You can add an hour meter with this Cub Cadet kit. Part # 490-900-C075. It’s about a 10 min install. Kohler recommends the oil to br change every 100 hours and the filter every 200 hours. I personally change both at 100 hours. This is on the Kohler 7000 series engine.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  26 днів тому

Hi Adam! The seat isn't adjustable, but the paddles are. You can move them closer or further if needed. As far as the oil I had to look at Cub Cadet's website. They recommend changing the oil after the first 5 hours on a new mower, then 50 hours or once a year thereafter. Hope that helps!

THANKS so i just purchased a used cub cadet XT1 LT42 in great shape. So my question is whe nI cut the seat has no forgivness, hurts back and private parts LOL when I cut my 1 acre. How is the Automotive-inspired, ergonomic, fully adjustable premium 18'' high-back seat and a durable, advanced polymer seat suspension system optimizes comfort while reducing operators fatigue, how is the suspension on this ride in your opinion. ,

Polymer bumpers are junk, replace with 3 inch motorcycle seat springs barrel type. Easy..
All the plastic bumpers travel is taken up when you sit on the seat, they are useless.

They were “looking for professional landscapers,” so I wasn’t “right for their campaign.” My followers have continued to ask me about the DeWalt mowers, ironically, even though I’m not a pro. 😂

Hi there. New subscriber here. Glad to find your video. I just purchased a 42 inch version. Glad to learn about the removeable deck plate. I was wondering what that tool was for. LOL I'm sure I could have learned from the instruction manual but those are only to be used in emergency, Right? LOL
My reason for viewing is two fold. First, I was trying to figure out where the grease fittings are on this mower and that removeable plate should be a big help. Second, I wanted to look at your pretty smile a little longer.:)
(DISCLAIMER) Only read below this if you want to read a short version of my last 5 days.
I have a kinda funny story. It's a little long but I will keep it as short as I can. Keep in mind I will be 74 next month.
in 2017, I bought my first zero turn. It was a Toro Timecutter 42'. I loved it. Used it for 5 years and only had to sharpen blades regularly and I had to buy batteries the first 2 years. the remaining 3 on one battery. I decided I needed more exercise and I sold it and bought a Ryobi 40 volt push mower. Seriously though, even with that, I could mow my front yard in 15 minutes. It's very small. The Toro would do front and back in 20 minutes tops.
After all that I had a fall at work and tore the meniscus in my knee. well surgery and arthritis has me out of walking my yard for even short periods of time. So. It was time to break down and buy a new toy.:)
I decided to go with electric since I 'd had good luck with the Ryobi push mower. Last week I bought a Ryobi 30" Zero turn since my yard was so small. It's the one with a joystick.(I figured that would give me a hand free for my beer. WRONG. My Code Red Mountain Dew addiction :)
Now, I could go into detail about the delivery from the big box store with the orange sign But the list of problems with that and the mower would be too long and I said I would keep it short. I will only say this. Who delivers an electric riding mower to a customer with batteries less than 10 percent. It would not move. After 2 hours I decided to return the Ryobi because the stiff i-drive(the I in I-Drive does not stand for intelligent) joystick had my arm feeling like I had been doing arm curls for 30 minutes, and if you let go of the stick, it does not return to zero. the mower keeps going at speed until you fall out of the seat(deal-breaker). THEN it will stop.
Enough on the Ryobi. Monday they (yeah same store, I didn't learn.) delivered my new Cub Cadet 42". The driver dropped it off and left. 1. It was hard to start the first time. It ran about 30 seconds and ran out of gas. I went and bought gas, poured some in, it started, but it wouldn't move. I tried several times to get it to move and it would not. So, back to the store, only to learn that no one had told me about those transaxle lock pins. Luckily this store is only 2 miles away.
Back home. Moved the pins. drove it around for about 20 mins. Stopped to talk to a neighbor, she left and I turned the key, nothing. Got my boost box, started right up. Back to the store, They said bring the battery in they would charge it since I didn't have a AGM battery charger and the manual said do not use lead acid battery charger on it. Took battery in and left it overnight. Next day I checked and the battery was dead, so they gave me one out of the floor model. I shouldn't have any battery issues as I learned from my Toro that a $20 item called a battery tender(brand name) kept my battery working for 3 years. So, I put one on the Cub Cadet.
After all of this, it runs and cuts great and I am very pleased with the mower.
BTW This is the short version of my last 5 days There are so many things I left out. Hope those of you that read it, enjoyed the story.

@@Jennyfromtheshop Oh, I wanted to say something about the warnings. Not just on the mower but on anything you buy. (Owners manuals would all be one page per language if they left all the warnings out. LOL) Anyway, about them. The reason they are there is because of lawsuits that occurred before they were added. In other words, SOME FOOL has tried every one of those. Not just lawn mower warnings but 2 of my all time favorites are "Don't iron clothes while wearing." and "Don't use hair dryer while in shower or tub."
