool addition would be an island south east of the map. Most of the map is to the left of the (0,0) coordinates with barley anything to the right. We also know bermuda triangle and island event exist in the world event list so i think its likely that there is something that extends the map further right.
As someone who grew up in Florida, I just assumed the map was just the southern half of the state. Seeing it with a panhandle looks so weird. It looks like Florida but it was shrunk using the content aware scale tool.

I feel like SERA/NASA (as a new possible agency/branch) might be a good indicator of that in my opinion!

Hear me out!! The map is absolutely big, i mean i hope they would do something similar to san andreas were they would add another country at top or by the side ( los ventures, san fiero) connected via bridges
Having a little bit of Tallahassee would be sick (even though realistically there’s nothing there but government buildings FSU, but I loved living there) and a bit of Panama City/ Panama City beac, Destin, saint marks light house, wakulla springs
in terms of rockstar adding to the map down the line, adding a cuba inspired Island to the south would be good, a climate we haven't really had in GTA games
Id still like to have a map thats not an island and actually connected to a continent, itd be more believable instead of a bunch of island cities separated yet somehow connected to the U.S
Even today R* has no issue with something like the invisible snipers stopping you in RDR2, so I see no reason they couldn’t just shoot you down if you tried to head into the greater country.
I think they should make it real simple, just like how Florida really is. Make Vice City massive, outside of the cities, FL is mainly grass & highway. They just need to add Orlando, Tampa + the Keys and can easily add more in the future. I would like to see Jacksonville, I honestly don’t care if it’s scaled to real size or not
I’m looking forward to more official trailers and screenshots to flesh it out, as it is like 95% speculation. I know that in a year’s time, we’ll have an insanely accurate version of the map.
IMO the map is going to be large because Rockstar counts on the fact they will milk VI for at least 10 years but IMO more likely 20 years :D so it has to be big to accommodate players and stories for as long as possible. Because let's face it - the V map is not bad but 90% of players are roaming around the city center and the remaining 10% travel to the other end of the map only because they cheaped out on properties and bought the cheapest bunker and what not. My wild guess is that 2% from the 10% mentioned go there only to have some "alone" time in a public session... only to get harassed by a teleporting modder :D So I am glad the map is going to be big but I only hope it won't be and feel empty like in GTA San Andreas. Anything in the desert area and basically outside the city was just "there". Nothing else. No reason to go there no reason to explore.
I hope Leonida isn’t just a giant flat wetland island in the middle of an infinite ocean and should have interesting environments like coniferous forests, small hills, grasslands, swamps, rivers, lakes, and subtropics in the southern part of the map that make it feel like Florida.
How did we go from assuming Leonidas would be connected to land to assuming it’s a big island with coast lines all around? Just because there’s a panhandle now?
Bumper sticker looks more like some kind of shield with a text at the top, and another text in its left superior part of the shield image, it doesn't look like a continuacion of the figure but something apart which is just in top of it, the color of the texture is different ant the postion doesn't feels natural to represent some kind of land.
The current panhandle design is, in my opinion, not really the final. They still need to fit the SERA area plus Fairy Land and the Orlando look-alike. There’s not enough room in this map for that. Plus, it just looks weird.
I'll be honest, this map speculation has about double the size but even more space with a whole lot of nothing. It seems the GTAV map has more city space and points of interest. Hopefully I'm wrong.
