The guy who invented pool was name Karl Poolsberg. You are way off
This is probably the most useless video I have ever made, but I had fun doing it. If you enjoyed the video, help me out and leave a comment/like to help with the algorithm. I will have some more of my standard content coming out in the next week or two.
Better browse about pool in Tamil... it would be interesting 😂😂
This was neat! I stumbled on this video trying to find out how Snooker is played lol
Honestly the best video needed to explain the variety in the term 'billiards' and 'pool'. Always needed a better explanation to convince others and this is it
I was pretty surprised when I read about all the history and how easy it was to connect the dots. Everything just made sense. Thanks for the comment.
Don't forget one pocket is also under the pool category.
Definitely is. I had a clip of me making a typical 1 pocket bank shot and I was going to include it, but something was wrong with the footage and I wasn't able to use it.
Great job bro! My daughter picked up a pool stick for the 1st time on Saturday, and was reapply interested, so here I am searching for different rules and games, keep it up, this needs more views!!
Glad I could help!
Great video! I appreciate the honesty, and how well you made the video! I wish I had the quality to my channel that you do!
This was a great video good job and your doing really good now I remember when you had 31 subs I was number 32
Thanks! I'm gonna get back to some more of my educational content since I am done with this video. I just thought that this was an interesting topic to explore. Glad you enjoyed it #32
I’m alright at pool when I play I beat my dad most of the time and he’s pretty good I would love to have a game with you tho I know I would lose but it would be awesome to do
“... YOU’RE doing...”👍
Brilliant video honestly. The best breakdown of the terms and their origins, matches what I learned when looking it up. I always wondered why the word “pool” though, now I know! Thanks
Finally someone who actually explained the difference! Google couldn’t help me
It carried over from horse races because they would often have billiard tables in their betting parlors called "poolrooms" or I suppose "poolhalls" and to pass the time between races they would play billiards, eventually calling it "shooting pool"
Throwing stuff at chickens?
Still more entertaining to watch than 14.1
Fun fact: Where I’m from you throw shit at a chicken, we turn your head into a canoe.
Well if this channel doesn't work out you can still work as an animator. That was amazing!
Well, your channel is amazing
Thanks Eduardo
Best English billiards player ever is an Australian genius called Walter lindrum. He was about nearly 100 years ago. The best 2 players in England at the time were Joe Davis and Tom Newman , Walter lindrum came over to play them and would often give them a 7000 point start first to 12000 and win. 😎
This question came in Indian Railways examination that's why i had to search it.... Good knowledge thanks for sharing...
I thought it was an interesting history. Glad it helped.
Yes and I'm studying for my examination then i had to search this Question and it's 1:38AM in India right now studying late night ✌🏻
For clarification, English billiards is a hybrid of pocket billiards and carom billiards
😂 Happy subscriber here
Well explained
Amazing video always used to get confused
Watching people talking about how people used to throw stuff at chickens? So meta, dude.
lol
Thanks for clearing a few things up.also, wat pool variation is played w/shuffleboard pieces? & i've seen in sum movies & tv shows where people place some sorta wooden pegs on the pool table
It is a game called bumper pool, but it is not very popular.
well that's a new definition of game of chicken lmao
The third video result of google in 1:31 gave me some "💀" vibes
wow this really helped me now i can say pool instead of billiards now 🎱
i'm from a more rural part of america, and we've been known to throw stuff at chickens for entertainment... on occasion...
heck, it's real fun trying to run over guineafowl with a car! it's basically impossible! lol
good times...
Country folk are something unique.
Thank you.
Commenting for the algorithm lol
Replying for algorithm
There is a pool we play in Eritrea its little different from what you explained
Some of the rules are
If you make foul you get 2 shots
U must put balck ball in the opposite pocket of ur last ball
1 and 15 must must be putin the middle pockets
Russian Pyramid is also Billiards. Just thought I'd add that.
Hi what tip are you using on your playing cue?
I have a Kamui Black medium on there right now, but it hasn't been changed for quite a while. Thinking about switching to a Kamui Clear soft.
When Pinocchio plays pool, Jiminy is upset as if it's a sign of being a bad person. This confused me for years.
There is also a Donald Duck cartoon where Donald learns geometry through billiards. I was confused for years why they weren't hitting the balls into pockets.
Yay for SEO 🎉
Clear as mud
1:20 cheeky
Throwing stuff as Chickens...so they basically played an NES game but in real life?
Looking for TL;DR?
The games you play at any bar in America can be called either name
Wait there's billiards lore
Oh yes, and much more than could ever be covered in this video.
throwing shit at chickens. lets bring that back
Bumper pool falls under which category since there is only two pockets?
I would say under the pool category since it has pool in the name.
Throwing stuff at chickens seems amusing 😂
I see a jue de la poule mobile game release in the future
@@WorldofPoolandBilliards What about throwing birds at a target. That seems fun. Even better, maybe the birds are mad at something...
Dont forget 15 ball rotation and poker billiard
I actually had Rotation in my script before, but I ended up cutting that part out. Definitely a fun game to play though, especially with some of my Filipino friends here in Korea.
Ate they all played on the same table ?
All pool games are played on the same table except for English Billiards which uses a 7ft table with Snooker style pockets.
Good Job, I watched the whole video and still don't know what you're talking about x_x
Need help remember reading somewhere about a civil war game played with no pockets please help identify
I have not idea. Perhaps check out a game called 3 cushion.
Do a jump shot form Jayson Shaw
Any specific one? Link and timestamp if you have it
World of Pool and Billiards is idk the link but can u do the Jayson Shaw Mosconi cup kick 9 ball against Skylar Woodward
We need to bring back throwing stuff at chickens. Bonus is you get to eat the chicken if you hit it in the head.
Carl pooleberg he invented it.
This guy really said Snukkr
What about simply the term pool as in pooling water (verb rather than noun)? Anyways...
Wait a minute, if french billiard falls in the category of english billiards, why don't we call them franco-english billiard ?
Edit : French billiard *IS* english billiards.
French billiards is carom billiards, played on a table without pockets. It's related to English billiards in that they both use three balls and hitting off the opponent's cue ball and the object ball scores points, but obviously the pocketing of balls isn't part of the game. The relative simplicity of the original version of the game (now usually called straight rail carom billiards) lead to overwhelming skill in hitting combos where the balls stay near each other the whole time, especially when the two target balls are in a corner, leading to the creation of the derived versions where additional conditions were placed. The balkline version draws lines on the table, splitting the surface into zones where there's a limit to how many points can be scored in one of the balk zones before the balls must be shot into other zones (the exact size and how many point are allowed in each are variants). Cushion billiards require that the cue ball also contacts a cushion before or between contact with the other balls, with three-cushion being a more difficult version of that as it requires three cushion contacts as part of the shot (naturally). Also, carom billiards balls are larger, at 61.5 mm in diameter, while English billiards uses the same 54 mm balls as snooker.
P.s. thats not the English flag thats the Union Flag.
In Farsi/Persian, pool means money
4 k its 3
Snooker is King 👌.
Thats why its played by millions all over the world... oh wait... thats pool. POOL>snooker
@@WorldofPoolandBilliards lol. Snooker is watched by millions! It's a much harder sport to master. Pool is for boys and snooker is for men.
Judd Trump would beat the Pool world champion, easy.
Very confusing lol. Snooker is my game but I love all cue sports.
Again billiard or billiards it same .however pool is American made term of game I'm Aussie in Australia we know it as billiards or billiardo but Americans has there own ways in things changed thing around it is what it is I guess how ever you play it it's still a same game you no need for newname for it to differentiated . No matter of your way on game still same .
And wth is snooker!?
Snooker is game played mostly in the UK on 10 to 12ft tables with smaller balls and pockets.
Bruh
What's the most difficult game in billard?
This is a bit of a hard question to answer. I believe to play at the top tier, it all takes about the same amount of effort and dedication. That being said, there are some games that are quite unfriendly to new players because it takes a high-level of knowledge and skill to even finish one game. I think 3-cushion may be the hardest for new players.
Nahhh i think it's the same
Asapscience?
If this video reminded you of them, then I'd say this video was a success. Thanks!
It's not snucker 😅
To-may-to, to-mah-to. Just different pronunciations.
So technically pool comes from chicken archery
Hindi please
I don't know anybody who could translate for captions... sorry
Russian billiards!
BULLSHIT! I will make it SIMPLE Pool has POCKETS Billiards DOESN'T have POCKETS, GOT IT????
can't americans pronounce the word snooker? or is it just this guy?
I think I’m the only one in the world that pronounces it right. Everybody else got it wrong.
Slow down Einstein. 🤬
The world wont wait around for me to catch up.
@@WorldofPoolandBilliardsi think blud has skill issue 💀
