My dog had a lot of ear infections her first year, the vet kept giving her antibiotics and I'd clean her ears daily with the ear cleaner they gave me, she still kept getting them. I had someone tell me that their dog did it when it was allergy the food it was eating. I had asked the vet that and they said oh no it's not that she's just prone to get them. I changed her food a couple times trying different ones and only when I started making her food and making sure it was gluten free that's when her ear infections stopped completely. I told my vet and they said yeah that could help. Well it did help her totally get rid of them, no thanks to them because they couldn't keep charging me so much.

I truly believe all the dog food we buy from these pet stores are bad. My dogs that I had growing up eat our left overs and they never had any of these problems! If I ever have another dog they won’t be getting anything from the pet store it’s nothing but poison in my book!

@@karenglasing7809 Homemade, I make a chicken one with veggies and brown rice & also a beef one with veggies and brown rice. It's almost the exact recipe that Dr Jones has had on here before. You could look back and find it on here. I also give her calcium powder in her food and a multivitamin/probiotic/glucosamine. People think it costs more to make than to buy it already made but it really doesn't at all & it's so much more healthier for them.

    Dear Dr. Jones;
I want to give you a Bravo. You stepped out of a secure practice to follow an ideal for the sake of the little creatures whose health was your responsibility. I'm sure it hasn't come easily. No doubt you were attacked and slandered by those with whom you once associated; vet professionals as well.
You are an encouragement to many. Fully trusted as well. My hope is that you and your family will prosper more than ever. Best and warmest regards to you.

I am so grateful to have come upon this video. My little Angel Baby, a mini dachshund was suffering terribly from atopic dermatitis and ear infections. Who would have thought the two were connected! I had her to two vets, Several times. In my eyes, I was losing my baby girl. She was losing her hair, her skin was hardening, she was itching herself into frenzies, where I had to give her a Benedryl. She looked like deaths door ~ literally. She had an allergy test and it came back, she was allergic to everything, but vacations. About a month ago, I came upon this video and you mentioned, kind of in passing atopic dermatitis and my ears perked up. I immediately bought some of the Sterols & Sterolins New Roots. Dr. Jones, you saved my little girls life! Her itching has been reduced to almost nothing. Her face, ears, chest and feet hair is all growing back. Her skin is smooth! She has energy again. She is twelve years old and she acts like a puppy. I Thank God for You and all you do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my little girl. Forever Grateful. xo

Years ago my sweet dog had something in her ear it was brown in color and I would clean her ears with the wipes that I bought from the pet store but it wouldn’t go away so I took her to the vet and they gave her antibiotics and it went away. It came back but it didn’t swell or become red but i never had a dr. Tell me what was wrong they tested it but said it was allergies but I think they just didn’t know what it was, just wish I knew you back then I would have driven hours for my dog to see you. I’m convinced that gluten in pet foods is responsible for many health problems. I lived on a farm for many years and it was interesting to see how the pigeons would settle en masse to feed on crops such as sunflower and corn, but the wheat they avoided as long as they could. They know by instinct what we do not.

Stop feeding beef. Try that, please... I adopted a Rottweiler with chronic ear infection - the shelter planned to do that surgery but I strongly requested they allow me to have him seen. I took him to a dermatology specialist vet. We did the medication compounds (twice) to address the infection. Once the infection cleared, observation identified his ear infections were directly related to beef. Please save your pup's hearing, remove beef from the diet. The dermatologist vet says beef is a high allergy item we feed to our pets. No steroids, no more meds, I clean his ears every one to two weeks, just to keep them clean, and no beef. He is infection free for two years now and has his fully functioning ears. (Dr. Lauren Pinchbeck in NY & CT) Look for a good specialist vet in your area.

This sounds very similar to what I went through with my dog. I discovered through my endless hours of research that he likely had biofilm in the ear. It can be nearly impossible to get rid of. What worked after 5 years of constant infections and meds (and holistic remedies) was a product called Zymox. It's the only thing I've ever found to address biofilm in ears. It worked and his ear healed completely. His ear skin inside was even thinning and would bleed any time I touched it, till I found that stuff.

She is not welcomed to our local vets as I have decided to no longer vaccinate her. I truly believe that natural remedies are way better than medication from the vet but am getting a little nervous. She has head tilt. Walks slowly and very discomforted. After researching I am wondering if it is an issue with the eardrum. I make mullein oil for ear infections and to treat infections, helps reduce pain as well. I pick the yellow flowers from the 2nd year plant, then lay them out on a card board or plastic so the little bugs crowl off then cut up some garlic slices or pieces, layer the flowers and garlic, fill jar with olive oil. Keep it out side and in the sun but cover it with a rag so its not in the direct sun light and it will forment so you will need to burp it, you can also buy burping lids but you can just unscrewxthe lid daily to release the gas for about 10 days. You also can google the i formation how to make mullein oil. You can use a prefilter or coffee filter and add it to dropper bottles but you need to keep it in refridgerator then it eill gel up to prserve it then you put in a glass of worm water for a minute or so for each use. Every 2 years I make a new batch. I use it for many different cases in skin problems.

Carbohydrates are often to blame. This includes all kibble dog food with cereal. I found that Butchers tripe worked in part for my dog. It has no carbs. It took it from a dreadful 100% yeast allergy down to 20% but we are just on week 3. So please with the results. However still combine with ear cleaning every day and the green tea mix. Also bathing every day to get it off the skin. You need an antibacterial shampoo. It is a dreadful thing to get rid of. But vets offer steroids and antibiotics. Both of which don't cure the problem....it just masks it. And it destroys healthy bacteria in the gut. Which reminds me a good quality probiotic each evening.

Thanks for your info. I'm just feeling so overwhelmed with my dogs allergies. Gretel 🐶is a nine year old blond American Cocker Spaniel. We live in London Ontario Canada. Gretel suffers from ongoing ear issues.(ie dig at ears, dark discharge, red swollen ear canals) The redden paws and arm pitts have improved.Gretel does have Pet Insurance and we have made frequent claims.
Approx. a year and a half ago we removed all foods with animals made that have feathers.(ie duck,Turkey, chicken. This has been successful in reducing these issues. Infact if she does receive some of this food,I notice a flaw up. Gretel is now eating white fish with oatmeal and it appears to be helping.
At this time Gretel receives the following medication, Aprecaol each day.burrows solution to the ears,a cleanser and Mometaamax PRN
Do you have any opinions for me to add something to this regiment of Medications? I thought the one for her to lick the medication off my finger sounded interesting.
Gretel is MY Best Friend, she will NEVER go without anything to make her life healthy and full of fun.
I feel so bad when she sees me get the ear treatments she runs and hides.
Are you aware of an attachment to some type hose to clean dogs ears.our groomer mentioned this to me.
    Sorry for the long comment.
    Take care,
    Leslie and 🐶

Do you have supplements that deal with all of these things that I can buy from you? I think my dog has this problem. She has big floppy ears, and gets constant ear infections. She also has red itchy skin, licks her paws all the time. She's constantly itching. I'm pretty sure she has ear infections from allergies..

Our dog looks much like Tula but is 52lbs. We had her tested for allergies. She is apparently allergic to life.
The antibiotics do not seem to be working anymore. She gets several nasty ear infections a year.
As soon as we seem to clear up one, she’s back with another one.
She doesn’t have any skin issues, oddly enough, it’s just in her ears. One vet tried her on Apoquel, but one dose caused her to have inexplicable, rapid breathing. As we lost her sister to a heart attack, we didn’t give her any more. I found out later that that is a rare neurological side effect, but still possible, especially as she is almost 13.
Thank you for giving some suggestions that offer hope.
