  • This will show you our Maroon Bells Travel Tips as part of our Aspen Travel Vlog. The Maroon Bells are two peaks in the Elk Mountain - Maroon peak, and North Maroon peak, located near Aspen Colorado. This will specifically give you travel tips on hiking to Crater Lake, the Maroon Bells shuttle bus, and parking area, and the Maroon Lake scenic trail. The Maroon Bells area has several hiking trails ranging from short hikes near Maroon Lake to longer overnight backpacking trips into the Maroon-Snowmass Wilderness. Most importantly, this will explain some very important tips when planning a visit/hike to the Maroon Bells area.

    About us:
    We travel, we eat, we love, and we pray since we were College Sweethearts, and even now that we are Grandparents. We are husband and wife, and traveling, and eating various cuisine has broaden our perspective, and understanding of the world around us. It gave us a better appreciation respect, and love for nature, and the environment, ourselves, and each other, and for all peoples of various culture, and ethnicity, views, social, economic, and religious background. Traveling is not always smooth sailing, but we learn to embrace inconveniences, and unwanted circumstances, for this we keep in mind wherever we go, “don”t worry about anything, but pray always”(Philippians 4:6). Traveling became our passion next to our respective profession serving, and caring for others, and we would like to share the joys of traveling, eating, loving, and praying, and this is why we create videos that will hopefully inspire you to do the same, and if you have the travel bug already, may we be able to give you new travel ideas that might be helpful for your next travel.

    Wonderful hike. Some years ago we walked this on a frosty October day when the Aspens were all a fabulous golden colour. Very few people about and blue skies made for a perfect day. You looked to have a great time. There is a movie of this earlier on my channel if you are interested. It is important to remember your water!

    Thank you so much for the vid! Very informative. Could you please tell me how much time the shuttle took to reach the Maroon Bells drop off point and for you to then walk upto the spot? (shuttle drive + walk time?)

    • @LinoandLine
      @LinoandLine  Рік тому

      thank you for watching and for your question. The shuttle took about 20 minutes to reach the drop off point. and for me, from Maroon Lake to Crater Lake, it probably took me an hour one way including rest breaks.

    What is the exact location of parking to get the shuttle? And does this parking needs to be booked in advance?

    • @LinoandLine
      @LinoandLine  Рік тому

      hi, the Aspen Highlands Base Village Parking Garage is located at 199 Prospector Road, Aspen CO. It's like a basement garage, and above it is where you wait for the Shuttle to Maroon Bells. There is no reservations for the parking garage. But you reserve online for the shuttle boarding time. Once you book online, there will be instructions where to park, and a map, and directions to the Highlands Center ticket office , and the bus pick up location. Take note that the lot can get full quickly, so book your shuttle boarding for the earliest time and be at Highlands Center an hour before boarding the shuttle. another option is to take the free RFTA shuttle from Ruby Park Transit center in downtown Aspen that will take you to Aspen Highlands Center. If your hotel is not a walking distance to the Ruby Park Transit center, you can park your car at the City of Aspen"s parking garage at 427 Rio Grande Place. it is about a 7 minute walk. check aspenchamber.org for details.

    • @LinoandLine

      There were a few bear sightings if you Hike at the Four Pass loop, but as long as people comply with the bear-canister requirement, bears won’t come close.

      hi, thank you for watching, and for your question. If you're just hiking up to Crater lake, no maps were needed since the hike path is clearly marked, and it's a popular hiking trail, so there are hiker's but not crowded.

    Awesome vlog video! I was looking for a vid showing crater lake with water. We hiked up there last month and it was dry. Still beautiful hike and area. Just posted the fall season at Maroon Bells. You should check it out during the peak fall season. So beautiful too. New friend here! Thanks!

    • @LinoandLine
      @LinoandLine  2 роки тому

      we feel very safe when we were there. bears have become nocturnal in high human use trails, to avoid people. there is an easier hike if you have little kids, it's at the trail head, and this is the Maroon Lake, the hike is around the lake. thank you for watching this video. have a great day!
