How is this possible then? I have a 2010 iMac which doesn't support Metal in the GPU which I believe Sequoia needs or there will be no boot screen. This looked to have a boot screen has it had a GPU swap? by Default surely this would not support Metal.
No metal support at all. There are gpu patches which I think work to translate some calls, but there's still issues. That's why the menu bar is glitch and some apps just outright don't work (steam glitches, games etc).
Windows 11,but please max the ram to 16gb,it'll help a lot the performance, also ddr3 rams are really cheap rn,I did the same with my MacBook pro mid 2012 and it runs Sequoia and Windows 11 really good,I can also do some gaming on Windows partition. Btw,I know that my CPU is a lot Better than the one in your Imac,so mostly this did the difference, but the rams still helps a lot. Also don't forget to check if oclp did find root patches and than reboot. Also you can always check if you can upgrade the cpu and put something better
It's crazy a 15 year old computer manages to still run the newest software and still be a useable machine
Yeah. It's slow but technically you could use it to get the basics done atill
Not officially though. Apple dropped this machine ages ago.
@@PCReloaded That's proof that Apple by releasing a "new" MacOS every year in reality is forcing people to buy new macs every few years...

you need more subs man! nice vid
Thank youu
I can’t agree more
Great video 👍
Much appreciated 😊
How the heck do u have less subs than me 😭
Also great vidd
All it needs, if it doesn't have it already, is an SSD and potentially RAM upgrade
Done both already
@@PCReloaded Huh
8gb ram maxed out and a 128gb ssd (now has a 1tb ssd but as recorded it has a 128gb ssd)
@@PCReloaded ahh got it.
wait, did you need to use a USB hub to get KB and mouse working? Mine would not recognize mouse or keyboard at all, even with a USB 2.0 Hub
Used the hub built into the original apple usb keyboard
im the 998 subscriber bro

Besides the SSD and upgraded ram, it is all factory.
@@PCReloaded Yeah interesting MIGHT try Seq on my 2010. See what happens lol.
If you have a better cpu it might be usable. The core2duo is just not happy running anything newer than Catalina lol
@@PCReloaded it was an i3, I upgraded It to an i7 2.8 Quad Core and maxed the RAM to 32GB.. but the GPU REALLY lets it down and slowed it right down!
you should try it on MacBook late 2008 with 8 gb ram and ssd but you should put more ram on it but pls try it on 2008 MacBook
Don't have a MacBook rn but if I ever get one I will
Sequoia runs on my iMac 2008 with the usual maps not running but further it runs fine but slow.
1000 subs🎉🎉🎉🎉
What other things should I try and run on this iMac? (OS and programs)

@@rachneraarachnera1805 it only supports up to 6gb of ram.
Windows 8.1
Put more ram inside +2x4GB then it will run faster. More Ram, more Bandwith.
That's what I upgraded to - 2x4gb since running on just 4gb was uhhh not great
@@PCReloaded Great, but I mean 4x4GB. You use all memory slots. Else you run the machine with a handbrake.
@yorkan213swd6 This iMac only has 2 ram slots sadly
@@yorkan213swd6I think you are thinking of the Late 2009 iMac which included 4 RAM slots. The Early 2009 only had 2 slots for RAM sadly.
@@platinumstaryu5454 I have the late 09 model, one of the first few ever made along with its original Magic Mouse. The keyboard broke in 2016
you need a usb v1.0 hub
it can run? wtf
Just about lol
