Thank you so much. I am a dad with no tennis experience and I have a six years old son who lives for tennis. All the coaches see big potential in him and want to give him private lessons, but we just can't afford it here in Switzerland... You have no idea how much your videos help us! Wish you all the best and continue the great work, sir!
Thank you so much for this video.... the tip that helped me most was holding the racquet with both hands and make the rotation of my body from back to front and up .. the C curve.. I love it.. Truly appreciate the video..
Hi... Ryan. Thank for your tips and advices. I’m 54 years old and now begging in tennis. I’m working against a wall and get better performance with your advices. Regards from Spain.... Go ahead with your videos
Love all 5 tips. Number 2 in particular, keeping head still through contact, that's the best for me. Ensures the racket doesn't veer off the perfectly pre-calculated swing path.
1 is great. 2, 3 & 5 I think will help a lot. When I took lessons decades ago, the key topspin cue I recall was 'windshieldwiper' to get the racket brushing as well as up and over the opposite shoulder but I think that undersold all the other elements, contributing to my inconsistency.
I really need to work on keeping my head down and level through the swing. I have a bad habit of looking up to see where the ball is going. Same thing with volleys.
Excellent lesson thank you very much I show my students and the one more time big big thanks for you nice job nice job keep going you are very understandable and honest honest thank you
Good tips. Ive been a tennis nut for many years. The best quality of coaching has come from the States for generations. I used to have a huge collection of World Tennis mags going back to the 50s. The early mags had loads of technique tips that were brilliant. Today's mags aren't a patch under WT when it was edited by Gladys Heldman
All the 5 tips are extremely important. All the 5 are to observed religiously, if you want to control and accurately direct your forehand shot. Thank you for great video.
i learned tennis by myself just looking at pros and most of the things here they do it. the whole catching the racquet up at the top may be something that pros dont do now because they have created that muscle memory to understand how they need to finish their stroke in order to have more control, but i bet that they did all of these drills as they grew up in their tennis careers. By the way i discovered this channel a few days ago and is amazing, all of the things ive put to use thanks to you guys! amazing job
I bought a Top Spin Pro for my wife who recently decided to take up tennis. She has zero athletic experience and this teaching aid and your videos, like this one, have made it much easier to learn the basics of the correct swing path. Keep up the good work.
first tip and watching the ball with still head works for me, when i mess my forehand generally those are the ones i am doing wrong. the last one though , I usually end up on side with windshield wiper without second hand. But when i start warm up hits I prefer ending with both hands.
thank U Much - Used the 'serve/volley and top spin as well as 2 1 2 methods today & won my tournament game! (club tennis) so grateful to you for sharing & Helping!!
You should emphasize the importance of the non-dominant hand for the shoulder turn and then reaching/tracking the ball. Really helps with control/timing
The way I understand and experienced it myself is that when you hold the racket over the shoulder with your non dominant hand helps with the balance after you strike the ball. You basically stop the momentum of the movement of the racket going back.
Great tips. Thanks. Just one thing: there is a very important tip just before contact. The buttcap must face the ball: it is the secret for massive consistancy.
Many thanks for the helpful tips - particularly liked rocking the baby. I think the catching with the non-dominant hand is also helpful for encouraging a good finish and consistency :-)
Contact zone! That concept alone can be a game changer. I can destroy balls with my forehand... Sometimes even playing with my coach, he just can't keep up with my combos of forehands, when they're struck exactly as I intend them... But my consistency is lacking. After 3 or 4 well-hit power forehands, I lose control. I believe THAT concept is what is missing! I'm going to practice it full blast!
Hi Haley! I can coach you... I give zoom private lessons. Just has one last evening with a guy in California. If you liked to book a zoom lesson simply go to www.2MinuteTennis.net. Or email me ryan@2minutetennis.net with questions. Thanks!!!
This is another great video like the backhand control video. Essentially, Coach is teaching 90's style groundstrokes which are much more consistent , powerful and easier. Most coaches are too into the whippy modern stuff.
Great video mate, thanks for putting in so much effort in this video. I just realised the importance of top spin and i have been playing for a while 🙏🏻😊
I clearly understand you explain and speak, despite of I'm not native English speaker, your voice is cute also. Tips are excelent and easy to learn. Greetings from Ecuador.
Probably keeping my head still with the shoulder to shoulder contact tip. However, a major tip for forehand (and backhand) consistency is one I heard on My Tennis HQ and is golden: It is to always start the racquet in exactly the same position during a rally when you go into your split step. Many club players, including me, have the habit of dangling the racquet in different positions during the rally just prior to beginning the next stroke. This lack of consistency means that our swings are never standardized. When I remember to get the racquet back to my neutral position before beginning the next stroke my consistency definitely goes up.
I was wondering why I had so much control on my 2 handed backhand. So yesterday I tried to keep my left arm on as long as possible and it work like a charm. No I need yo stop lifting and hold my head stiller.
Roger!! I’m so excited to hear this. Just try to live your chin from front shoulder to back shoulder. I have a Sharapova video I made a few days ago showing this exact technique. Helps keep the head still. ua-cam.com/video/3LkZ6fCdAfQ/v-deo.html here it is
Chin on front shoulder to chin on back shoulder - you look, you won't like what you see. Keeping the head still for as long as possible is something very few beginners are able to do but that is what they should aspire to
I understand your point of course and it is somewhat valid, however it is overweighed by the benefit of looking where you want the ball to go/at your target. This is the biggest game changing thing I learned in being a pro drifter (completely staring at the car in front of you and literally never look anywhere else, not even the track, just completely zone out on the car). And it is the same thing for just short of all sports, basketball, soccer etc etc, you need to look where you want the ball to go and it will completely transform your abilities in any sport.
Hello Ryan, as always thanks so much for this video. Can you please do the same tips for backhands also? Btw, I always click the like button, even before I watch your videos, and I will know for definite that I will not be disappointed
Excellent video. I can relate to all five elements of improvement. Especially liked the first exercise: moving the racquet with both hands. Thank you, coach! I hope to see a video on tips for improving the footwork
Very good video, lots of tips I’ve not seen on other topspin videos. I have been a squash player for many years and, in the confined space of a squash court, the compactness of a follow through is vital so as not to endanger your opponent who may be standing right next to you. I have just started playing tennis and I can appreciate that a full swing, like in golf, is essential (and safe) in order to make the swing smooth and not ‘ chopped’. It seems to me that for some small period of time before, during and after hitting the ball, the angle of the racket strings in relation to the ball is obviously important. However, before this period and after this period of time has elapsed what the racket is doing (or whether it is held in one hand or two) cannot affect the trajectory or pace of the ball.
I've been using the 2-1-2 since before your original IG account got shut down =D It helped me a lot to settle into moving correctly during my unit turn and preparation. Especially after I got a heavier racquet and realized how much energy it saves.
The best tip for me was keeping my head facing towards my opponent all the time. Like never watch something else! I realised this is one of the most important things in your strokes, isn´t it?
5 Tips For MASSIVE Forehand Control
@Hugo Zachary it’s a scam

I will try your hints and let you know. For now, you have some of the best videos on tennis lessons I have ever seen.

Holy cow!! What an amazing comment!!

Thanks a lot. All 5 tips resonate to me!
Love all 5 tips. Number 2 in particular, keeping head still through contact, that's the best for me. Ensures the racket doesn't veer off the perfectly pre-calculated swing path.
Superb short video. I loved 1) holding the racket with both hands so you get the swing right. and 2) catching the racket over your shoulder
Catching the racquet with the left hand fells likes you are doing the right swing, thank you Ryan!
Ryan - You make a difficult game so much easier. Thanks for all of your videos, They are so helpful.
Excellent tips with logic, no court needed!
Thank you so much! Priceless tips👍🏆😎
Really appreciate the kind words of support!!!
You are a phenomenal instructor!
Wow thank you very much! What a nice compliment Joann!!!

Not a fan of windshield wiper for players who are looking for more control. Tends to hurt consistency for the average tennis player. Thanks!!!
I like all 5 tips and first and second one seems most important to me. I want smooth swing and consistent shot.
Loved all the tips, especially the 2-1-2.
So glad you liked them Vinny! And the 2-1-2 is a game changer for players.
love the simple instruction, can't wait to practice. 2-1-2, c - control two hands on the racket to get the body to move as one unit.
ATA! Air The Armpits!! Can’t wait to try all of these great tips!!
Yes!! Thanks and keep me posted.
Thank you for this. One of the best instructional videos I have seen.
why you don't have more subscribers is beyond me! you explain so clearly; I couldn't understand how to get topspin before this video
I’m so glad the video helped you. I’ve gone from 1K to 40K subs in 6 months so happy to keep growing quickly. Thanks for the support!!!!!!!
I have one of the topspin machines and watching you hit from high to low is going to help out great video thank you
I can’t pick which one is the best tip, tbh all of these are massive tips ! U r very good and explain things properly

Yes. It really makes a difference! Thanks so much!!!
The first tip is a new concept that I will practice in my shadow sessions. Thks.
That's like me, playing and spectator at same time😂😂
Nice! I like the "holding the racquet at the ends" tip. Never used that one and will try it with students who don't fully rotate 👍
Thank you so much Coach!!!!

Excellent lesson thank you very much I show my students and the one more time big big thanks for you nice job nice job keep going you are very understandable and honest honest thank you
All the 5 tips were great.
I'm so happy you like all of them! Have a great weekend!
live long and serve the players more.. coach Ryan.
Best tip for me finishing swing holding the racquet with two hands. I tend to not follow thru. I love your videos they are very well done, thank you!
You explain it very clearly
Thanks alex!! Appreciate it!

I like your teaching style. The head stabilization tip is the one I’ll be working on. I often look up - especially on approach shots.
Yes! So important. Let me know how it works for you!!

Thank you for the support Pramod!!
Top spin technique well explained.. low to high.. thank you Coach !
The hitting zone tip is something I need to work on , I keep pulling out with my wrist every third or fourth shot in a rally. Thanks
Great tips! a couple of your techniques that I can really apply to my forehand. thanks a lot!

Great video, I found myself nodding my head up and down.
Haha thanks. Glad you liked it so much!!
I’m going to use these tips in my lessons, a lot of my players have trouble with the contact zone. Thanks!!
Best tip for me: Keeping your chin on your front shoulder then keeping your chin on your back shoulder.
So glad to hear! Yes it works like magic. Thanks!!
Such a great explanation, Ryan. Love all the tips! Very helpful. Thank you
So glad you liked the video. Thanks Evgeny. 😊🎾👍
To me, the two balls on the ground drill is a game changer.
I love the way of your speaking. Thank you very much sir^^~
I really appreciate your support!!!
You should emphasize the importance of the non-dominant hand for the shoulder turn and then reaching/tracking the ball. Really helps with control/timing
You’re absolutely correct!!

Thanks Alex. Again, appreciate the support.
The golf example was the best . Eye on the ball. More eye less shank!!
Thanks Karthick!! Appreciate the support!!
Working on that. Is not so Easy remove bad attitude.
Great video. Thank you
Wow thank you Michael!! Appreciate the kind words. Have a great day.
This is another great video like the backhand control video. Essentially, Coach is teaching 90's style groundstrokes which are much more consistent , powerful and easier. Most coaches are too into the whippy modern stuff.
The shoulder turn holding the racquet between two hands was most helpful to me. I have trouble getting the body feel for the unit turn. Good tips!
I’m so glad that tip helped you. Let me know how it works!!
I’d like to see the golf one on court and discussion of whether you should be looking in strokes .
Great video mate, thanks for putting in so much effort in this video. I just realised the importance of top spin and i have been playing for a while 🙏🏻😊
Mann ur very underrated! I love you techniques 🔥 keep up the great work
Wow thank so much! So glad you like my content so much. Appreciate the kind words. Thanks Archi!!!
@@2MinuteTennis Dude ur an amazing coach my forehand is now going inside :) Thx so much
Excellent video
I clearly understand you explain and speak, despite of I'm not native English speaker, your voice is cute also. Tips are excelent and easy to learn. Greetings from Ecuador.
Chin on shoulders is most useful to me. Federer always has chin on right shoulder at/after contact. Most impactful way to keep control for me.
Ryan YOU ROCK !!! Man
Haha thanks so much!! Appreciate you!
Hi , thank for the video, is great. Witch tip do you recommend to see the ball at the impact moment, I can’t do it.
Keep your head super still. Works extremely well

I like comment number 5. It forces you to turn and follow through. All the tips are great. I will remember armpits.
My old coach's adage was 'watch the ball into your racket'. keeps the head down & still with eyes on ball - kills 3 birds one stone.
thanks so much MB!!!!!
Excellent video. I can relate to all five elements of improvement. Especially liked the first exercise: moving the racquet with both hands. Thank you, coach! I hope to see a video on tips for improving the footwork
Amazing tips!!! Thanks I've got this hahahaha

Hey thanks so much Lauti
definetly 2-1-2 at least for me is the basic, but we have to practice, it´s simple but not easy to remember -
Thanks Arnaldo! Try shadow swinging a lot at home. Over and over again to ingrain it!!

Great job my friend
Thanks so much Davor!!
For me, the 2-1-2 enforces FULL SHOULDER ROTATION that promotes high spin rates and stroke power.
Thanks, actually very usefull
