That slug is outstanding. It's stable and devastating. I didn't expect it to go clear through the computer like that, and seeing it pop out the other side without looking the least bit deformed was shocking. I can't wait to see what the brass ones do.
I hate to surprise you but there really isn't too much inside of a computer. I've built my own and you'd be surprised how much empty space is in most cases.
@@BarnacleButtock I think he meant that he thought the vest would catch it. I believe that the computer actually ensured it could not catch it because it created a backstop so the sharp edge of the slug could build greater force to cut the fibers.
@@BarnacleButtock its more that the slug went clear through the kevlar panel in front of the computer than the computer itself. Like they said in the video, they've never seen any slugs go directly through the kevlar, and they've tested quite a few.
@@BarnacleButtock those Optlplex cases are amongst the heaviest frakkers you'll ever encounter in their profiles. It went through 2-3 layers of metal for the case alone not counting any components it smashed through. There may be additional bracing it went through as well given it's the desktop model instead of a tower to support a CRT monitor given it's a 3rd gen case so not super common to have lightweight flat screens yet.

On *video games*, the lasers always show up just fine and the bullets always go right where the dot is because the bullets do not simulate real-world fluid dynamics interactions between projectiles and air, nor projectile tumbling. Laser aiming devices are useful in tactical, short-range situations for obtaining a proper sight picture (lining up your front sight with your rear sights) under duress. However, in situations like these, Danny has plenty of time to aim carefully using the sights and his intuition for projectile behaviour -- something a laser can't replace.

Copper has great abilities, even though it's a soft material it can penetrate hard surfaces. Works even better in the Moulton Form. Great video. I need a lathe..
Laser sights are ok for body mass size shots at a set distance +or- 5 metres. I have mine set on an air rifle for 35 yards used in conjunction with a mildot scope and torch. I use the mildots and the laser dot for easy night ranging but I never bother in daylight.

We used to have a similar slug in Australia once upon a time. It was a ribbed copper slug, slightly smaller in diameter encased in some sort of resin.Rather than having the flat nose it had 5mm flat tip coming out of the centre of the flat face and the ribs were much deeper cut. it was a great slug. i was given 10 of them from a friend who was too scared to use them. All the box said was Australian hunter, but could never find them in the stores. Great video guys, keep up the good work.
I think that it went through the Kevlar because it was propped up against a relatively hard target. If the backup was a bit more squishy, I think that would have engaged more fibers. If you've ever sewn anything, picture trying to drive the needle through limp fabric (previous tests with the panel) vs putting a bit of tension on the fabric, the needle slides right through.
Jeff’s comments at the end of this video is why I like these guys. You can tell that they are genuinely good dudes.

For the lasers, they actually have shell shaped laser pointers that you load into the gun that give you a direct point to sight off of

Copper has great abilities, even though it's a soft material it can penetrate hard surfaces. Works even better in the Moulton Form. Great video. I need a lathe..

Laser sights are ok for body mass size shots at a set distance +or- 5 metres. I have mine set on an air rifle for 35 yards used in conjunction with a mildot scope and torch. I use the mildots and the laser dot for easy night ranging but I never bother in daylight.

I know things are getting strange for police and other first responders now.
We used to have a similar slug in Australia once upon a time. It was a ribbed copper slug, slightly smaller in diameter encased in some sort of resin.Rather than having the flat nose it had 5mm flat tip coming out of the centre of the flat face and the ribs were much deeper cut. it was a great slug. i was given 10 of them from a friend who was too scared to use them. All the box said was Australian hunter, but could never find them in the stores. Great video guys, keep up the good work.

I think that it went through the Kevlar because it was propped up against a relatively hard target. If the backup was a bit more squishy, I think that would have engaged more fibers. If you've ever sewn anything, picture trying to drive the needle through limp fabric (previous tests with the panel) vs putting a bit of tension on the fabric, the needle slides right through.
