Small farms like this one make so much more sense to me than the corporate farms that are so often shown in other videos. Great to show people how a farm works.
That is a really nice looking calf, she will have some nice beef offspring. The mirrors are nice, it was nice of them to drop the mirrors off. I really hope Brent is already feeling better, it is no fun being in pain. I hope you guys stay safe and healthy Tay.
Hi Tay, yeh, how many young ladies of your age are working at 5.30. Let's not forget you have to get up , get ready for the day, let alone the journey(all weathers) to work. The young people who think that life is a hand out need to watch these videos and LEARN HOW YOU CAN MAKE YOUR LIFE WORTHWHILE. You Brent and the girls all things relative are a benchmark to what you can do if you want to. Milk produced with care. Thanks Tay, for another entertaining vid. All my best to YOU, Brent and the girls 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🚜🚜 Give them a rub and fuss from me😊 Take care you guys MARK uk P.S. new seat covers, now mirrors...... That old workhorse is getting spoiled. But considering her contribution to the farm, she has well deserved a bit of pampering🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the videos! We just got home from state fair here in Ga. My daughter shows dairy heifers and my son shows goats. Love seeing the workings of a farm
Hey Taylor, another great one. Try to watch them all but we are doing corn here in Iowa down to 14 per cent in the fld. We are going on 6 wks with not a drop of rain and none in 2 week forcast. Beans done about 2 wks left on corn. Be safe and take care working with the cows!!!! Ia.
Hi! Everything that happened at the end of this video, terrifies the crap outta me. How calm you are blows me away. I'm afraid and I'm running right at it. It's just so amazing and beautiful.... Some day I'll be doin it. Thank you for taking us with ya. Also you might think I'm crazy, but I have 3 hand written pages in a note book all about PI count and Somatic cell count from the last time you talked about it.
Hi Taylor thanks for sharing another awesome video. Hope that Brent is feeling better soon, the new mirrors for the truck great a bit of bling very nice. Do you have things you left in your pockets flying round the washing machine?.Taylor that is on beautiful calf thanks again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Taylor, about how many calves have you hand fed? I grew up on a Family farm and always had the pleasure of feeding the new born calves. Very real experience. Wish I could join you at times like that. Brings back great memories Thank you for sharing in the style you do.
Calving can be a wonderful time or a very trying time. Glad this was a wonderful time. Great job with the truck mirrors. You do it like most mechanics would do it. Put the fasteners in your pockets. Can't lose them there. Truck looks good with the new mirrors on it. That is a beautiful calf. A little rambunctious though. I think your name for her fits her personality. Have a great day and God Bless.
Cheers Miss Taylor! Another great video! Sounds like Brent might have torn a rotator cuff. Those can take some time to heal, wish Brent a speedy recovery. All the best!
Nice video, Taylor! Lots going on with Brent under on the mend. I like the new mirrors with the chrome ? they look great and the seat cover is very nice also! The new calf is a healthy little monkey! Have a good day! I have noticed the shorter days too - fall is here for sure! 😀
Hello an electric tankless water heater will not achieve the temperatures y'all may be desiring. I would recommend switching to a gas fire tankless water heater. On my farm I use a Rinnai gas fired tankless water heater and with the controller I have and flipping a couple of dip switches I can get 180° without having a boiler. As with any tankless water heater you don't have to constantly maintain the temperature in an external storage tank in wasting energy and money. Hope this suggestion finds you well have a blessed day
Praying Brent will heal quickly. I agree with @richardhoover7569 about dehorning the bull. The guy who owned the farm I grew up on in New Hampshire, Elmer Johnson, was gored by a Brown Swiss bull in the 1960s, he was lucky to survive. He was gored through one of his lungs and flipped around. The bull got him through the bullpen fence. One of the guys had to hit the bull with a sledgehammer to be able to get Elmer out of harms way. The hit only knocked the bull out, didn't kill the bull. From that point on, any cows or bulls would be dehorned unless they were polled.
Taylor, Love your site. Am very impressed with you and you knowledge and work ethic. Of course, anyone who wants to run a dairy farm cannot be afraid of work! Just a couple things I noticed recently. You mentioned Lasix as a treatment for edema and it is. I believe you called it some kind of "acid"? Maybe that is an agricultural reference. In human form, Lasix is furosemide and it is a loop diuretic. Just curious where the acid term csm from. Also, those wrenches with a box ratchet on one end are called gear wrenches. Lastly, the mirrors that you installed were likely stainless steel. Keep up the good work. I must say though I so want to drive there and spend a week organizing your workshop. Work goes so much smoother when everything is "organized" not neat. I'm an organized slob. That means you may have to dig through a layer or two of mess but under the mess you will find what you are looking g for. To show you just how "sick" someone can be about organizing, my nut and bolt drawers are not only broke down by diameter but they are also broke down by nuts, bolts, flat washers and locks washers AND by NC and NF (I should write a medical paper in it sometime, maybe they'll blame a mental disorder after me!) Take care, kevin
Go to your local lumber yard and get a sheet of 1/8inch thick plywood. Then get a large piece of card board and scissor cut out a panel that will fit the door along with hole for mounting and window hole and door latch. Lay that on the 1/8 inch plywood and trace it out. Then cut it out with a saber saw or little bandsaw it should cut very easy. Test fit it. After it fits you have two choices...one is to paint your color you want.Two... is to glue some cloth material to the front side . Mount it.. your cost should be under forty dollars and you should have enough material left over to make one for the other side. ...make sure you paint both sides even if you put cloth on it. The paint is to protect the wood against the elements.
Another beautiful calf youngin 😮😮🥰. I know you love what you do, but I still think you would make one fine veterinarian 👍👍🙋♂️🙋♂️🙏🐄🚜. Grand daughter Miriam agrees 🤔🤔🤔. Everyone in Northeast Arkansas says hey Taylor and Brent and prayers for y'all always
That yellow truck keeps running just by a will and a wish. You never pay attention to the Check Engine Light, never check the oil, never replace the air filter, never put air in the tires. But keeps running just because you wish it to.
Hello Taylor and Brent, I just recently subscribed to your channel, I enjoy the content. I am in NH and I am a chicken farmer, but a very small flock of only 14 hens. I feel bad for Brent,, could I ask why he walks with a bad limp ? He looks like he's in terrible hip or knee pain. He has a great attitude while suffering.
Well 131 degrees probably won't be hot enough. When you read the directions on your detergent barrels they will say to dump at 120 degrees. On demand heaters have a tendency to get a calcium mineral buildup in the heat exchanger.
They make a thing called a stepladder I was thinking And then you slipped off of the fuel tank But The only broken bone I ever had I fell off of a stepladder 🤔🤷♂️😳🤣 I yi yi !
Hi Taylor and Brent, nice mixed one. Do you feed dry cows certain minerals, in terms of Ca:P ratio? Best of luck with the calvings! I also can't wait for fall spreading to start.😵💫 Keep up the great work!

take a piece of cardboard and trace out a door panel, then use a piece of 1/2in. plywood , use the cardboard to trace out the door panel!
great job I love your spunk and dedication , I love that cold milk , don't forget your heart for the genetic breed
Very cool of someone to give the mirrors.
Prayers for quick recovery for Brent. 👍🙏🐄

I finally got a low number under 200. You are unbelievable. You do more work in a day than my 2 helpers on my ranch do in a month.
I would say you slept like a baby 👶 last night 🌙 after seeing the northern light 😮😊
They make a thing called a stepladder
I was thinking
And then you slipped off of the fuel tank
But
The only broken bone I ever had
I fell off of a stepladder

Hi Blonde, a small stein less water heater is not expensive.
loved calving mine were beefers of replacement but never had to help, exciting times, still made me nervous
Does the drivers window in the big yellow truck still work? If it does, get some vice grip and clamp it on the crank, problem solved!
Good job...
Afternoon Taylor
Someone needs to donate a sound system to Yellow Dog. We'll be bumping while cruising the pastures.
If the water heater becomes a pain I don’t know if you could recirculate through a heat exchanger.
use udder comfort or other products fo rudders it worked wonders in our herd when we milked.

Yup, it in the far corner so probably you can’t see it on the videos. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Taylor the cows load in quickly.
Hi Taylor, Great video. did Brent get a new truck? I see A GMC in the background.
