@@g3garage Hello sir. I really like you work on interior. I am in Dallas Tx. I’m really like to do business with you. Do you have a phone number that I can give you a call at?
One side I purchased on Ebay and it was a PUI brand. The other side I purchase from OPGI and it was a RestoParts brand. The RestoParts brand is better quality so I'd recommend it over the PUI brand. Hope this helps.
What are the seats actually from? Also does the back adjust for angle as I like to sit really upright. Seems like all the 80's type seats are really reclined.
These seats were removed from a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix. Most all of these G Body bucket seats recline into several positions to accommodate the driver and passenger. The drivers side also has a 6 way power seat base for full adjustability. Thanks for your comment.
@@g3garage Thanks for the reply. I have a power seat track. I am still not sure if the back part of the seat will "Tilt" Forward & Lock independently of the Seat Bottom/Power-Track.
I made them from a combination of the Grand Prix seat tracks and a 95 Camaro seat tracks. I took pictures but forgot to add them to my video. Thanks for your comment.
Yes, they should fit fine for your Regal. The seat pattern is slightly different but the aftermarket foams accommodates for both the Regal and Monte Carlo "pleats". Hope this helps.
@@g3garage you indicated the base are interchangeable between the passenger and driver. Only difference is the nut clip that holds the torx screw. I need a driver side base because mines is broken, I locates one but it's a passenger side one.
@@aldoa4544 Ah yes, the base is interchangeable from side to side. So just pop the clip off as I noted in the video and install it on the opposite side and you should be good to go. The upper frame of these seats are specific to each side and do not interchange. Hope this all makes sense.
The kit I used was ACME brand. Purchased the kit through Rock Auto. Not a big fan of PUI interiors as they don't seem to fit near as good as these ACME pieces. Thanks for your comment.
Ha! I guess I just like doing upholstery work lol. But I think your seats are originally from a 75-77 Grand Prix from what I can tell. And those will work perfectly in my 75 Grand Am if you end up deciding to let them go.
@@g3garage I noticed the same thing after watching your Grand Am video... They're all yours brother, I'll let you know when they're outta the truck. Probably be a few weeks
I made a tool out of sheet metal. It was bent 90 degrees at the top to make a handle to push down on. It was narrow enough to slip down inside the headrest channel that essentially blocked the locking mechanism from engaging the headrest post as I pulled up on it and out of the seat. This will take some time to get it lined up correctly before it works so be patient.
Great job. They look better then new
Great detailed video!
Thanks for the feedback! Just trying to help folks out that want to do this themselves and save some money.

where did you get the foam?

The trim molding that’s attached to the electrical switch where did you get it from or how can I looked it up
Look up 87 Grand National or T-Type and you should find it.
What color are those seat covers? Med. Gray or Charcoal?
I ordered this upholstery kit from Rock Auto and the description said it was Charcoal. Hope this helps.
@@g3garage Thanks!!

What did the power seat tracks come from

Do you know if the 1987 buick regal T type bucket seats have the same foam shape as the Monte Carlo SS/ El camino?
Yes, they should fit fine for your Regal. The seat pattern is slightly different but the aftermarket foams accommodates for both the Regal and Monte Carlo "pleats". Hope this helps.
@@g3garage thanks for the info, one more thing how easy was it switch the clip on the base to switch the passenger to the driver side?
@@aldoa4544 Clip on the base? Not sure what you mean.

Currently converting 86 Elco from bench to bucket, what brand upholstery did you go with PUI or ACME? Where did you order?

How did you get the headrest loose?

You could have just burned the old foam
