Clearly, you don't understand Cat. He says; tin of sardines, because he knows you can't afford beluga caviar. Maybe you could if you get your T-shirt suppliers to restock the dark blue cat T-shirts.
Comment for the algorithm: yeah, I'm gonna keep watching no matter what too. I just like the combination of creativity and dry humour. Please don't change.
I most enjoy this channel for its overall unique and fun personality, Bill. The builds, the lore, the new games, your ongoing struggles with Cat; all of these elements keep me watching every episode. I wouldn’t change anything, I just hope you keep doing what you enjoy doing.
Its because of your 'weird videos' I've made my first models, and some terrain that I'm actually proud of. I'm makeing a large quadrapedal tuna can based robot with a turning head and all. Your 'weird' is wonderful Bill. And I look forward to it every time you post, whatever it ends up being.
You could always make stuff that RIFFS ON the trends - and if it helps expands the lore of the characters and worlds you're creating, you're still being consistent
I’m torn. One of my favorite things about this channel is that everything you make, no matter if it’s a podracer, a tonk, or a scab, all tie back to the Gutterlands, BUT I’d love to see your channel stick around and grow into whatever it is you want it to be. You’re easily in my top 2-3 craft channels, and I’d hate to see you lose subscribers trying to court a bigger audience. You got to do what you need to do.
The non-apeal to the masses is why this appeals to me. There are such few creators that dive into what the creators mey mind really looks like and I feel as though you do quite a bit to make pretty fun content. My vote is keep on keeping on with your current formula and maybe make some stuff like this but that is in a subject that appeals to a wider audience. AKA the look and feel of the channel is great and I love it even though I don't play many of the games you make stuff for.
BIll dont get discouraged! Your video was at the top of my feed and i will just watch whatever you post since i honestly just love your whole attitude and you always inspire me to create something myself. (I also love your editing style)
If it’s any consolation, you popped up in my algorithm just in the last few weeks. Not sure how I’ve missed out for so long, but your delivery/style/subject matter check all the boxes of the UA-cam channel I knew I was looking for but couldn’t describe. I’ve since worked through all your playlists and joined the Patreon. Keep doing what you’re doing, and if your gut tells you to chase a new direction, I’m sure we’ll all be here cheering on the adventure.
I don't know if you've ever had this idea or if anyone has ever suggested it, but I would absolutely pay money for a physical published copy of an artbook of all the drawings and paintings from your sketchbook. A nice little coffee table type book with pages big enough that you could have a full page of sketches at the original size inset onto a page, with the backstory/explanation for that page with it
8:32 For real. If y'all can avoid cutting a can, do it. I was aware of how sharp they are (like a razor blade), yet stuck my finger inside the sip hole of a soda can that i had cut around, to lift the top off.. well, SLICE! Straight through muscle, vein, tendon, nerve, right to the bone all in a split second. I had to have it stitched up and couldn't feel anything for 4 months (thought feeling was gone forever, but thankfully the nerves eventually re-grew.) I don't mess with cans any more for any reason.
Given how much my kids love sardines, I have enough material to have an armada ... Keep the lights on, as long as you use EVA foam and rivets I'll be watching!
Fun fact: the plastic bit you used for the bottom of the anchor is a stitch marker for crochet & knitting! Brought to you by my having far too many of them.
I really enjoy your idiosyncratic style. When you ask should you branch out and try something you think might be more popular: what are you thinking of changing exactly? If it’s popular but still fun and unique in the way your videos have always been, then yes. If it becomes lame, then no.
The Scab night light will make a fine addition to your son's bedside table. The fact that it will atmospherically light up the biomechanical monstrosities placed there previously should certainly help soothe him to sleep.
Bill, the most enjoyable part of your videos is watching you have fun with what you're doing. If you don't enjoy making "mainstream" stuff, then don't make it! Stick to what you enjoy. I know the act of doing something for content sucks some of the joy out of it, but if you start doing something you don't even enjoy, and then all the minimal joy gets sucked out of that, you'll just hate what you're doing. Don't do that to yourself. We're here for YOU. We want to spend time crafting with you and learning from you. It's our Hanging Out With Bill Time.
Peronally i love all of the “wierd stuff”. Love the asthetic, love the vibes. If you want to go for broader appeal, thats cool, but you are currently my favorite crafter youtuber because of the distinct vibe of your “wierd stuff”. That said, whichever way you decide to go, im sure I’ll keep watching reguardless.
Every ship, also modern ones, have a lot of rope... I worked some years on an inland tanker as a deckhand and sailor later on. It's all plastic and steel rope, nothing natural...😊
I love that you channel is unique and everything has your own style in the builds. A lot of what you build can be tweaked for other games and worlds, so just mention Warhammer in your tags and thumbnail, that should do the trick 😂.
I watch your channel because I love your personality, humor, and creative style. I don't actually make things myself. I just love watching people do things they enjoy. I think if you do a trendy video now and then, so long as you're enjoying it, I and most everyone else will enjoy it too. Good luck, Bill! 🍻
Your style makes me so happy, from the music and stories to the scratch book and cat, just every thing. What I do like is when you try new projects outside your comfort zone, like the boat, but still being Bill. To watch someone grow as an artist is very fun. I have a little model house that started as just free cardboard and coffee stirrers, and I just bought a 3D printer just to make greeblies for it. You inspire me as I don’t have to be perfectly straight or aligned to make something that looks awesome. Keep building new, weird things. Thanks Bill. 😊
I don't know, what do you mean by being more trendy. If by that you mean making stuff like other crafting channels i.e. foam/resin, resin/foam or “I just made it from scratch by using my 3D printer” then no, I don't think that you should. I love your original ideas, and they are easy to reproduce with stuff that I already hoarded. Last time I made those desert rocks from one of your videos. One of the pieces even has an arch connecting two rocks. :D
I just got this video recommended out of nowhere, and immediately got enamored of your style in editing, explaining and crafting! Regarding your question, I don't think my opinions has much weight as I don't really know you yet, but I believe you should do what would make you happy. If crafting is what makes you happy, keep working on that! If you'd rather see your art reach the most people you can, focus on that! Just never lose sight of your priorities, and you'll never feel like you're wasting your time
Love how the process is so "chaotic" and "not so serious" and the result is such a beautiful thing! Happy I found your channel, I'm ready to binge watch 😁 Keep doing your stuff!
Good to see your sketch book has got its hang time back. About trends: I am not trendy. I can't imagine what you trying to be more trendy would look like. Go ahead, give it a go.
this build is adorable and looks so cozy! like many other commenters here, I love the unique “weirdness” of your videos compared to other crafting youtubers, I think it’s truly something special
The punch you used is a pattern notcher. It's used to mark sewing patterns. Great video as usual. My son and I love watching you build! I think you should build what you love. Otherwise you'll burn out. I love the weird stuff.
I am not normal. I love your stuff. Your vids come up on me everytime they're given. Thank you for your excellent content. I have no money so I'm not your wanted customer base. I have boxes of plastic to one day be a giant phoenix. I really like your content. Never stop!.
Love anything with lighting! Love the weird stuff as you say, but would also enjoy a Ghibli build, or something else from classic Sci-Fi every now and then. I mostly come just to see how you do things! Again we Love Bill being Bill.
Speaking of not seeing your videos on my feed... this is the first video of yours that has shown up in 14 or 15 months. And i've been subscribed the whole time. Great to see a nice little boat build!
The little spikey things on the top of the chimney are part of the spark arrestor setup, it allowed cool air to mix with the exhaust and dampen any sparks so they wouldnt float off and land on flammable things
I'm here for whatever you make! You're never going to go wrong with making stuff that feels authentic to you, ya know? you want to try out some trendy stuff go for it, do what feels right, I'm here for Bill!
I love tinned fish, especially sardines -I eat about three tins a week. If you were wondering, they are cooked - it's part of the canning process, so they are perfectly good to eat straight out of the tin. You could get something in a smaller tin, like anchovies, and use that tin to make something like a fast patrol boat. Just an idea. Pole at the front of a boat? That's the Bowsprit.
I love your weird stuff - I don’t even know what “trendy” stuff is. But you have to make a living … and I’m sure whatever you do, it will have that Bill Making Stuff flavour.
WEIRD STUFF! WEIRD STUFF! but seriously dude keep doing what you're doing! being you is what got me watching and I've been telling folks to check you out!
I say stay true to the weird, Bill. Being authentic is such a rare traits these days, and it shows in your videos. Folks will come, I share your vids with most of my buds and they love ya. You'll keep growing
You know, every time you start telling a story, I think you are just rambling and shot slinging and goofing off and silli billying... But it always ends up being endearing and well put together. Same with your builds. Awesome as usual, Bill.
Bill, Keep making stuff you enjoy making. Don't push yourself into making something you're not happy with, just to satisfy a few more views. In short-term it could be good, but at long-term you would get a burn-out i guess. It's amazing the way you do it already.
Oh wow, I really love this boat build - very you and in keeping with your style and nice to see a different style of Scabz boat to the others I have seen (brilliant though those are). I love the lights on it - inspired how you twisted the lights round the 'holiday' wire and scratched up the gum container to mute the lights. Aside from using the boat for playing Scabz, it would make a cute little light feature for a desk/beside table or on the gaming table and I could see it (or another one) being part of a diorama. I've got a small parcel of bits to send you in the coming week or so, which will hopefully have some useful plastic items for you to use. In regards to your idea for discussion: I get there's the need to jump on the trending wagon - I guess for the purpose of supporting the channel and helping it grow, then that is needed, but please just don't lose your own style and quirkiness, which is one of the things I like about it and your work. Perhaps you could come up with similar builds than can be quirky household decorations, such as wall lighting, a Gutterlands dock/harbour for your Scabz boat, dice tower, game component storage, GM game shield (for D&D), desk phone holder, mug coasters; I would also like if you could do a drawing tutorial on drawing a map (just some random ideas). Also, just have to say, after watching you make this boat, it struck me that it really does look to me like your workshop is in an UPTURNED BOAT, rather than a loft ... where exactly ARE you Bill????!!!
Be you and do what you do. I can totally understand the want, or sometimes need, to chase the algorithm to keep the lights on but watching what you come up with is what keeps bringing me back. I like different, I’m sick of the same ol crap being spewed out on the internet. Stay weird.
I say do whatever you feel is best for the channel, this is your livelihood and I’m sure you will add your own flavor to whatever you choose to make. I would watch you make a turkey sandwich and be happy about it and I’m sure I’m not alone! Keep up the good work!
17:09 People who don't see videos in their feed just never check the subscriptions tab and stay on the front page. If we clicked the bell for every youtube channel that asked for it, it would flood the notifications and we would miss most of it anyway. Just tell people to use the subscriptions page instead of the front page. The frontpage is run by the algorithm and it has its own idea about what people want to watch. It's for channels that upload long videos often and not for the weekly or monthly channels.
You video was at the top of my feed as well. You are one of my favorite. I am in the states and you help me keep calm in this now crazy new era. Thank you.
I, personally, love the weird stuff and just the whole vibe of your videos, so I'd say don't change a thing but if you feel it's necessary for your channel to grow and that's the goal you're working towards, I wouldn't stop watching your videos.
Very much trust you to keep your integrity Bill. You often comment on this. To me that means that you can definitely do more 'trendy' stuff to bring more people into the fantastic stuff you do. Trust what you feel comfortable with and what you think is right to grow the channel. I for one would enjoy your quirky take on more mainstream hobby stuff. Love all the content.
It’s true I am subscribed and my husband is subscribed and we have had no notifications and this is the first time I have seen anything in my feed about your videos We love you. Just be yourself and please don’t cave to algorithms
It's all about world building Bill. Love your stuff! And just keep expanding your lore. Explore different parts of the gutterlands. Keep up the good work!
Do what you have to do to pay the bills, Bill. I'll always stay subbed to the patreon, binging your content kept me sane when my second kid was born and it was endless hours of night feeds so feel like I'll always owe you for that.
Normally I wouldn't comment but I want to register my increased engagement for the algorithm gods. I find the size of the cannons funny. I am picturing someone trying to wrestle a 4-foot round steel cannonball into the cannon
Keep making what you like! How do you keep the endless supply of bits and baubles and junk all organized without going crazy? - i had good intentions with my horde of plastic treasure....but now i just have tons of little boxes filled with little bits.
I love your content for how it is currently, youtube does Not seem to like to reward individuality. Your presentation is equally professional as it is cozy 😅
I think making weird stuff that isn't necessarily related to whatever's 'trending' would be cool. Stuff that's 'algorithm friendly' but not trend chasing. So for instance using the techniques you use for bead bots to make a miniature inspired by a Xenomorph and Starship Troopers Bug hybrid, or Junk-Robocop.
i love your content bill, i've been watching for at least a year now. i'd love to see you grow, but not at the cost of your channel's personality-- that's big reason why i watch your videos. please keep doing what you love, whatever that happens to be.
Very cool mini as always! I like that you were able to fit the lore into Gutterlands and Scabz simultaneously. Maybe try click bait thumbnails and titles, but keep doing the builds and videos exactly how you want to do them?

Just keep being Bill. That's what a tune in for 😂 that said do whatever I will still watch it
Comment for the algorithm: yeah, I'm gonna keep watching no matter what too. I just like the combination of creativity and dry humour. Please don't change.
Same same
Amen
I most enjoy this channel for its overall unique and fun personality, Bill. The builds, the lore, the new games, your ongoing struggles with Cat; all of these elements keep me watching every episode. I wouldn’t change anything, I just hope you keep doing what you enjoy doing.
Man, I love your storytelling. Boring time with Bill is the best.
Boring time with Bill isn't actually boring at all :-)
@@guleri why not both!
gotta find that balance between appeasing the algorithm and doing what you want and having fun.
Forget the algorithm. If things get tuff you can stand out side Hobby World with a sign - "Will craft for beads"
Well said
Don't jump on trends. I watch you because of the niche stuff that you produce. Just keep making the wonderful videos you already make ❤
Shocked cat face thumbnails for the algorithm!!
That's about as much as my sleep-deprived brain can muster.
I will watch literally no matter what you're making. Its the love for the game and creativity that keep me coming back
Its because of your 'weird videos' I've made my first models, and some terrain that I'm actually proud of.

I don't know if you've ever had this idea or if anyone has ever suggested it, but I would absolutely pay money for a physical published copy of an artbook of all the drawings and paintings from your sketchbook. cat needs a santa hat. (Shh dont tell Bill cat ill get you sardines)
Santa or Satan hat? I prefer the latter.

Seeing the pearls being added made me genuinely smile
Whats the name of the boat, Bill? Its bad luck to take a voyage in an unamed vessel. Nevermind.
Awesome job!
That's so cute
I really like your channel on first impression. You make me laugh
I watch your channel because I love your personality, humor, and creative style. I don't actually make things myself. I just love watching people do things they enjoy.

To hell with trends. Be Bill. Bill making stuff.
Both, Bill. Build both, Bill.
Keep making the things you want to make Bill, that's what makes your channel so great! There's no joy to be found in chasing trends.

On making yourself more appealing to the masses…. If you don’t love doing it, I doubt it will be made as well. I personally love your stuff as is.
Keep being Bill - ditto what most people are saying - I watch your vids because they're unique

Love anything with lighting! Love the weird stuff as you say, but would also enjoy a Ghibli build, or something else from classic Sci-Fi every now and then. I mostly come just to see how you do things! Again we Love Bill being Bill.

As long that your videos have a Bill twist, I’m all for it ! I would watch you drench a GW model in crustard and read the horrified comments.
You video was at the top of my feed as well. You are one of my favorite. I am in the states and you help me keep calm in this now crazy new era. Thank you.
Your thumbnails are some of the only good ones left on youtube
I, personally, love the weird stuff and just the whole vibe of your videos, so I'd say don't change a thing but if you feel it's necessary for your channel to grow and that's the goal you're working towards, I wouldn't stop watching your videos.
Very much trust you to keep your integrity Bill. You often comment on this. To me that means that you can definitely do more 'trendy' stuff to bring more people into the fantastic stuff you do. Trust what you feel comfortable with and what you think is right to grow the channel. I for one would enjoy your quirky take on more mainstream hobby stuff. Love all the content.
I love warmed Sardines on brown toast 😋, I also love Bill's Junk 😉
Love the beginning bit! Lovely teaser!!
It’s true
I am subscribed and my husband is subscribed and we have had no notifications and this is the first time I have seen anything in my feed about your videos
We love you.
Solution for not popping up on feed, just go into subs tab. Also we like your content bill don't change it.
Normally I wouldn't comment but I want to register my increased engagement for the algorithm gods.
I find the size of the cannons funny. I am picturing someone trying to wrestle a 4-foot round steel cannonball into the cannon
Bill we love you and your stuff. Do whatever you think is right and I believe a lot of us will follow! 🎉
Keep making what you like! How do you keep the endless supply of bits and baubles and junk all organized without going crazy? - i had good intentions with my horde of plastic treasure....but now i just have tons of little boxes filled with little bits.
Use the tin upside down saves having to cut a hole for the batteries. Looks great 👍🏻
This is the first video I have seen pop up from you in a WHILE. 🤔 It's the content I like from you.
I appreciate everything you do.. I watch you for you.. so just keep being you and im here for it.
I love your content for how it is currently, youtube does
Not seem to like to reward individuality. Your presentation is equally professional as it is cozy 😅
This little boat is a delight! Thank you for sharing your creative projects.
So beautiful piece of work. How awesome 😍😍
Beautiful piece of work 👍👍
I think making weird stuff that isn't necessarily related to whatever's 'trending' would be cool.
Stay just the way you are Bill...we love you for it. 🎉🎉🎉
If you quit doing what you love it will cut those who love what you do. As a Patreon I will keep on keeping on with you. Just HOLD FAST!
