    Hi, thank you for this video I like your fish. How did you drill that hole in the fish? I have something I want to hang up but I wasn't aware of the possibility to drill holes in a finished product, that is just amazing.

      I'm sure there are plenty of UA-cams on glass drilling ... Here's one of mine that includes it: ua-cam.com/video/Tg9Q38_Ag1w/v-deo.html See the complete catalog of tutorials at www.glasshoppa.com

    We sometimes have very strong winds and I have lost many windchimes over the years. Have you had problems with your glass fish breaking when it hits the copper tubing?

    • @glasshoppa2326
      @glasshoppa2326  3 роки тому

      Well it certainly could do that ... I would take precautions to prevent it.

    Want to add nichrome wire by the nose so I do not have to drill. Will I need a firing schedule adjustment de to the nichrome wire? Also while I have your attention. Thinking of subscribing to you on Patreon. if I decide to cancel at a later date, is it hard to do? Thanks

    • @glasshoppa2326
      @glasshoppa2326  3 роки тому

      No, I wouldn't think so. You should be fine as long as the wire isn't too fat. 16g or smaller. Probably the easiest way to cancel is to message me or email me and tell me you want out. Then I can send you simple step-by-step to save your from searching on your own. Hope you will join us!

      I use common kiln wash, also called shelf primer. It's only good for slumping temperatures, say up to 1250F or so. www.delphiglass.com/fusing-supplies/fiber-paper-shelf-wash/bullseye-shelf-primer-5-lb?source=froogle&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwe_f3-Os4QIVpBx9Ch3q9wj5EAYYASABEgJ2g_D_BwE see the full catalog of Glasshoppa videos here: www.glasshoppa.com

    I was able to cut the first half of the fish with no problems. On the second cut part of the tail broke off. Can I glue add a little clear powder and just add the turquoise on top and fire? Thanks

    • @glasshoppa2326
      @glasshoppa2326  5 років тому

      Yes - you don't need to add clear powder - just put the aqua section on top and it should fire fine. See my complete catalog of tutorials at www.glasshoppa.com

    what do you use the draw lines, that dos´nt disappears in the kiln ? kindly maya from Denmark

    • @glasshoppa2326
      @glasshoppa2326  4 роки тому

      Hi Maya, Usually I use Sharpie markers ... It burns off in the kiln, but it is better practice to clean it off before firing ... Just in case. www.amazon.com/Sharpie-37001-Permanent-Markers-Ultra/dp/B00006IFI3/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=sharpie+markers&qid=1599862698&sr=8-10 See the complete catalog of tutorials at www.glasshoppa.com

    Get an inexpensive propane torch and solder the copper pipe. It's strong and permanent. Soldering isn't rocket science........... (Also copper will get a dull patina over time. If you like the bright copper color, use a metal polish to get a bright golden finish. Spraying with an automotive clear coat will preserve the finish for many years.)
