Hi, as a native Dane, I'm sure you will have no problem learning our language 😊 you are nailing it this far, I'm very impressed! Keep up the good work 👍
When you’re settled in Denmark try to get a friend or collegue to help you with the language. Dutch and danish isn’t so far distanced as languages so i’m sure that the lingo will get to you real quick. Ohh, and may I add, danish is soooo fucking difficult with impossible rules and so filled with opposites and contradictions which basically makes it to a lot of memorization. But don’t worry - it will come quick if you try and try and aren’t afraid of laughing at yourself.
@@Nienkexplores we have words with different meanings but they are spelled and pronounced same way. one i like to use as example is : Far får får får ? nej får får ikke får. får får lam. dad does sheep have sheep " babys" ? no sheep dont have sheeps. sheeps get lambs :)
I will say in terms of pure grammatical rules, danish is not that much of an offender. But the pronounciation like sometimes I wonder what happened to it and how we got here 😂
I'm happy that I'm starting to learn about denmark 5 months before I finish school. I hope that in these 5 months I can learn a lot more about denmark and learn the language, so when I arrive in denmark I won't have to take a beginner course to danish but start a bit more advanced... well that's the hope
How's your danish going in 4 months? I highly recommend learning Danish together with the other prettiest languages ever Norse / Gothic / Icelandic / Faroese / English / Dutch / Norwegian / Welsh / Breton / Cornish as they are equally gorgeous and are way too pretty not to know - re music in Danish, I would recommend listening to the song Hr Oluf (Lirik Asynje Danish folk song with lyrics) and the Skáld song ElverHøy (it’s more like Danish / Norwegian mix) which are two of the prettiest songs in Danish, and for Norse and Icelandic and Faroese etc I recommend listening to all the other Skáld songs like Óðinn and Grótti and Fluga and Rún and SæKonungar and Níu etc and the folk songs in Faroese and Icelandic which are also real awesome with some of the prettiest melodies and lyrics, and for Gothic I recommend listening to the songs with lyrics in Gothic which can be heard by typing ‘Gothic lyrics Inweita’ and ‘Gothic hun Latin’ etc which are super epic as well! (I am learning all these gorgeous languages and many other target languages, and I am advanced level in Icelandic and Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Norse and upper advanced level in Dutch etc, and I have been trying to learn more Danish and Gothic and Faroese etc lately as I am beginner level in these languages, though I can actually understand most of the new words, so it should be pretty easy!)

My advice to everyone in the world if they come to Denmark, there is only only one phrase you will ever need: "Do you speak English?"
Having your ego up the clouds, believe me, there are MANY, many people that can learn languages like the people from that country, and Danish is not an exception. I actually find Danish, and overall Danish pronouncation VERY easy, lol maybe because there are no letters I wouldn't know the sound of, due to our many letters from my own country (44). æ = é, å = ó/á, ø = ö, simple enough, right? Besides, not everyone is American and knows english that well. If people heard me speaking english, they would rather ask me not to even talk at all, i do horrible in real life with it. Anyway, all i have to say is, that you are not special for talking Danish. It's easy to learn, in every aspect. Especially the pronouncation. 😉

@@Nienkexplores yup everyone says that even the Swedes and Norwegians. we Danes are just plain weird when it comes to speaking with sounds we dont say and spoken words that dont sound anything like the written word :P
My grandmother was half-Danish and I know probably 4-5 words, but really wished I’d payed better attention.
I’m trying to learn Danish too! Anyone have any songs/ Netflix recommendations?
The series "Broen" on Netflix is a Swedish/Danish crime serie where they speak Danish and Swedish, which gives you an idea of the relation between the two languages.
I definietly listened to the wrong songs haha but a new danish movie just won a grammy? or an oscar? I'm not sure but it should be good!
@@Nienkexplores It is and it touch a cultural subject we Danes are know for, Alcohol. A little is fine too much takes you to the edge and beyond.
