Thanks guys! I just bought a used Mastersbilt! cant wait to get to work!
Good luck!!! We have learned so much from running ours. Great way to get some seat time on the dirt! Thanks for watching!
Make sure to start your cuts at the pressure side of the block. Ring cuts start front to back, front being the direction of travel. Face cuts on right side tires make sure the outside to inside. Left side goes inside to out. Never sipe deeper then credit card width. Grind before you sipe. Grind left side tires with the outside facing you right sides insides facing you. Hard tires need lots of edges that are sharp.
We need someone like you to help us out at the track. It is all we can do just to get the basics done before the race begins.
Hey I enjoy seeing all the hard work behind the scenes ! We work on pure stock dirt car and like you say a lot of work ! From mobile al !
Thanks for watching! Good luck and Roll Tide!!
Cool thanks
No problem
I like tire work I find it relaying and I cut according to track but always start with basic design like you did on front tire cut more if track will allow if same with rear as may shap corners as possible in contact with the track with out blistering/chunking the tire and of course sipping is also all about track conditions and length of race as well
We usually run 20 25 lap features and most tracks will be slick and black once the rain moves out. Any thoughts on sipes for those conditions?
@@LateModelGarage if it is slick and black, your biggest concern is heat. On a track like that I like to keep the sipes shallow at no more than 1/2-3/4 tread depth and I like to keep my sipes spread out a bit further. If your sipes are too close and too deep you'll get a lot of tread flex causing heat and will most likely chunk out the tread blocks. Hope that helps some.
Don’t forget to soak them in the tire tuner
LOL. We will be lucky just to get four new tires mounted and grooved. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I've got a similar regrooving machine. What is the knob that says shift for ? Also where do you guys buy the blades , my machine didn't come with any instructions as what brand blades to buy that would fit the head. Thanks for any info.
Never inflate with the bead lock faceing you
It's scary inflating all of these tires. A new longer whip for the inflator is keeping our heads clear now!!! New content soon!!!
Nice little cost effective tool! I cut my RF the same I just run my diagonal cuts from RF to LR so that the blocks are straight ahead when turned to the right. I don't know if that's the right answer or not but just my preference like you guys said ask 100 people and get 100 different answers!
It seemed risky when we bought it... but it works pretty good. I have been on vacation so I am behind on email. Good luck this weekend if you get out!!!
I love doing tires, and grinding, put on my music and leave me be and let me do my thang !!!
GETTING IT DONE!!!
Where do you get the right blades for that machine I have the same machine but I can't find the right blades
We buy All Star blades in a variety of sizes . They fit pretty good!
At 6:48 I see you guys do the siping of the tires at an angle what is the difference from someone that does them straight across the tire. Is there any advantage?
We are not sure if there is an advantage or not. Seen cars win with straight blocks and cut on the angle. Seems to be different for each driver.
The RR looks good though just watch your depth on your sipes too deep will chunk out a tire and it will turn into 170 bucks out the window
It is always a little scary when you cut into that fresh 170 dollar tire. LOL
U should either blow tge tire up to tge chalk mark or lately hoosier has told us to blow them up to 25 lbs and let sit for 10 mins then let down to runnin pressure
Do you do this every week or just when mounting a new tire?
Just when mounting new tires or when u flip them.
10-4!
Tires are no fun for sure. Just keep keeping on
More to do this weekend. We want some fresh rubber to hit the track with!
Are you going to race in Ohio or West Virginia like Atomic or WVMS? I like your channel, good luck.
The closest we will race to that area is probably Moler Raceway Park near Bethel, OH. We have considered racing Atomic or Portsmouth for something different. Thanks for watching!
U guys know thats a chalk mark. Thats what we used yo blow the tire up too tgen its usually 3in smaller in Hoosiers that chalk mark isnt what the tire is suppose to measure.
We are not for sure what the mark means.
@@LateModelGarage yes that's it means if the chalk mark says 95 it should actually measure 92 in the rule of thumb is about 3 in smaller than tge chalk mark
What year is this chassis? It looks good
'08 I believe
We started off thinking it was an 08'. When Tater came by he called the office and ran the chassis number and found it was sold in 2006 to a distributor in Ohio.
Your angles are going the wrong way for a right front tire. Always run circumference grooves and on a right front tire always trace your lines. And keep everything as neat and straight as possible. Siping depends on your track surface on a soft tire I wouldn’t sipe the tire much. When you get to a hard tire like a 1600 sipe the tire a lot more aggressively
Could you give some reference as to which way you like to groove the front tires? We have debated doing them a little different.
Rubber lube gentlemen....rubber lube!
Inside or outside? 😆
