Big fan of Toro mowers and snow blowers. I do all my own maintenance and won’t buy anything but Toro. Great quality and easy to get parts for, even years later. Best brand I’ve worked with.
Bought one at the end of last season. So far, so good. Agree about the oil changes-easy enough to do by tipping it on its side. The self-stow feature is great for cleaning underneath.
Just got a GM1000, and it’s amazing! At my age, mowing was getting tough, but this makes it easy, even in the Florida heat. Didn’t go for a riding mower because of all my fruit trees.
My 15-year-old Toro mower is still working great. It starts on the first pull every time. I make sure to change the oil, filter, and spark plug at the start of each season and use ethanol-free gas. I’ve only had to replace the blade every few years and the drive belt once. Keeping it clean and dry has prevented rust.
Had my Toro for 8 years now. Hoping to get another 10 years out of it. My friend bought a new model last year, and it works well with my older one’s parts. Added an hour meter after watching your previous videos-40 hours since July.
I’ve used the same mower for a season, and it’s been great. Quiet engine, lightweight, and easy to lift without a trailer. It does struggle a bit on inclines, but that’s typical for front-drive mowers. Had a wheel fall off but fixed it with Teflon tape. The paint is almost gone but no rust. So far, no issues with the transmission, though the drive cable is showing signs of wear.
Great review. Thinking of using this as a starter for a budget lawn care business. Do you think it can handle it? Is there a more powerful Toro model with front-wheel drive?
The paint started peeling off the deck partway through the first season. The engine bogs down and stalls, even with dry grass. Really regret buying it.
These old Toro mowers like the GM1000 are solid, but the new ones? Not so much. Engines locking up, plastic parts breaking. Maintenance is key-oil changes are essential. Any other GM1000 owners experiencing this?
Just ordered this model. My old mower broke, and the manufacturer stopped making the parts I needed. Thanks for reviewing this unit. Great video.

Thinking about getting a Toro GM1000 after watching this. I'm still undecided. Thanks for the helpful review.

I have a 1999 Toro mower that my uncle passed down to me. It still runs and cuts like a dream. Made in the USA, too.

Cant wait to see what other mowers you try this year. Toro is Toro.
Great review on this mower. For the price, it’s a solid machine. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Just bought a Toro mower! Got the side discharge attachment in about a week, and I’m very happy with it so far.
nice! toro is great
Nice review. The “no oil changes” idea is nonsense. Any good mechanic would advise against it. Appreciate you bringing that up.

Bought this to replace my electric mower. After a year, I definitely prefer gas-no need to charge batteries after every mow.

I'm looking at a GM1000, Mclane and California Trimmer. Ruled out Rolux because of your other video. What should I buy?
The Toro team must be conflicted with this review: positive at first but critical by the end.
