The beaver dam you reference at the 3:00 mark is a beaver lodge, not a dam. A beaver lodge is a house/nest/den built by the beaver and accessed from below the water level. A beaver dam, built from the same materials, runs across a stream or creek raising the water level and creating a larger pool of water. 😁
Hey Praveen, we need to get an Igatpuri hiking guide video from you guys one day. I had a great visit before Covid and wish we had more time to get back there!
Hey, I have a question? Which trial you recommend or like your favorite one out of all. I am going with lots of people and kids. So do you know which trail? Thanks for the information!
Hope you have a great trip! With a big group and kids, scenic loop is the easiest and most beautiful since you go along the lake and then follow the creek as far as you want off loop before returning. We saw a large beaver dam with beavers swimming, deer, and other animals along that trail. Crater Lake is also pretty but just a little longer, harder, pretty rocky at times, and takes you further in to the base of the mountain. Get there early to do that one with kids. It’s mostly in a very heavily wooded section of trail so you don’t have the experience of being next to the water until you get to Crater Lake. Both are great in different ways. Plenty of rest areas and both trails are easy enough with children depending on how old they are. Enjoy!
@@ayaanarora4924 if they are older and can handle themselves on a bike, it should be fine. It’s a tough ride without an e-bike, but with one should only take about 40 minutes from highlands. We took the shuttle, and it was super easy! Make sure you get your tickets to visit online in advance as it is super popular in the summer.
The park is open to visitors, but the county may close the road depending on snow conditions. If road isn’t clear, you have to park at the T Lazy 7 ranch and bike, walk, or snowmobile a few miles to Maroon Bells. The shuttle from main highlands parking lot doesn’t run after October 31st.
From the Aspen Chamber. It was an easy online reservation and you select your departure time. Enjoy!!! aspenchamber.org/plan-trip/trip-highlights/maroon-bells/reservations
Yes, right now you need a reservation for access to Maroon Bells. We took the shuttle and it was great. You can book online at aspenchamber.org/plan-trip/trip-highlights/maroon-bells/reservations
@@diemnguyen7569 you don’t need a separate hiking permit to hike any of the trails once you get into Maroon Bells. There are trails for all different level hikers. It’s all included in your reservation via the Aspen Highlands shuttle or parking pass. Aspen Chamber keeps all the latest info on their website and you can check before you book to see if anything has changed. Hope you have a good visit!
You have to pay for either the shuttle from Aspen Highlands to visit or reserve parking right in the park to visit. Parking to take the shuttle is also additional. It’s not too bad though and definitely worth it!
@@FarmtoTravel Hi. Yea, I mean can I pay for parking to take the shuttle in advance? Or is it first come first serve? I plan to get there by 10:30 am and I'm afraid there won't be any spot left. Thank you
How can you talk about marrom bells, without a single mention to John Denver! There are definitely something wrong with this advertisement?? Or maybe you don’t know John Denver And what’s he represented to Aspen!
Great job ! I’m planning my first trip to Aspen this Sep, very useful information here, especially for families with kids, thanks !!

Good point unfortunately it's labeled as a beaver dam on the map. I can see why she was mispoke.
