I saw the Osmond Family in concert in Las Vegas in 1973. I was 14 & had crushes on most of them. Lol! What I remember most is how talented they were musically. The harmonies were amazing, and they all play multiple instruments. At one point they all played saxaphone at the same time. Truly great, talented performers!
Donny and Marie in their later teen years had a network variety show "The Donny and Marie Show" where they had musical numbers with guests and comedy skits. They had a regular segment on their show where they sang an intro where Marie sang "I'm a little Country" and Donny would answer with "I'm a little Rock and Roll" and they sang duets of each type of song which were covers of popular songs of the time. They were good together and their careers went long after the main group with the older brothers faded away....but the whole family appeared on Christmas Specials singing together and reprising their old act.
Yes I remember there variety show quite. But come on you have to admit that it really was not very good. Actually it was way too Goody Goody for any consideration as far as quality on TV. If you were young when that TV show was on I'm sure you would have liked it and that is the difference between a show standing on its own merits and fans that like anything a certain person does. If you are around 14 years old at the time this show was on TV I'm sure you have great fond memories. To anyone older than that age we generally found it to be just a little bit too Goody Goody.
One more song by the Osmonds that you REALLY need to check out is He ain't heavy, he's my brother! Awesome song!! And you still need to check out the 2 most famous Osmonds. Donny Osmond and his song go away Little girl, and his sister Marie, and her song, paper roses!
Great suggestions here .. Marie for "Paper Roses" AND Donny for "Puppy Love"!! Also one of their duets with them both singing "A lil bit country, A lil bit rock and roll".
Amber's mom sounds so cool! She knows all the good music and all the good movies lol! Donny - Puppy Love Marie- Paper Rose's Donny & Marie - I'm A Little Bit Country. I'm a Little Bit Rock n Roll.
Merrill Osmond co wrote this song and was the lead singer. The osmonds were a very talented family. For another talented family during that era, check out the Cowsills who were a mega talented family of all boys except their baby sister Susan. They did a cover of Hair that was phenomenal. Also they had other great sixties style songs like The Rain, the Park and Other Things. The Partridge Family TV show was based on them.
The song "He Ain't Heavy He's my Brother" for their 50 reunion with the two oldest brothers doing it in sign language (they were born deaf) is pretty good.
The lead singer is Merrill. In fact, he sings lead on more than 90% of their songs. The other brothers are: Alan, Wayne, Jay and of course Donny. The reason why they are so in sync with their dancing and singing is because they spent 7 years as regulars on The Andy Williams Show, beginning when they were grade school age. You can see their progression as singers, dancers and musicians by watching clips on UA-cam (from the Andy Williams Show). OH, and among them they play more than 30 different instruments.
I knew they played a lot of instruments -- sax, keyboards, guitars, drums, what all else do they play? I got to see them live -- the whole family -- in Oklahoma City, summer of 1984 (or 83?) don't remember for sure, and stayed down in the parking lot until 1 a.m. with a group of other die hards to get to meet them. :) What a thrill!
@@LoriPeace Some of the other instruments they play are: piano, banjo, percussion, trumpet, trombone, bass (the big standing one), clarinet, violin, bagpipes, tambourine, xylophone, recorder, tuba, flute .... of course not every member plays every one of these instruments. Hope you enjoyed the show in Oklahoma. My first time seeing the entire family perform was Vegas 1978. Saw them again in '79, '80, '81, '82, '83, and '84. Met them countless times, although only met Marie once ... in '79 (Vegas).
@@sydneym4340 I LOVED the show in Oklahoma. I had seats up in the nosebleeds of the stadium. I'd bought myself a telephoto lens for my camera, just special for that occasion, and still could barely see them LOL. Donny arrived by helicopter -- I don't really remember how the others came out. When I got to meet them at the end of the show, the four older brothers and Jimmy came out first, and they stood around and chatted, signed autographs -- really great. Donny came out next and took off at a fast walk for the limo. One other young woman and I trotted along beside him and got autographs -- I don't know if anyone else did. I was ... disappointed. When I got back to the rest of the group, Marie had come out and was buried. I stuck my arm in with my book, and when I pulled it out, it was signed, presumably by her. LOL I'd actually taken a "novelization" of Goin' Coconuts, rather than an autograph book or an album for them to sign, because I wanted to stand out from the crowd. I remember Jay looked at it and said, "Where did you get thie?!?" I told him it came out about the same time as the movie, and he laughed and said, "Well, let's hope that never comes out again."
@@sydneym4340 I also got to see Donny in concert in 2002, when he was at the Turning Stone in Central New York. I told my mother-in-law I wanted to go and was planning on getting tickets, and she said, don't worry, I'll get them for you. When my husband and I arrived at the venue, the guy at the door looked at our tickets and said, "I'll show you to your seats." I assumed we'd be back in the nosebleeds again, and I was okay with that -- I mean, free tickets, right? The guy started walking us around way to the far right of the auditorium, and I thought, oh, no, we're going to be behind a pillar or something. Got almost down to the front where there was a couple of rows of tables and chairs and he started walking to the center. My sweet mother-in-law had gotten us seats at a table in the front row, just to the left of the little steps that go up onto the stage. When Donny came out to sing, I was maybe 20-30 feet away from him. JAW DROP Best mother-in-law EVER. Not to mention an amazing concert!
I watched an interview of the Osmonds where the brothers explained how they could all play so many instruments and dance so well. The family didn’t have a lot of money so each brother went to different types of music lessons and then they would return home and teach the rest of the family what they just learned. They spoke of having to pay close attention in their lessons because their family was depending on them to explain what to do. I remember Alan also took karate lessons and he incorporated some of those moves into their choreography. The plan worked; they all became proficient enough to play multiple instruments although they each specialized on certain ones. Any way you look at it, they’re incredibly gifted but they invested a ton of sweat equity by practicing. They have such a work ethic. They’re known as “the one-take Osmonds” because they’re so well rehearsed that they perform perfectly the first time and don’t need more takes.
I crushed on Donny before I even knew what boys were. Lol I was 5 years old when Puppy Love would come on the radio when I was getting ready for school. I would put my ear right up to the speaker of the radio and be in heaven. Other than Donny, I didn't like boys at that age! Lol
Marie Osmond was only 13 years old when she released her song Paper Roses and it went to number 1 on the country charts. You also need to check out some of Donny’s later songs like Soldier of Love. When it came out, Donny had been so pigeonholed as a teen idol that none of the radio stations would play his newer songs. A station finally started playing Soldier of Love, but they kept it a secret who was singing it. It wasn’t until a tremendous number of people requested the song that they finally told who it was.
I remember that. They would say we have a new song to play but the artist was a secret. It was rockin! I had no idea it was Donny Osmond, until they later told who it was.
I'm so glad you started doing reactions to the Osmonds. Bit of history: two oldest brothers are deaf, which is the reason Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay began singing, to raise money for hearing aids; began singing at Disneyland and later were regulars on the Andy Williams Show; Donny, Marie, and Jimmy followed a little later; they have been in show business for over 60 years; most have retired by now; Alan has multiple sclerosis, Wayne had a brain tumor removed, Jimmy suffered a stroke; they play over 30 instruments; Donny and Marie had a show that ran 4 (?) years; Alan's 5 sons perform as The Second Generation Osmonds (son David also has MS); the 4 original singing Osmonds were in a show called The Travels of Jamie McPheters (not sure that's spelled correctly); Donny performed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Listen to him sing Any Dream Will Do). It's from 7 years ago with Maria Friedman and the late Richard Attenborough. I could go on and on, but I'll just sit back, listen, and enjoy the Osmonds! Thank you for your great reactions.
Also because of their oldest brothers all the Osmonds are fluent in ASL. If you watch the behind the scenes footage of Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" (in which Donny Osmond made an appearance as Al's hype man), you'll see Donny fingerspell "ROTFLOL" really fast.
I've been fortunate to meet David and Valerie a few times and been to some of David's concerts. Sweetest couple and their kids are so cute too! David has an amazing voice!
Gonna age myself here but I too had a huge crush on Donnie Osmond. I even painted my room in purple because purple was his favourite colour. I had Donnie posters everywhere in my room. Thanks for this big blast from the past. Tell your Mamma she has great taste.🥰🥰🥰
They are, indeed, one o those "genius families". They all play multiple instruments, and Donny has just such an incredible voice, but their harmonies are killers. That's Merrill singing lead, Jay on Drums, Alan on lead guitar, and Wayne on bass. As well as Marie, the youngest brother often joined in, and they have two older brother, Tom and Virl, who are hearing impaired. They got their start as little boys, Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay, performing barbershop quartet music at Disneyland. . They did a phenomenal cover of the Temptations Can't Get Next to You.
I was lucky enough to see Donny in Joseph and the Amazining Technicolor Dreamcoat. And then Marie in The Sound of Music. That family was wicked talented. Check out Marie's "Meet Me in Montana."
A Must listen for them is "Yo Yo" !! It's a fun song, but also really show-cases what an incredible singer the lead singer/brother Merrill is with his gravelly voice. He would have made an incredible solo rock singer. There is a Live video of them singing on the Flip Wilson show. The video is titled "The Osmonds (video) Yo Yo"... Seriously guys, you will love it, and I recommend this as your next reaction to The Osmonds.
I believe yo yo was one of the songs they recorded that was originally written for the Jackson 5, Joe Jackson passed on it, and The Osmonds wound up with it.
Fun facts: The Osmond brothers started performing to help fund hearing aids and treatment for the two oldest Osmond children who were deaf. Donny still performs onstage in Vegas and was the Peacock on The Masked Singer a couple of years ago. He can still put on a show, even if he is the father of 5 and grandfather of 22. Even though most teens and young women in the late 60s and early 70s would’ve died to meet him, he’s been married to his HS sweetheart since he was 20.
Donnie Osmond ("little guy") had some really good hits back in the 90s: "Soldier of Love" and "Sacred Emotion." And if you've watched Disney's Mulan with your kids you've heard him sing "I'll Make a Man Out of You."
The Osmonds and Yo Yo from one of their I've TV appearances is awesome. Their choreography is really great and Donny really shines. They really were and are so talented.
Jay was on the drums, Wayne and Alan on guitars, Donny on keyboard. Marie and Jimmy both sings and play instruments. There are 2 older brothers that can dance and plays instruments but was born hearing impaired. Merrill did most of the lead singing.
Back in the '70's, we were all in love with both the Osmond brothers & the Jackson brothers. Donny Osmond was the first album I ever owned. Loved it! He was such a heart throb! Definitely do "Crazy Horses". It's actually a little bit different from most of their tunes but it's def a banger! "YoYo" is my favorite. So much energy!! Also you mentioned sister Marie. "Paper Roses" was her big hit. She's stunningly beautiful! (Great one for Female Friday!) (You've probably seen her on the weight loss Nutrisystem commercials!) She had a beautiful duet with Dan Seals (brother of Jim Seals of Seals & Croft) called "Meet Me in Montana". Hope some day you do that one.
I was going to suggest YoYo as another song as the choreography of the dancing moves is so good while they still deliver their awesome vocals. I definitely also recommend crazy horses; didn't even know they did that one until about a year ago. That was about the time when the Osmond's came up on YT recommendations for me. I became a fan all over again and have even more appreciation for them now than then.
I'm with your Mum and loved them since the early 70's. And, even better, yesterday I bought tickets to see Donny in Cardiff, Wales in December. Love from Yorkshire, England ❤️
The Osmonds we're the original boy band! Those brothers have the best harmonies on so many kinds of music!! SO MUCH TO SEE AND LEARN from this amazingly talented family! They did a Motown Medley that is killer!!
So glad to see The Osmonds on your channel, again! Yes, their sister, Marie, had a hit single when she was 14 years old, called Paper Roses. The youngest Osmond, Jimmy, had a big hit record called Long Haired Lover From Liverpool. I think he was around 10 years old, but not 100% sure about that age. I just know he was young. Merrill was the lead singer on this song, and it's always been one of my favorites. Merrill has a wonderful voice, but they all sound awesome. Donny was, and still is, quite popular, but I'm a bigger fan of Jay, the drummer. He was one of the top ten drummers nationwide back in the 1970s. I believe he was in his early 20s at the time. For a more slower pace of their music, may i suggest: The Proud One; Love Me For A Reason; Let Me In; He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother; Rainin'; Where Does An Angel Go When She Cries; and " I Think About Your Lovin All the Time" (you can hear Wayne's deep voice in this one); and "If Every Man Had A Woman Like You". The last three songs i listed are from their album/cd Greatest Country Hits (one of my favorite albums of theirs) and features the original four Osmond Brothers. For a more "hard rock" sound, listen to Hold Her Tight, One Way Ticket to Anywhere, and I Can't Live A Dream. As a subscriber, i really appreciate the enthusiasm you guys show when listening, not just to the Osmonds, but also to other performers. You could say "it's contagious" because i find myself smiling and movin' to the music. Love it!
Yes. Yes listen to Jussina. You must listen to Puppy Love. Hey J forgive me if I butchered your name. Maybe you go by Jussina. Either way it's a unique name.
Marie is the country girl of the group. Her biggest song was she did was called paper roses so if you ever get a chance to hear her songs you can’t you have to hear her. Her voice is so country that you can’t believe that she came from a Rock family
Goose bumps! Aaaww...you all listening & watching these historically wonderfullyrics talented & sweet guys, the "Osmond's"!!!!! A fan for life!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
YES! They are one of the 'genius families' that can do anything. They are all about having fun in music. Limited because of their religion, though they really wanted to rock out. ... they are a sensation that swept across the WORLD, not just the U.S.
This is so cool! The first concert I ever went to was the Osmond Brothers! Major teen idol energy at this concert. Later in life as a DJ, I went to a ton of concerts, but never experienced this teen idol excitement and energy until...I took my daughter to see NSYNC! All the girls around me were going crazy and they put on a great show with singing and dancing just as high energy and entertaining as the Osmond Brothers did. In later years there was a TV show starring Donny and Marie Osmond. They were fun and funny! Marie recorded country songs and one I really liked was one she recorded with Dan Seals called "Meet Me in Montana" which has been re-recorded by other artists.
We were in Vegas last week and went to see Donny Osmond (simply billed as Donny). He did a request segment and One Bad Apple was requested. Donny and his dancers performed it. They all quickly dressed in their 70s retro outfits and the colours each of the brothers represented, with Donny in purple. It was really an amazing show, very entertaining. ✌️🇨🇦
Love that someone is giving The Osmonds their dues. I've been a fan for 52 yrs and always will be. Hold Her Tight and Crazy Horses are a couple of rockers. Life Is Hard Enough Without Goodbyes is an awesome song. Slower tempo but cool vibe, guitar is great...I could see Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd doing it. For real live Osmonds, look for Ohio State Fair videos around 1972. Keep On Jammin'
Loved hearing this again. Marie Osmond didn't sing in her brothers band, but in 1973 at the age of 14 she reached #1 on the Billboard charts with her debute song "Paper Roses". She later had a TV variety show with her brother Donnie.
the ORIGINAL boy band!!! As you dive down this rabbit hole, pay attention to their harmonies. The familial blend is unreal. Pretty much some of the best five part harmony I’ve ever heard! He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother is a good one.
Gosh this takes me way way back!! I had such a big crush on Donny that lasted like 12 yrs. The Osmonds were a big and talented family. Marie was the only girl and was born after Donny. Then after her was the final kid- Jimmy who did at times join in to sing at times. He has a hit song once when he was around 12. The Osmonds that you don't see but in the occasional family holiday special was- Tom and Virl(?). They were the eldest Osmonds, and also deaf. That's why they weren't singing in the group. Donny even these days has had his own Vegas show. He's 5 yrs older than myself. The family has always been strong in their Faith as Mormons.
A whole lot of people tried to write them off as just a pop group but they did some really rockin' work on their Crazy Horses album! Having seen them in concert I can tell you they always gave you an amazing show. Definitely check out Crazy Horses, but also Just Like A Yo-Yo is really fun. And then there is Donny's solo stuff that had all of us little girls swooning. 😁 You totally made my day!
The Osmond brothers and the Jackson brothers grew up making music for us all. Donny and Marie Osmond had their own variety show on TV for a couple years. He’s done Broadway “(“Coat of Many colors”) too.
My bedroom walls were covered with Osmond posters (Merrill was my favorite) for a couple of years in the early 70s. Donny still performs in Las Vegas and so does their one sister, Marie. They both also do limited tours. Donny and Marie had a great variety show and hosted nearly every big name in the business.
Love love love the Osmonds brothers ....Donnie osmond was a cutie bk in the day down by the lazy river was a all time hit puppy love and one bad apple 🍏 was a awesome song
Marie is very talented. She and Donny had a hit TV show in the 70's. Obviously, it was called the Donny and Marie Show. You should check out some episodes.
This was a ginormous hit in 1970, along with their other big hit, "One Bad Apple." I had just "left the nest" and set off on my life's journey in the Summer of '70 and was working in Tulsa as a disc jockey at one of America's top Top 40 stations, "The Big 97," KAKC. We played the ever-lovin' snot out of this record. Then the Osmonds came to town and played the big concert arena in Tulsa. Being with the radio station that was presenting the show, I was more or less obligated to go, even though the Osmonds weren't exactly my cup of tea. (Teeny-bopper kiddy band.) But I went. And I believe today, 53 years later, my ears are still ringing from the experience. I never had the privilege of seeing The Beatles perform live, but we've all seen the footage of the Beatles' adoring fans -- all those teenage girls, screaming and shrieking their lungs out. Well, attending this Osmonds concert was pretty much the same, except the ages of the screaming girls was, on average, about 5 years younger. It was the teenage girls and their younger pre-teen sisters who attended this show (and the poor unsuspecting boyfriends who had to endure it). For the duration of the show, I couldn't hear a single note the band played over the din off all the screaming girls. And whenever little Donny Osmond stepped up to the mic, it was so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think. I've sat in the front row of some very loud rock concerts, including Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer, and Paul McCartney & Wings, but none of those shows left me feeling like I might never regain my hearing again quite like that Osmonds concert did. There's no denying the talent these guys possessed. And I know they were wizards in the studio. But I have always considered that concert to be one of the two worst concerts I ever attended (the worst being Steppenwolf in Kansas City, KS in 1969). But honestly, in 1970, if you were an 11 or 12 year old girl, I'm sure this record was right up your alley, and you probably had covers of 16 Magazine with Donny Osmond's face on the cover tacked up on your bedroom wall. Me? When i got home from that concert, I just wanted to wash off.
"The Partridge Family" Television Series Was Inspired By This Real Life Family Group,, The Cowsills "The Rain,, The Park And Other Things"..A MUST HEAR Classic!!
Growing up in a Christian household, the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds were the only groups we could safely listen to that my parents knew about. Lol But this video also shows not only the dance moves but they also ALL play instruments and write their own songs.
Marie sang a lot of songs that had a country slant to it. As a matter of fact Donnie & Marie had a variety show for a few years where every week they would sing a song where Marie said "I'm a little bit country" and Donnie would reply "And I'm a little bit rock n roll." Also, Donnie was infamous for occasionally wearing purple socks. One day I wore a pair of socks to school that were bluish purple and for about a month my classmates called me Johnny Osmond. 🤣😂
Thank you reacting to the Osmonds! I am a subscriber, and just wanted to let you know that the two of you are favorites of mine. Keep up the great reactions!
They all are truly talented! I love them so much and had all their albums. A few years ago Donny won dancing with the Stars! I grew up watching his show with Marie, it was great!
WOOHOOOO!! Thanks for finally reacting to this one. :) Crazy Horses is the title you were thinking of. Yo-Yo is another big hit of theirs y'all should check out sometime. Marie had several hits but she was mostly a country music artist. I think however that she did put out an album of opera a year or two ago called "Unexpected". Their music has always made me smile like a fool and sing along.
Grew up listening to them! Went to see them in Portland, Oregon, my first ever concert. My walls were plastered in their posters, Donny especially!! Still Love & follow them. Still have all my old albums, one of my favorite songs was Chilly winds, it wasn't one played on the radio that I know of but I loved it & played it at home often on the old turntable!
I fell in love with Donny Osmond when I was 12 years. I live in Norway. Now I am 61. Had big poster of the handsome Donny on the wall in my room for many years. "Puppy love"❤ his voice back then😊 true first love
I saw Donny perform as Joseph in the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He was amazing!!! At one point they fly him over the audience and they had to stop him mid flight as the technicians controlling him could not hear anything over the noise of the crowd. Everyone was on their feet screaming and cheering. Donnie eventually had to motion with his hands for everyone to sit down. Only then were they able to continue on with the play.
Hi J & Amber 🤗 "Meet me in Montana" is by far Marie Osmonds BEST song ever in my opinion! I really hope you two will react to it on your Female Fridays! It's a Duet & it's a very Beautiful song! Please I implore you... I guarantee you & your viewers will Not be disappointed. Also the Osmond Brothers "like a Yoyo" is fantastic too, but try not to react to the studio version. Please do a guest appearance on a show or a concert version so we can see their awesome dance moves as well. Thank you both for bringing the great music of yesteryear back into our lives & introducing it to new generations. Music is Food for Our SOULS! GOD Bless you both & your precious lil'ones too, they're so adorable!
I just discovered they've got the Osmonds cartoons here on UA-cam! I could not be more excited after this reminder of how awesome they were. Between them and the Jackson 5ive we were well served as kids.
What a great blast from the past. The wonderful blended harmonies of The Osmonds were such a treat. Always 100 % professional, and their TV show just so enjoyable. Great reminder of a great time. Great reaction.Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Yessss! Thank you! My absolutely favorite one, because it always cheered me up. I can't believe it... I still know all the words! Thank you, this was great!
Now I know where the Brady Bunch got their dance moves. Lol This really takes me back to my childhood. Loved watching Donny and Marie when I was little. Can’t wait to see more.
Donny was my teenage heartthrob. The wall over my bed was covered with pictures of him from the teen magazines of the day. Thanks for taking me down memory lane!
I dont CARE what ANYBODY says, i dig this song, always have! 💕
As Donnie said in One Bad Apple: "I don't care what they say, I don't care what you've heard now!"
This has all the elements of a perfect pop rock song, it rocks better than any of the garbage that you'll here today!
chab1rd155- I remember the few people that didn’t like the Osmonds still liked that song!
This one is my favorite by the Osmonds.
Osmonds never got the respect they deserved.
When I was little, I loved the Osmond Brothers and The Jackson Five. Wow, what a blast from the past!
I loved the cartoons, remember Fuji?
YES!! Can't wait for them to get to Donny's songs. They need to show these and Jackson 5 to their girls!
Me too. Donny and Michael posters all over my walls.
BTW She are we going to get more Jackson 6 reactions? The Love You Save, I'll Be There, ABC, Mama's Pearl or Dancing Machine to name a few.
*Jackson5
The most talented family on the planet. The Osmonds!
And Marie had a successful line of dolls on QVC. Sweet faced with big eyes .. like Marie!
We watched that every week! Greg, does this song bring back memories or what of our youth, yeah?
That show was a HUGE deal for me!😍
Yes I remember there variety show quite.
Remember all that!
Can you imagine how much energy it took for all that dancing while singing and playing instruments!
Merrill is singing lead, you need to hear him sing He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. So so good!
YES! This song by them is a MUST!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
One of the few times that I prefer a cover (Osmonds) to the original (Hollies).
Listen to YoYo..

"Down by the Lazy River"
Don't forget the youngest Osmond... Jimmy! "Long haired lover from Liverpool" he was the UK's youngest person to reach #1 in the Charts!
One more song by the Osmonds that you REALLY need to check out is He ain't heavy, he's my brother! Awesome song!! And you still need to check out the 2 most famous Osmonds. Donny Osmond and his song go away Little girl, and his sister Marie, and her song, paper roses!
Also PUPPY LOVE
Don't forget "Meet Me in Montana" Marie with Dan Seals. Big Country hit!
"A Little Bit Country" by Donnie and Marie. They used to sing it every week on TV 🎶 🎵 💃 🕺
The Osmonds Don't write their own music and are not musicians.
Great suggestions here .. Marie for "Paper Roses" AND Donny for "Puppy Love"!! Also one of their duets with them both singing "A lil bit country, A lil bit rock and roll".
I almost forgot...Elvis and Chuck Norris helped the Osmonds with studying martial arts. Elvis also influenced them to wearing jumpsuits.
Amber's mom sounds so cool! She knows all the good music and all the good movies lol!
Donny - Puppy Love
Marie- Paper Rose's
Donny & Marie - I'm A Little Bit Country. I'm a Little Bit Rock n Roll.
Also Donny and
Marie- deep purple
We really feel that they are having fun and it's communicative

I believe they did the song Indian Lake! I know that song because not far from where I live, is a lake and town CALLED Indian lake.
"We Can Fly" was another good Cowsills' song. They also did the original theme for the show Love American Style.
I saw the Cowsills play at Nicholls State in Thibodaux La. in the late 70's.
I had such a crush on Merrill. Donny too, but Merrill had my heart! ❤❤❤
Crazy Horses
I love the Osmonds!! Down by the lazy river is an awesome song! The little guy Donny is so cute!
Marie is their sister. With EIGHT brothers. Bless her!! She has a big catalog as well. She and Donny did a bunch of duets.
Wow I didn't know they play 30 different instruments. What an amazing family.
LOL
I'd actually taken a "novelization" of Goin' Coconuts, rather than an autograph book or an album for them to sign, because I wanted to stand out from the crowd.
They play so many instruments....trombone, saxophone, banjo....
Love your comment!
They were karate trained later by Chuck Norris. So much discipline. I’m so proud that they te getting discovered by youngers
We loved our Jackson 5 and The Osmond Brothers. It was a funny childhood. Donny was my first crush too.
I crushed on Donny before I even knew what boys were. Lol I was 5 years old when Puppy Love would come on the radio when I was getting ready for school. I would put my ear right up to the speaker of the radio and be in heaven. Other than Donny, I didn't like boys at that age! Lol
They did a wonderful rendition of the Hollies “He Ain’t, He’s my Brother.” Such an awesome musical family!
Kenny Rogers Through the years is a good one too
Marie Osmond was only 13 years old when she released her song Paper Roses and it went to number 1 on the country charts.
I forgot she was so young when she recorded Paper Roses! So much talent in that family.
Yes Soldier of Love story with that DJ giving him the play. That was awesome
I remember that. They would say we have a new song to play but the artist was a secret. It was rockin! I had no idea it was Donny Osmond, until they later told who it was.
Paper 🌹🌹🌹!
And just recently on the show claim to fame Donny Osmond's son was on that
The Osmonds could song, dance, and play their own instruments. As a kid I was soo in love with Donny.
The original Boy Band but we’re actually a band
Just like a”Yo Yo” was another real rocker from the Osmonds that received extensive airtime on the radio stations.
THANK YOU, GUYS!! Yes, Marie, she sang as well! Crazy Horses is one. But I think you will enjoy the showmanship on Yo-Yo! You can’t lose!! ❤❤❤
Ooh. I forgot about yo-yo
Paper Roses is always my fave Marie. Cheesy I know 😆
Yes, and there's a great "Yo Yo" clip from the Flip Wilson Show.
YoYo is great, but Crazy Horse’s delves into metal, and it’s bad🍑 they need to do both.
Oh yes... check out Yo Yo please!
Gonna age myself here but I too had a huge crush on Donnie Osmond. I even painted my room in purple because purple was his favourite colour. I had Donnie posters everywhere in my room. Thanks for this big blast from the past. Tell your Mamma she has great taste.🥰🥰🥰
Crazy Horses is a really good Osmonds song. Quite hard rocking and not something you'd expect from them.
It’s rock/metal, that’s why it’s awesome. 👍
Yayyyy!!! I’m so glad you did this one! Awesome…next up…Crazy Horses!👏🏻👍🏼
I’ve been on here simping for Crazy Horses lol. I think that album was “Donnie is going through puberty, so here’s some rock” stage.
Donny Osmond drove the girl’s absolutely insane in the 70s ❤
I was lucky enough to see Donny in Joseph and the Amazining Technicolor Dreamcoat. And then Marie in The Sound of Music. That family was wicked talented. Check out Marie's "Meet Me in Montana."
Saw Donny in Joseph also. It was so great! We just loved it!!!!
Saw Donnie in Coat of Many Colors during a run in Toronto.
Merrill was the lead on this
Crazy Horses
That is a very pretty song.
Marie Osmond was like humongous, total icon girls and boys!
Oh yeah, little Donny sings a lot of solo on Yo Yo too !!
I believe yo yo was one of the songs they recorded that was originally written for the Jackson 5, Joe Jackson passed on it, and The Osmonds wound up with it.
@@clueliss151 Wow, great story. Thanks
Fun facts:
The Osmond brothers started performing to help fund hearing aids and treatment for the two oldest Osmond children who were deaf.
He was also in the play Joseph and the technicolor dream coat.
Soldier of Love and Sacred Emotion were from the 80s
@@David_Theisen You're correct - 1988 and 89. I thought it was later than that.
Yes. I have it. A great CD.
Oh man! Once again I’ve forgotten another one! Soldier of Love was great!! I just need to look up their whole discography so I can remember. Lol!
I was a big Osmonds fan when I was young... I Love harmony. Merrill led this song and had one of the most underrated voices In pop/rock music.
My first concert was The Osmonds.❤
Grew up listening to the Osmonds. My first concert was to see them. Still love listening to them.
The Sylvers is another family group from the 70's. "Boogie Fever" was their big hit. Their performance of it on the Midnight Special is incredible.
Another family group to check out is the Cowsils singing The Rain The the Park and Everything
Lolol...original boy band? Uhhhh...no that title belongs to Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers give them a hear😁
Love it!
Oh lord kids my childhood again ! I must of been 5 or 6 yrs old dancing in front of my TV lol ! 😍 thank you kids
Hayall yeah! Crazy wicked moves. Dude is killin the drums!
You two definitely need to listen to Donny singing Puppy Love. 🐶 ❤
and lollipops lace and lipstick another good song by donny.
Yes. Yes listen to Jussina. You must listen to Puppy Love. Hey J forgive me if I butchered your name. Maybe you go by Jussina. Either way it's a unique name.
@@Susie-j5i no problem just remember the J is silent 🤫
Puppy Love...Donny Osmond. What a voice.
Marie is the country girl of the group. Her biggest song was she did was called paper roses so if you ever get a chance to hear her songs you can’t you have to hear her. Her voice is so country that you can’t believe that she came from a Rock family
I'm a little bit county, I'm a little bit rock--roll" remember that song?
Not only are they very good looking and sing great but they dance tough!! Love the Osmonds since 1970s!!
The Osmonds, "Hold Her Tight", excellent band!
Love that one!!!
Can't help but smile at this song. Donny is already a grandfather.
Holy Mackerel that’s A LOT of energy in that performance! 😆 Those guys were getting a full workout with that number!
Great fans 👍 you won 🎁🎁 a GIft hit me up on telegram to claim your price 👍
Love that someone is giving The Osmonds their dues. I've been a fan for 52 yrs and always will be. Hold Her Tight and Crazy Horses are a couple of rockers. Life Is Hard Enough Without Goodbyes is an awesome song. Slower tempo but cool vibe, guitar is great...I could see Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd doing it. For real live Osmonds, look for Ohio State Fair videos around 1972. Keep On Jammin'
Since you love this so much, check out their sister Marie, maybe for female Friday. You will love Paper Roses! Love you guys
It’s really fun to see a new generation enjoy the boys. Love your reactions!
Loved hearing this again. Marie Osmond didn't sing in her brothers band, but in 1973 at the age of 14 she reached #1 on the Billboard charts with her debute song "Paper Roses". She later had a
TV variety show with her brother Donnie.
the ORIGINAL boy band!!! As you dive down this rabbit hole, pay attention to their harmonies. The familial blend is unreal. Pretty much some of the best five part harmony I’ve ever heard! He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother is a good one.
They were known as the "one take Osmonds"...they always got it right the first time.
You totally made my day!
There's some good rock 🎸 on Phase III & The Plan as well!
Yeah, they've been in the business since 1962, so they are hardly just a "pop" group. In fact, they've probably done almost every genre out there.
Listen to "hold her tight" for more rocking osmonds 🎉
I remember the Osmonds on the Andy Williams show... Donny first performed on that show at age 5... and all the brothers were great
The Osmonds collectively play 28 instruments and have impeccable harmonies. So underrated.
Marie is very talented. She and Donny had a hit TV show in the 70's. Obviously, it was called the Donny and Marie Show. You should check out some episodes.
I was a teen during the Osmond brothers peak. I had Donny Osmond posters hanging on my wall. They had a lot of hits. Thanks for sharing.
Great fans 👍 you won 🎁🎁 a GIft hit me up on telegram to claim your price 👍
One of their absolute best songs is "Love me for a reason"!
"The Partridge Family" Television Series Was Inspired By This Real Life Family Group,,
The Cowsills "The Rain,, The Park And Other Things"..A MUST HEAR Classic!!
Love their version of "Hair".
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!Next one HAS TO BE YO-YO!! ❤❤❤ Can’t Wait!!
The video from the flip Wilson show yo-yo
Crazy Horses by them is a banger
I fell in love with Donny Osmond when I was 12 years. I live in Norway. Now I am 61. Had big poster of the handsome Donny on the wall in my room for many years. "Puppy love"❤ his voice back then😊 true first love
1970s what a time ☺️
Y'all be sure to check out their cartoons 😉?
Saturday mornings was wild 😂✌️❤️
I love the Osmond's, this song rocks, plat their song Crazy horses
Crazy Horses was one of the first anti-pollution/emissions song, and a good rocker.
Marie's duet of Meet Me In Montana is one of my favorite songs ever! It's gorgeous, as she is and her voice too!! ❤️
Donny made an appearance on the Brady Bunch. Jan loved Donny! 💜
Get your purple socks!

Donny was my teenage heartthrob. The wall over my bed was covered with pictures of him from the teen magazines of the day. Thanks for taking me down memory lane!
From the same time, try Tony Defranco and Defranco Family " heartbeat it's a lovebeat".The early 70s really was the boy band era
Just recently found that song on UA-cam and it took me back. They had some crazy dance moves as well.
THAT is a party record! I Love when Amber gets blissed like this! ....Jay, you are truly blessed!
