    MUST READ
Pain in the butt! I was sceptical when this video didn't show the actual installtion process. The weather head fitting is made of tough metal. I'm making zero progress trying to cut it with a small hacksaw as suggested by this video! This is turning out to be as difficult as trying to take off the original rusted filter bolts! What a headache! Had I known better I would not have cut the original hose so far away from the factory filter. I would've been better off discarding the hoses that came with the kit and just reusing the original hoses. Now, I feel like I have to use a power cutter but this is not advised because sparks + fuel = Hasta la vista baby!
UPDATE - The easiest way to use this kit is to make a nice clean cut of the factory hoses as close as possible to the filter on either side of the filter that's on the vehicle. (Basically you'll be just cutting out the filter but leaving as much factory hose on the vehicle as possible. Do not cut the factory hose too close to the weatherhead fitting on the fuel tank end and engine end.) Depending on how long you cut the factory hoses, the stems/pipes from replacement filter might be able to fit/reach into the 'factory' hoses.
If, however, you cut the hoses a bit short, you can attach the hoses that come with the kit to the filter that comes with the kit and then use metal couplers the join the factory hoses to the hoses from the kit which are on the filter. In other words the path will be: fuel pump TO fuel line TO weather head fitting TO factory hose TO coupler TO hose from kit TO filter from kit (reverse order for the line leading to engine)
My Disco 1 is a 1998 and in this year 2020 the factory hoses are still ok so I really didn't need to peel them off and destroy them like this video advised.
If you have the time, strength or guts to cut off the weather head fittings then power to you. I'll need that power because I only wised-up after I cut the hose on the fuel tank end.

I love all your videos, they have helped me greatly, but is it true that there is no fuel filter in a 2004 Land Rover discovery 2, just the sock attached to the fuel pump?

Does a 06 range rover hse 4.4 jag have a fuel pressure regulator?

      Hi Jarad,
The 4.4 does not have an actual regulator but what are called dampers that are built right into the fuel rails. These act to damp pulses from the pump and ensure that the fuel pressure in the rail and to the injectors is constant.

atlanticbritish I'm running lean do to not enough fuel. under a load my LTFT is 22% both banks. I've replaced the fuel pump. And I still can't figure it out? Any help would be appreciated. I've already checked for vacuum leaks and there are none

      Hi Jarad,
At this point, I would bring your Range Rover into your mechanic to get a more in-depth diagnosis and possible solutions for your fuel system issues.
