I love Genshin and adore the character designs but they are quite intimidating so I haven't drawn anyone from there yet but hopefully I will sometime in the future. You have no idea how to find your channel is like a blessing for me, I just installed CSP but I was so used to my old drawing program that "the new work environment" had made me nervous about continuing my drawings - since I don't do lineart- so every piece what I did, I gave up on painting.. The way you explain it in such a simple yet detailed way helps me a lot to try to get use to it in some way, not to mention your art is amazing and it's cool to see your process always :) In short, thank you.

you are such an inspiration! thank you for sharing your knowledge. whenever i see your art, i immediately feel the urge to reach for my tablet and start a drawing
Very interesting process! I remember being given art advice along the lines of "don't draw every detail, you draw line art where there are hard shadows", obviously, whether that advice is useful depends on the art style but I think you proved that it works pretty well here. I love the rendering btw
I think that without a line very attractive results come out. I also consider that the line gives it strength, it all depends on the style and obviously what one likes to do.
I have been consistently drawing for around 8 years… Even still, learning how to render is something I am struggling with HARD. I am so used to lineart, fill, cell shade, blend, repeat. I am tired of lineart so I want to learn how to draw like this! Thank you for making this video, I will probably reference it every time I try to learn Lol
Love how you use your sketch tool as your inking tool, it wasn't much but I defintely feel like I'm doing something wrong if I dont use an ACTUAL linging tool.... I use the default opaque brush and love how uneven it is but I sometimes get scared to commit to it
The video was amazing! Very precise and detailed. And I have to say, your character turned out to be really hot. My heart even raced with those eyes. Fantastic.
this was pretty interesting to watch, was originally planning to watch while I worked on my own fanart, but ended up stopping and watching the whole thing. I first started out watching mikeymegamega's tutorial on making digital art, and I had a layer for everything, but then I got tired of having so many layers and decided to try just using 1 layer. It frees me from having to keep finding the layer that I'm supposed to be on, but then also kinda prevents me from modifying only the parts I want to modify, so I guess having some layers is the way to go
Since you share that on instagram I was waiting for this ! I love your art style so much I really like how you render skin And the music in your videos is so good 🤭
This is a very helpful video who want to render,I use line art but a thin line art mostly because I colour over it to make a render line art effect,I would recommend you to make more tutorials like this in the future as it can help a lot of artists who want to render :D
this is the epitome of "idk what im doing but im doing it anyways becuz lineart will kill me" and i absolutely respect that ToT side note this is a bussin artwork that motivated me to continue my painting project with a new approach :D
Skipping the lineart in this method is something you can do when you're more experienced and confident about rendering shapes and shadows. It can sometimes be faster and feels more organic, though it's certainly one of those 'learn the rules before you break them' sort of techniques.
Nahh thanks but I am sure you can! After all we've started drawing because it's fun and not because we're good or masters. Me neither. So everyone is having their own little journey :)
You could even skip the second sketch to save more time. A lot of artists i have seen that need to be quick go straight to the final piece from rough sketch. even seen some draw the final piece right away. It's all in what you are comfortable with. I've always been partial to going straight to the final piece after doing a quick rough draft on another page just to save time and not be stuck to the rough i had made.

I just wished you had an anatomy tutorial, but i am learning as much as i can. Also i love your messy but clean art style its crazy to me i hope to be able to draw like that one day. ❤❤❤
Aw thanks for letting me know! I am glad you like my art and process. Hopefully I can make an anatomy video in the future but right I don't feel like I have the knowledge to do that.
OMG THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME FALL INTO WRIOTHESLEY UGH CANT WAIT HIS RERUN BANNER TTTTTTTT and I really dont want to draw any linearts too this days, really I love you! now I will try your methode aww TTTT tysm!!
I adore your art style, the way you edit your videos, and the honesty in your tips/subtitles! Thank you for sharing your process. Can you please tell us what software & settings you use to screen record?
@@kurohshiroThank you for replying! Do you record it at like 30 or 60 FPS and then speed it up in a video editing program? Doesn't it take a lot of memory? O_O
yay! my style evolved into a lineless one and it's rare to see others try it out too even though I absolutely love the vibe it creates. I think this also gave me a lot of points I can improve on, seeing things I myself am not as good at yet :D my experience with trying out new stuff is that it usually has a great impact on my style(s). and whenever I try out something new, both my main style and chibi style get changes of different magnitude, depending on how much I actually had fun with the new technique I tried
That's actually very interesting to hear! But it makes sense that trying out new methods changes the way the final illustration looks like. I guess with implementing something over and over again is what makes a style distinguishable and remarkable. So trying new things and repeating the techniques we learned to like is key ^^ thanks for your comment!
I tried using this method once, separating colors by layers, eventually I was overwhelmed by the amount of layers and it kinda demotivated me from finishing the piece. 😂 It was done, but I was getting sidetracked so many times that it took me around 2-3 months to finish it up, like I really gotta force myself to finish it. 😂
That's amazing to hear! My process is pretty repetitive throughout the pieces I am doing, but I think showing it over and over again and explaining my methods may be helpful. So thanks for your comment :3
This was really helpful, since I've never been a fan of lineart! Thank you :)) oh, I was also wondering how your new brush was coming along, I love your other brushes so I'm excited for the one you mentioned before ✨
Hey! Thanks a lot! You mean the market rendering brush? I noticed that I don't use it that often which means I am not quite happy with it. I will definitely work on it more and will update people here ^^ thanks for reminding me!
clip studio has many tools im interested in, especially vectors. i saw a video where someone adjusted the thickness of their linework by adjusting something with vectors ?
I once said to myself "Hey maybe it's time to actually skip doing lineart" Made one drawing without it, second and then another and another. Not only my time improved but also it helped me a lot with colors. I still sometimes make drawings with lineart but I gotta say, skipping lineart is the besr decision i ever made
your video helps me a lot! I try to draw without lineart but die at rendering, now I know how to layering everything QWQ. And I love your art! I always follow you on Instagram, but I don't know your UA-cam channel. Your rendering skills are amazing. I will practise more as a reference. Thank you for your kind sharing!
This illustration turned out so beautiful 🤩 and can you add skin rendering tutorial on your list btw I really like how you reply to comments here and also on Instagram 😊
Aw thank you! I am always a bit worried that my replies are too repetitive or so but I want to appreciate everyone who took time to let me know their thoughts 😌 so thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for your video! It is really very useful, I wrote down some of the techniques used in the video to apply in my drawings// I sincerely admire your illustration
That looks so goood even if it takes you more than 3 hrs to make this the result is soooo worth it, I wish I could learn to draw like that. I really want to stop using linework and instead start using my tablet pen instead of my mouse to draw
I wish I had even an ounce of your patience 😅 I never even get to rendering stage 99% of the time because I get tired of working on something and move on to sketch something else. So shading/rendering has become harder and harder when I do get around to trying it... which makes me not want to do it even more 🤣 vicious cycle!!
Actually I am facing the same issue right now. I am hoarding wips which are all in the sketch stage and it's annoying me. I guess when I really really like a sketch I push myself to continue. And when this method without lineart is too overwhelming then I ink it. It's like an in between step i take to keep myself motivated. Wishing you all the best for your art :)
Thank you, I love making lineart and im good at it, but I also wanted to learn how to make art without lineart and this is the best video to learn from👏.
hi! amazing as always Kuro! i really appreciate these art tutorials on top of your amazing art style ^^. I have a question, could you please make a similar tutorial but for procreate? it's the only app i have right now and it s a bit hard to follow clip studio tutorials on procreate, since the tools seem so different T T thank you!!
Thanks for your comment! Actually I am using procreate only for making sketches because I can't wrap my head around the hand pen coordination and making it work like I used to work. I will think of it, but honestly I haven't figured out a process I am happy with yet ^^'

Your art isnt tasty like a separate food, it's a whole ass 5 star meal that only the rich can eat, and I'm so happy to be able to witness it
I LOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Your art and understanding of anatomy is so good! When i watch you draw it makes me want to draw. I am trying to figure out perspective and anatomy myself and watching you helps me understand piece by piece the parts that go together.
OMG THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME FALL INTO WRIOTHESLEY UGH CANT WAIT HIS RERUN BANNER TTTTTTTT and I really dont want to draw any linearts too this days, really I love you! now I will try your methode aww TTTT tysm!!
oh i'd love to see you draw blade from honkai star rail
I adore your art style, the way you edit your videos, and the honesty in your tips/subtitles! Thank you for sharing your process.
Can you please tell us what software & settings you use to screen record?
Ahh so happy to hear! I am using OBS studio with the default settings :)
I think this also gave me a lot of points I can improve on, seeing things I myself am not as good at yet :D
my experience with trying out new stuff is that it usually has a great impact on my style(s). and whenever I try out something new, both my main style and chibi style get changes of different magnitude, depending on how much I actually had fun with the new technique I tried
It was done, but I was getting sidetracked so many times that it took me around 2-3 months to finish it up, like I really gotta force myself to finish it. 😂
Your videos have helped me so much with establishing a process thank you so much for all of this I'd blow up pluto for your art
That's amazing to hear! My process is pretty repetitive throughout the pieces I am doing, but I think showing it over and over again and explaining my methods may be helpful. So thanks for your comment :3
Wriothesely looks so good! I love your artsyle!! I’m subbing. I also saw your Scaramouche one. Your artsyle’s amazing!
nice step by step, its clearly explain well, yet love its work..
I will definitely work on it more and will update people here ^^ thanks for reminding me!
thank you so much! this speedpaint is awesome and i learned more about clip studio paint shortcuts :D youre doing really great work !!
Oh thank you! I am glad to hear ^^
It's very interesting and important for me! Thank you!
Once again beautiful! I must touch your feet and receive your blessings, so I can prevail my art journey🌸🫶🏻 Thank you for sharing your work for free🫂
Oh I wish you all the best on your art journey! Thank you :3
this is soooo good!!!! thank you kuro, you're such a big inspiration to me🖤🖤
Thank you! I am very happy to hear that ☺️
the outline tool was genius !
clip studio has many tools im interested in, especially vectors. i saw a video where someone adjusted the thickness of their linework by adjusting something with vectors ?
Your videos are very motivating and helpful. Thank you so much for your hard work! ❤
I am glad they are! Thank you very much :)
Everyone has been talking about the character but I'm really obsessed with how they made the background that effortlessly!😭
Thank you so much for your video! It is really very useful, I wrote down some of the techniques used in the video to apply in my drawings// I sincerely admire your illustration
Oh wow thanks! I hope this is helpful :)
That looks so goood even if it takes you more than 3 hrs to make this the result is soooo worth it, I wish I could learn to draw like that. I really want to stop using linework and instead start using my tablet pen instead of my mouse to draw
Wriothesley × your art = literal perfection
Ahhh thank you 😭🙇♂️
I wish I had even an ounce of your patience 😅 I never even get to rendering stage 99% of the time because I get tired of working on something and move on to sketch something else.
Ahh thanks! Glad you like it 😌
Early ! Yeey wriotheslay !!!
The patience one must have to draw Genshin fanart. I go insane just looking at all the characters outfits that don’t make sense most of the time
Theyre so needlessly assymetrical
Amazing video and explanation, I will try then. This drawing is a complete piece, action character + background ❤❤❤
Have fun! Also thanks for your kind comment :)
wriothesley looks awesome!!
Dang, thanks for showing me the posing site! :D
Very cool art! Love your style
Thanks a lot!

love it! I'll try it!!♥ thanks for the video
Oh thanks! Have fun :)
you dont need line art, line art needs you
AAAAA this is so good! Will you ever make a tutorial on how you draw bodies?
hi! amazing as always Kuro! i really appreciate these art tutorials on top of your amazing art style ^^.
I love this style.
Thank you!
I love drawing like this but it's definitely trust the process... process haha
