My last Trash Taste episode before heading off to basic training. I've watched every episode since you guys first began this channel (and I've watched more than half the episodes twice). You guys have carried me through thick and thin and really helped motivate me these past few years, for that I just want to say thank you! Edit: Thank you everyone! I'm leaving for my flight right now but the encouragement/tips really help with the nervousness. Also, not that it really matters but I'm a girl haha, still thanks for all the kind words! I'm really gonna miss the weekly Monke, Grant, and Josh but I'll be happy to binge episodes when I get back!
Dentist here! The smell comes mostly from the wipes/disinfectant we are using in our offices (I am using hydrogen peroxide at mine). As for cleanings, you should go twice a year at least. Pro tip: you can always ask the dentist/hygienist to reduce the power of the ultrasonic scaler if the noise annoys you during a cleaning. Nightguards will prevent teeth wearing from clenching/grinding, but also from jaw articulation problems on the long term. (Connor, for your nightguard, you can ask your dentist to trim it a bit to make it more comfortable.) Btw, love your show and it makes my fridays more funner! Keep up the good work boys!
Boss, as someone in the UK who has to wait a year for my dental appointment, can I ask what to do to make my gums healthier? I use soft bristle toothbrush and even so, my gums would start to bleed. I can't even floss too much because it would cause heavy bleeding.
i thought that was like normal for dreams like how many times have i just lived an entire life making memories and stuff and at the end of my life i just say goodbyes to the world, it slowly fades away and i slowly wake up
@@zooning-6843 You'd be surprised how many dreams you can remember once you start keeping a dream diary. I used to remember none of mine but after keeping a dream diary I would remember my dreams every other day and in a lot of detail. I stopped after a while though cause I got lazy XD
this is actually so fun to do, i started it on a random day in 2017 and today i have 100 notes on my phone, listing off all that i can remember from the night before. it's always a blast to read through them. as fun as it is though, i doubt you'll get dreams if you put pressure into *dreaming* just so you could make content out of it

Once I got sleep paralysis and instead of a demon or stuff I saw flames in my room.... the most pathetically fake, cgi generated, 480p like flames ever like even a mediocrely edited youtube video would have had more realistic looking fire so I wasnt even panicked, just dissapointed like damn even my sleep paralisys is low budget
Naming these sorts of episodes “The _____ Episode” is legitimately really useful for archival purposes, should this video ever need to be referenced again. Thanks, whoever does that.

@@tko3833 a vaccine isn't some 100% fullproof guarantee, it just means your immune system is stronger and more resistant against a particular disease, like wearing a ballistic armor to a gunfight (you can still get injured) you would know that if the education system in America wasn't such a failure, and yes I bet you're American
1:09:34 Hi, therapist here. Dream analysis and interpretation is kinda in the "fun to discuss, may hit on some useful insight here" category of theories and techniques we use. I'd steer clear of "professionals" claiming that there is an exact meaning or symbolism to everything. What you'd sooner see in the mental health field is working on sleep hygiene (real-world habits and behaviors that can affect your sleep, potentially helping with nightmares/sleep paralysis/night terrors/etc.) or processing things like anxiety, trauma, etc. through sleep disturbances and dream content. Connor and I might have a conversation about how he always dies in his dreams, but we'd sooner collaboratively explore what his mind is telling him and what real-world thoughts and feelings may be expressed here, rather than me telling him straight forward what his dream means. However, I'd say it's probably because of jump king. On a separate note, there are reality checks and other exercises you can do to lucid dream more effectively and consistently. This is not a therapeutic approach, and I don't recommend it. The more you lucid dream, the more likely you are to wake up abruptly, which can cause sleep paralysis and then you might hallucinate and see Connor in his Beastars cosplay. 2:02:29 I'd be happy to "psychoanalyze" your dreams, though this isn't something that can be done in the comments section. It's a conversation with a shit-ton of follow up questions about your history, daily life, emotions, views of yourself and the world, etc. John, Grant, and Sebastian therapy episode?
That would lead to a very interesting episode on Trashtaste or on your channel but I bet all 3 of them would feel violated after that lol. What do you say to people who can predict the future with their dreams though. That happened to me once in my life and I interpreted the dream through traditional Chinese dream reading online and the thing really happened. There is absolutely no way I would know that was coming either, it was out of the blue kinda occurrence and doesn't happen often
@@wongtan5680 I've personally had experiences like this too, and have personally witnessed others' sleep talking that predicted the future. Through all my research and work with it, I can't explain it through a psychological lense.

Food Poisoning is for sure human error in a way that can be controlled. Serving food that is off or cooking it and thinking it will be fine is poor judgement. We took food poisoning/food bourne illness very seriously in all aspects of food production.
I think what Connor was trying to say is that, food poisoning is not as affected by the person 's immune system as other diseases. I agree with that, If two people get in contact with someone that has a virus, they will get sick depending interely on their immune system and their overall body health. If two people eat something that doesn't have a good quality, they both have a really good chance of felling that natural body response to "get rid" of that food.
The more I hear Connor talk about this, the more it just sounds like Connor's dreams basically work as if he's playing a video game. He has respawns. He's apparently the only one with any kind of emotional complexity and everyone else is just mindless npcs. He's eventually aware that everything he's experiencing is fake, but even if he has superpowers or impossible things happen, he's still stuck within the bounds of the dreams like how in a video game you're still stuck within the confines of the game's mechanics and level design. They say you can't experience death in a dream because nobody knows what death actually feels like. I think you're limited by whatever you can at least conceptualize, which is why people can dream about impossible stuff like flying. In Connor's case it's just that his brain conceptualizes everything via video game logic, which is why he can "die" even though that's still not technically what they mean when they say you can't die in your dreams. Basically, the shock of the dream doesn't immediately knock him out of the dream like it does most people because his brain has an equivalent experience from which to conceptualize the idea: death just means you reload the level.
I agree with Connor. If someone asks me "when was the last time you got ill?", I'm thinking of the last time I had a virus, like a cold or flu, not the last time I got food poisoning.
it has got to do with the preventable of an illness/disease. If someone eat like a pig and get diabetes type 2 i would call it an illness, but i would also preface it by adding "preventable" in front of it so that my stances of it is clear. Same with someone smoking or eat chicken raw.
@@aliak530i If I hear about someone getting Type 2 Diabetes from undercooked pork, I feel like I should start a career in investigative journalism to find out what lab is creating virii/bacteria that can affect how the body uses insulin and why they are putting it in livestock.
Same, but only because I don't think I've legit ever gotten food poisoning. There's quite a difference between "ugh, that stuff yesterday probably wasn't as fresh" stomach aches and "I could legit die from dehydration diarrhea", which would be gastroenteritis, which I would classify as a sickness.
I like how this conversation started by them saying they don't remember their dreams ever and then proceed to talk for over an hour about the dreams they have
The more you talk about your dreams, the more you remember. off hand, I don't remember anything from my dreams, but if I think about what little I do remember, I start to remember more.
I love how Connor is just sitting there while Garnt and Joey are talking about their girlfriends' sleep habits Edit: It's funny how I didn't know my comment got so many likes and comments till five months later but thank you lol
The entire time they were arguing about the food poisoning it could've just been solved by stating he thinks it's a different kind of illness because it's not contagious
@@reggaewart4489 true, they explained it very poorly but I'd put cancer in a different category than the flu and food poisoning as well since it'd be in the non-contagious but long form off illness category
That's kind of a slippery slope, though, because while "food poisoning caused by expired food/salmonella" isn't "contagious", something like gastroenteritis, which functions much the same, IS contagious. I think the easiest way is to just assign a "threat level" to these ailments. Like stomach/headaches would just be "minor", flu would be "medium" and cancer/huntington's etc. are "severe". It's kinda hard to break it down precisely, though, because there are just so many factors. I mean where would you really put a cold, when it can be mildly inconvenient to one and deadly to another?
While the boys clowned on Garnt for saying jerk, he's actually correct. The term is 'hypnic jerk' and happens as your body is adjusting itself into stage 2 of Non-REM sleep.
I always thought its just the body growing since I mostly feel this jerk furing the times I had growth spurt and it usually occurs when I trip or fall in my dream.
I think I understand Connor's point. He gets a cold like once a year every year, but he only gets food poisoning if he goes out and eats bad food. So he could just not eat that food or have it prepared better, but you can't really do anything to prevent getting the flu or a cold. Yes they're both illnesses but you don't get them through the same circumstances.

Thisvis my favorite episode. I find it so interesting how diffrent each person dreams. I found out that not everyone has color or sound in their dream and thats so weird. I love the human brain
I kinda understand what connor is saying, Basically it is up to your immune system to keep u protected and prevent illness as u go with the flow of your day. If it is too much for your system to handle u get will. But food poisoning is kinda different if u are getting food poisoned once in every 2/3weeks, i can relate. Sometimes u are like, "damn this egg look kinda off but who cares i will gamble and eat it scrambled anyways" or "damn these biscuits been out in air for hours and looks damp but fk it i will eat these anyways" kinda thing , half the time u get ill half the time u dont. I do this shiz all the time so i get it. It is just u sabotaging yourself
I had such a terrifying dream about a society that punished artists, there was an entire plot and everything but holy fuck the ending was so depressing
Guys! Keep a dream journal, write down what you dreamt right after waking up while it’s still fresh. Then at the end of the year do another episode about dreams, should be interesting xD
Google: _only a minority of approximately 1% have lucid dreams several times a week._ *_Connor: So it's NOT normal for you to be aware you're in a dream??_*
While Connor was speaking about being stuck playing a game on his nightmare, I couldn't help but imagine a dystopian future where we are forced to watch advertisements inside our dreams in order to continue sleeping.
I have narcolepsy and this episode is so interesting to me bc I can hear how "normal" people experience sleep and dreams. The type of dreams they had, how they experience the dreams + the sleep paralysis thing is smth I experienced but 10 times more intense. I had countless instances of sleep paralysis before I started taking meds, sometimes with a "sleep paralysis demon", sometimes mixed in with hypnagogic hallucinations. My sleep paralysis demon isn't the typical strange creepy figure in your room, it's more of a fear manifesting. For example, I thought people we're breaking into my home and I want to do smth but I can't bc paralysed. And then I start panicking bc in this moment everything feels so real. I've also had many lucid dreams before my meds, also dreams that were so indescribably vivid or felt so real that even after waking up it took me a while to realise it was all a dream. Narcolepsy makes you go into REM sleep very quickly and you get a lot of it. REM sleep is connected to lucid dreaming so people with the illness can have lucid dream way easier. However, REM sleep isn't the type of restful energizing sleep, one of the reasons why narcoleptic people are so tired during the day.
So, that's what we know about Garnt at this point: - in his sleep he dreams about pissing a lot of times in a row when he needs to do it irl - he once had a dream, which he still isn't sure he woke up from - he also goes on toilet breaks way too often ... We all are living in a Garn'ts dream confirmed.
What Garnt was talking about, when he said that he "hallucinates" between being awake and sleeping, actually has a name: "hypnagogic hallucinations", which are "vivid visual, auditory, tactile, or even kinetic perceptions that, like sleep paralysis, occur during the transitions between wakefulness and REM sleep. Examples include a sensation of impending threat, feelings of suffocation, and sensations of floating, spinning, or falling." I get those a lot, and I also suffer from insomnia.
I'm a med student and I kinda agree with Connor lmao. I think food poisoning (foodbourne gastroenteritis) is definitely an illness, clearly, but what I think Connor's trying to say is that he doesn't count that as being "ill" in a typical year. When you picture being "ill" you typically think of respiratory illnesses so that's why he counts the flu or a cold as being "ill." I think there are many who have a similar perspective! Also, food poisoning is it's own category of gastroenteritis - foodbourne gastroenteritis.
Connors food poisoning take actually makes sense to me. Food poisoning isn’t transmissible between two people. You can’t “catch” food poisoning in the air. It has to be gotten from something you ate.
Yeah, I think Connor was trying to differentiate between chronic/seasonal illness vs circumstantial. Some people might only get the flu once a year, which you can't control. Whereas you could probably give yourself food poisoning every week if you tried.
No, he is just thinking that illness is due to having a weak immune system. So if you lead a healthy life, you have lesser illness. If you have alot of illnesses, its because your lifestyle sucks. He is just saying having food poisoning isn't comparable to having a flu because having a flu is due to weak immune system, but having food poisoning is because the food was bad, not because of a weak immune system.
20:23 I think Connor's thought process on illness is "If he can sue someone for getting him sick and win, then it is not an illness. If not, it is an illness.
I'm scared that I understand Connor's point about food poisoning. He's interpreting "How often do you get sick?" As having to do with your immune system, not whether something is a virus or bacterial infection. So while yes, food poisoning is bacterial or what have you, it doesn't really reflect your normal immune system so in his interpretation it's not getting sick.
Actually agree with Connor here. How many times I get sick a year is different, that's flu, cold, covid etc there's a reason they go with the seasons and spread around. Food poisoning is not really illness in that way, it can happen at any time
as a medical student i was so mad listening to his argument (because he give a horrible explanation ) but now that you put it this way, it actually makes sense
Yeah but you can get ‘food poisoning’ symptoms from airborne virus, similar to flu virus, covid etc. it’s not always bacterial / caused by food. There’re viruses that attack your stomach/ intestines (like covid virus can attack your lungs etc.) so immune system does matter here
I get where Conor is coming from because if someone asked me how many times a year I get sick, I wouldn't include food poisoning unless I got it very often. I think he sees illness more as something that is contagious or transmissible from human-to-human. Food poisoning isn't directly human-to-human and isn't contagious from other humans (unless there's some special kind that is).
Connor was right on the "food poisoning is a consecuence of the chain of production going wrong" at least, for you to get it you have to drink unsafe water, eat something contaminated by feces, eat undercooked things or dirty things, etc
@@ChocolateKieran There are definitely completely different categories of "illness". Obesity is closer to food poisoning than corona for example. Is myopia an illness? How about simple pollen allergy, does that count as 'being sick'? We're not talking about anything that counts as an illness, it's about what counts in your quota of getting sick. I sneeze every single day of my life because of allergy, but I wouldn't count that as being sick. There are also different kinds of food poisoning. Garnt probably got seriously sick in China, but Connor might just get the occasional shits from some food his body doesn't tolerate. Simply saying 'sick is sick' is a tautology and provides zero information.
@@lodevijk nobody disagreed that there are different categories of illness. That’s the point! There are and Food poisoning is one. ☺️ I understand the nuance of how people define being sick, but it sounds from the first thing that you said, even you agree “food poisoning isn’t an illness” isn’t correct. Just like Anime is a category or type of cartoon. That’s all.
Connor talking about closing the bathroom door in the expressvpn ad is hilarious to me after watching the Ironmouse/Chris broad speak of the devil episode
1:00:19 It's called "false awakening". And the scariest part about this when you first-time experience this is you actually TRYING TO WAKE UP BUT YOU CANT!!. The wake-up part feels soo real like it you waking up from your bed and going about your day, you even feel conscious of what you're doing but then something weird happens and you actually want to wake up for real but again, you'll just go back to start and dreaming again. Scariest sht I've experienced in my life
This is probably the most relatable episode yet, when garnt talked about the peeing in dreams thing. I totally get the feeling of it because ive experienced it myself. i remember i was drinking alot of water before to sleep because my throat is dry af and i keep coughing so i mustve drank like a gallon of water. Then in my dream i kept going back and forth to the toilet and just piss. i remember i was so angry too because this irritating feeling wont go away. Then when i woke up i legit just piss for 2 minutes straight on the toilet. So weird
Ahhaha I had A One Where I Was Actually Doing My Studies (and It Was hard annoying Rageing while doing it) I Was Pushing Through It With Will Power and I knew it was a dream but I still hoped it was not and continued with the Studies (and my Dream Suffering) and then woke up and Was in Absolute State of annoyedness Note I Absolute Freaking did Not Do Any Freaking Studying That Day My Will Power Was Empty I Still Remember The Annoync I Felt To This day It Probably Was The Most I Felt in My Life Until Bow
I really hate that type of dream, Like in my dreams ai even got to a point where I thought I actually woke up and did pee in the toilet but I'm actually still dreaming. And when I wake you get real paranoid and check the bed if I wet myself. It really trippy
10:27 Here, Connor isn't the only one. A few times during the beginning or spring or mid summer, every time I get what feels like allergy symptoms, I tell my body: " no, you're not allergic to dust, flowers, pollen, NOTHING. You're fine. Don't be a wuss" and somehow it worked every time
I've never heard, (just like Garnt said)such a in depth talk about dreams. Its one of those things where I think everyone experiences the same as me. But Connor is lucid dreaming 24/7, Garnt has character development
yea it's strange how dreams aren't really talked about that much, everyone experiences them so differently, it's really interesting to listen to. I think this might be my new favourite trash taste episode, it was so fun and interesting to listen to their stories
I enjoy the podcast by ghosthoney. It’s called „Ghosthoney‘s dream machine“ and in it people talk about their weird dreams. It’s really fun to hear what kind of dreams other people experience.
The thing about sleep paralysis is that in that situation, your conscious and subconscious merge together because you’re in a state that is sleeping and awake. That causes you to hallucinate hence the demons and ghosts. What i’m usually doing when i got sleep paralysis is to keep my eyes closed and try moving my body. That way you can’t see the hallucination and not getting panic and to be honest, its kinda fun trying to moves you body in that state.
I'm pretty sure Connor is trying to say is that an airborne virus that's contagious is different than food poisoning which is a bad reaction to food and is not contagious. I don't understand how he couldn't just explain it like that lmao
i guess 'cause then they brought up cancer, which isn't contagious but it's still clearly an illness. i still agree with Connor tho, 'cause food poisoning is just a consequence of someone's actions, while any other illness is accidental
That section made my brain hurt so bad. Connor isn’t saying it’s not an illness. He’s basically saying that getting sick is different than getting food poisoning. It’s categorized differently because of the cause which is the food or how the food is prepped. Sure food poisoning makes you sick, but if asked what kind of sickness you have, you’d say food poisoning.
Regarding food poisoning: Yes it can be due to bad processing / hygiene. But every region has regional bacteria, that we grow used to. When you're in a new area, and come into contact with their bacteria for the first time, you'll get food poisoning/sick.
Connor: *reads ExpressVPN ad script saying that he closes the door to the bathroom* Chris Broad to ironmouse: Connor does not close the door when he uses the bathroom
Yep pretty much. After all these trash taste episodes, I feel like connor have garnered notoriety in shit takes that even his completely sound points sound off to garnt and joey. Lmao
I agree with his food poison not being counted as "getting sick". I feel like he just didn't use the word immune system. When I think of how many times I'm sick a year, my brain goes to how many times has my immune system failed me. I wouldn't include a restaurant feeding me poison either.
I’m never conscious in my dreams but a lot of the times when I wake up (only when I can remember the dream) the dreams come in sometimes explicit stories with details that I write down. Sometimes I feel very strong emotions in my dreams. for example, I was in a situation of a worldwide sickness that kills people in 7 days or less(spreads to person to person very easily, can also spread through the electric waves that come from items like microwaves, idk, that was a fact in my dream/so we got rid of the microwave we had), and I was living with this girl that I was in love with(she looked like gaeul from viral hit), I traveled miles with her to her school and traveled back every day(no clue why she was still going to school) and the streets were deserted and the skies were always grey and dark. The “character” I was playing (my pov I guess) was a young guy with brown hair and he kinda looked like baam from tower of god, and I realized I had the sickness when I was at home and the girl was still at school, I fainted and then I woke up to the girl holding me in her arms, even though she knew she would get infected and die too. It was weird, because the love that the guy i was playing had for the girl was way more than what I’ve ever felt for something I did love irl, like it was overwhelming(cringy I know) to add on, the girl in my dream was really dumb and nice and an airhead and I wouldn’t like her if I knew her irl. A long time after my dream I still felt the feeling the guy had for the girl but I can’t recall it anymore. This was the first half of my long dream. the second part i was myself in my own body, in the same universe, and i had the very same disease. I can go on and on about my feelings and specific thoughts then too. btw, me, the girl and the guy were co existing (until they died ofc). (This was a very bad summary and I wrote way more specific details of what happened in my notes, ask questions about anything if you want)
@@milky..877 I played two people in my dream, the boy and me (it was a two part dream in the same universe. I just switched pov in the middle of it) , the actual me looked like me. My family in the dream was actually my family (or they looked like them at least).
Being a mexican i can agree with connor on his food poisoning take, holyshit i also respawn in my dreams, thats crazu, somehow connor described the exact same things that happen in My dreams
When you lost loved ones, like your parent, there are dreams that will occassionally come to you where dreams felt like a reality. The worst thing is in that reality, the departed is still alive and well. Then maybe in your lucidity, you remembered that the person died already, but then in that dream you are able to convince yourself, "oh, he is still alright, maybe the person just died in my nightmare" so you talked with your loved ones like you used to do, until you woke up, and you finally realised that it was just a dream. In one dream you walked out of your bedroom and he is there, greeting you. In another dream, you are visiting him at hospital, alive and well, conversing happily with you. In every occassion, it kind of messes your reality, but make no mistake, the real life is real life. Sometimes, I'm just grateful that I can have a chance to see my father outside the reality, but sometimes it is just a bitter reminder that he is already gone - you just don't want to forget, but you have to move on. That's probably like having a permanent scar in your mind, and that's alright. It happened for the first 3 or maybe 4 years, and then it is gone, becoming episodic occurence (like having similar themed dreams in 3 days row). After like 6 years now, I no longer experience it. You kind of missed it, but hate it at the same time for reminding you the sad things. It is definitely much worse compared to other scary dream, like walking in a park to a distant nuclear explosion (Terminator 2 scene), but you vividly remember about your lives flashing before you while the shockwave rapidly approaching. Being inside in a traumatic plane crash or train accident, only to wake up on your daily routine - a freaking dream in a dream inception - ah I'm on my way to school, you'll recognise the street, you are both happy that you are not in a horrible situation and panicking because you might forgot your textbook, studying for the test, or homework, but then you woke up to alarm clock and found yourself on your bed. You'll definitely know the feeling of dying in your dream, a mortar round exploded nearby, but it misses your foxhole, but then a tree is falling into you - bam! You are in dying state like apnea or something. Then you wake up to nothing. You woke up thankful that reality is much less messed up, but your dream isn't just as consequential.
I admittedly simply skimmed through this very long comment, but I definitely agree with your first point that losing someone can cause them appear in your dreams and almost feel like reality. I haven’t lost someone truly close to me, thank every lord, but as a child I did have someone close to me who was no longer in my life. And so I’d have dreams of being reunited with them again, only to eventually wake up and realize that it clearly wasn’t the case. But it’s crazy how much dreams can trick our brains into believing they’re real, despite the fact that they’re more or less unconscious hallucinations.
My weirdest dream experience: it was at one time when I deprived myself of sleep for 3 days straight, those days were pretty active and I moving the entire time. literally did not even take a nap for a minute. the moment i finally got some rest i almost went into a coma. I slept at Wednesday afternoon and woke up the night of the next day. almost 28 hours of sleep. but the special thing is, i was entirely aware of the dream and oddly felt i was losing control of my real self. so about 20 or so hours in, i had almost a full day of sleep now, and I started to be aware of the dream state. it was basically the happiest version of life i could imagine, it also felt really empty and no one there actually felt like a real human. by that i mean shit just happens but no one worries. because bad events simply fixed themselves or straight up got deleted or reset before happening. so I do go with the dream for a while. I know I'm dreaming and I'm not bothered by it. but it was literally taking too long. I had the feeling that this was dragging on far too long. I try to wake up but I just cannot, so keep on trying. but the more it went on the more i was getting worried. i was actually thinking if could ever wake up again. the dream was weirdly kept going on and everyone in the dream ignored whatever i was doing. but I was legitimately, sitting down and panicking about how to get back. after what felt like an hour since I became dream conscious, I felt like I was hearing the real world. I could hear my phone calls and my alarms which has been snoozing and ringing over and over again. that was like a sign, I was hearing external noises. and I had real fear that I might be at a risk of entering a coma. so this time, I didn't try to "wake my mind", but instead I decided to try moving my body. with all my energy I moved my body and I actually fucking sat down. finally. I could now barely move my body and my hands. but my brain was not there. the dream was still ongoing and events and people were still there. so I just try to manually move my hands to open my eyes. and I was the weirdest shit I've ever been through. I opened my eyes and it was a weird image of my room and the dream overlapping in my brain, both at the same time. it was super surreal, it started to give me headaches very fast. and in confusion I kept blinking so hard. for a few seconds, one time I blink and I see the dream world and the second time I blink I see the real world. The headache quickly took over me though, and then it was all that was left. I was finally awake again. I was super exhausted and didn't find a way to process whatever the hell I just went through. what's more than that, i was now scared of ever going back to sleep. It was at night when I woke up, i did not go back to sleep that night. nor the night after. and halfway through the next, I was just too tired that I fell asleep. but it's still one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced.
Not to rain in your parade, but that wasn't one dream you had. Or if it was, your time perception got giga fucked in post processing when you woke up. Dreaming happens during REM sleep, which usually only goes up to ~30min bursts throughout the night. Would make sense though that your brain starts feeding your dreams into your dreams, because it's fairly likely your brain uses the experiences of the day to create the dreams. So if your only experience during the day is dreaming, well...
holy shit sound terrifying but cool asf. I rememeber once I had to solve some puzzle in my dream to wake up it was so weird and this reminded me of it.
@@doomdoot6731 yeah dude I'm talking from my perception only. 100% chances the numbers are all wrong. could've all happened in the last 20 mins and i wouldn't be able to tell the difference
The worst nightmare I've ever had was me being on the North Pole for some reason and getting my skin ripped off by an ice bear. Somehow it also pulled me under the snow and it suffocated me while tearing my guts out. I woke up screaming, drenched in sweat. That's also the only dream I ever remember having.

It isn't an illness though, I haven't gotten to that part yet but illness to me is either reoccurring or persistent. Correct me if I'm wrong but food poisoning mostly lasts for as long as whatever you ate stays inside you, juxtaposed to an illness where it can only be guaranteed gone if treated properly.
@@kotarodesu_23 well to be fair, food poisoning is also referred to as foodborne illness as far as I know. At the least Salmonella is known as a foodborne illness.
@@arcticwendigo2062 That's true, technically it is an illness, just in its own special category I guess. But it's like saying a sprain is an illness, it happened based on the circumstances that one could possibly get a sprain and lasts for as long as you're sprained.
@@kotarodesu_23 Yeah I suppose I do get that point of view. It is certainly a different feeling, but since illness is an all-encompassing word it ends up covering pretty much anything outside of the norm, so it almost loses its meaning anyways.
@@arcticwendigo2062 Yeah that's true. Ironic though because you'd think the medical industry would be more thorough about it no matter how jargon-filled and convoluted it gets as it already is.
Yeah, if you are always sick but it's due to food poisoning it's because you're fucking up and not in the same category as someone with a weak immune system that's constantly getting colds.

i once had a friend sleepover and midway through the night they sat bolt upright started grinning in a really odd way then they started grabbing my comicbooks and tearing them apart like a nutcase...all the while snoring away. next day they wake up covered indestroyed comicbook pages and ask shocked as heck 'oh shit who tore your comics up?' they had zero clue what they did and still deny the idea of doing such a thing to this day....apparently this is why his parents didnt keep any books or paper based things in his room...and never felt the need to let me or my parents know beforehand....
About 3 years ago I literally have the inception dream like garnt lmao. Somethings weird always happens and then I woke up into another dream. The last layer of dream before I woke up, my mom said something along the line of “Have you not realized it yet?” and then I woke up shaking and drenched in sweat.
I never considered getting food poisoning the same as being ill. I would always say "oh no, I'm not really ill, I have food poisoning". This is so weird, I never thought people perceived this differently.
Joey's story about sleepwalking into his parents room to take a piss as officially solidified that we are kindred spirits. We've got too much in common
This is a really interesting episode, for some reasons the "me" in the Dreamworld doesn't know he's in a dream even though what's happening in the dream is so gruesome or how f*cked up it is, I always wake up thinking it actually happened then minutes later I just slowly realize it was a dream, and it always feels so real as well. There are dreams sometimes that my brain just present me people that I don't know, names that I don't know or placed that I don't know it's strange. Really good episode, it's my first time really thinking about this dream stuff and I just thought everyone is experiencing the same dreams but in a different theme and settings. And for the people who's about to sleep rn, have a great night.

Do you sometimes feel de ja vu? I had prophetic dreams in which I would suddenly know what is going to happen and I move through the motions without even thinking about it. I am also a lucid dreamer and I do get the feeling of living in a vivid fantasy. I remember names that I shouldn't know, faces that doesn't make sense and feelings well up in my heart just trying to visualize my dreams. It's such a beautiful mystery and a wonder in the human psyche.
@@vhalrougelarfouxe Ohhh that is rather interesting, in my case things just appear that I didn't know, names from people I haven't met, people who I haven't met, places I haven't been and they're not blurry at all it feels real. It's so bizarre how the mind just gives us stuff that doesn't make a lot of sense, I'm sure there's some giga brain explanation about stuffs like these but I'm rather uneducated enough to explain thoroughly.
@@UFOinDisguise actually, and this is just my own theory, the brain is such a great machine. You see, just like the heart that never stops beating, the brain does not stop working. It slows down the neurons and gets us into hibernation. Now, there had been a longstanding truth that "Time is a matter of Perception." I can attest to that. When I was around 15 years old, I fell into a Lucid Dream. Lucid dreams are dreams in which everything is CREATED by your mind that YOU can control. And I had been trapped in that dream for a year. When I woke up to OUR reality, I was having Dissonance Disorder and had to be medicated for a while. This now leads to my theory. Dreams are not just dreams but an alternate reality. It may sound ridiculous but that whole year I was in was like Inception. I thought I was living my highschool life and continued as if that was real. And most of what happened in that dream became prophetic. I had dreamed a year into the future. And even though I knew what happens, I cannot change it because it's as if Fate was holding me like a puppet in her strings. That's my experience. You don't have to believe it but I am just sharing this because I think it would be an affirmation to those who are like me and thinks they are crazy.

Hi, therapist here.
2:02:29
I'd be happy to "psychoanalyze" your dreams, though this isn't something that can be done in the comments section.
Food Poisoning is for sure human error in a way that can be controlled. Serving food that is off or cooking it and thinking it will be fine is poor judgement. We took food poisoning/food bourne illness very seriously in all aspects of food production.
Idk why but I agree with Connors take
@@laroc9058 yeah Connor is right but he explained it super poorly lmao
@@laroc9058 I agree with it but it was painfully described
I think what Connor was trying to say is that, food poisoning is not as affected by the person 's immune system as other diseases.
I agree with that, If two people get in contact with someone that has a virus, they will get sick depending interely on their immune system and their overall body health.
If two people eat something that doesn't have a good quality, they both have a really good chance of felling that natural body response to "get rid" of that food.
if u never went to eat the food then u never got sick, but colds and the flu is just exposure to shit
Yeah exactly. Connor's dreams are exactly like video games, Garnt's dreams are exactly like anime/movies, Joey's dreams are more balanced.
So Conner is such a gamer that he even dreams in game logic
And his dreams are also rendered exactly how cpu's do 😂😂
Yea I thought the same thing too
Gamers don't die, they respawn.

Same, but only because I don't think I've legit ever gotten food poisoning.

So, that's what we know about Garnt at this point:
- in his sleep he dreams about pissing a lot of times in a row when he needs to do it irl
- he once had a dream, which he still isn't sure he woke up from
- he also goes on toilet breaks way too often
...
We all are living in a Garn'ts dream confirmed.
If he is going on a lot of toilet breaks now that means he will wake up sooner or later
@@braiscarreira7565 wouldn't that mean then that our world would end? I'm not ready
Garnt: "I'm throwing facts here" While spewing 100% incorrect information, you gotta love it
Who knows really
What Garnt was talking about, when he said that he "hallucinates" between being awake and sleeping, actually has a name: "hypnagogic hallucinations", which are "vivid visual, auditory, tactile, or even kinetic perceptions that, like sleep paralysis, occur during the transitions between wakefulness and REM sleep. Examples include a sensation of impending threat, feelings of suffocation, and sensations of floating, spinning, or falling." I get those a lot, and I also suffer from insomnia.
Man the suffocation is the worst, It been a while since I had that and only remembered when I read this comment.
Yet he also classified cancer as an illness in the same respect?
Yeah I agree to an extent
I also agree with Connor on this.
I once dreamt about a close friend who had died a couple of years back.
Got to tell him how much I missed him and got to hug him one last time.
Aww that's kind of beautiful
Connors food poisoning take actually makes sense to me. Food poisoning isn’t transmissible between two people. You can’t “catch” food poisoning in the air. It has to be gotten from something you ate.
Yeah, I think Connor was trying to differentiate between chronic/seasonal illness vs circumstantial. Some people might only get the flu once a year, which you can't control. Whereas you could probably give yourself food poisoning every week if you tried.
If you kith, you have a chance of spreading the bacteria
he wants to say that food poisoning is a different kind of illness. Well he is right, its called food borne illness, but its still an "illness".
Actual Serious
Question
What's Food Poisoning
No, he is just thinking that illness is due to having a weak immune system. So if you lead a healthy life, you have lesser illness. If you have alot of illnesses, its because your lifestyle sucks.
He is just saying having food poisoning isn't comparable to having a flu because having a flu is due to weak immune system, but having food poisoning is because the food was bad, not because of a weak immune system.
20:23 I think Connor's thought process on illness is "If he can sue someone for getting him sick and win, then it is not an illness. If not, it is an illness.
That sounds so British😂

You could turn this wholesome moment into a painting.
Food poisoning is not really illness in that way, it can happen at any time
Yeah he's making an argument as to a person's predisposition to illness.
as a medical student i was so mad listening to his argument (because he give a horrible explanation ) but now that you put it this way, it actually makes sense
Garnt getting covid clearly proves that Bidets fight off the rona

“Food poisoning isn’t an illness” gives the same energy as “anime isn’t a cartoon” for some reason 😂
Connor was right on the "food poisoning is a consecuence of the chain of production going wrong" at least, for you to get it you have to drink unsafe water, eat something contaminated by feces, eat undercooked things or dirty things, etc
@@rustypwn yeah that’s fact! It’s still an illness though!

So weird

10:27 Here, Connor isn't the only one. A few times during the beginning or spring or mid summer, every time I get what feels like allergy symptoms, I tell my body: " no, you're not allergic to dust, flowers, pollen, NOTHING. You're fine. Don't be a wuss" and somehow it worked every time
I Also Do That
Most people think to fight fire with fire, but Connor fights food poisoning with food poisoning.
Everytime someone talk about dream, always remind me of Juni Ito manga about Long Dream
I don't understand how Joey and garnt didn't get it honestly
But that is contagious tho.
i guess 'cause then they brought up cancer, which isn't contagious but it's still clearly an illness. i still agree with Connor tho, 'cause food poisoning is just a consequence of someone's actions, while any other illness is accidental
Connor's takes on dreams are the most relatable to me. The fuzziness of the details, the nonsensical sequence of events, spawning over and over, etc.
Regarding food poisoning:
Yes it can be due to bad processing / hygiene.
But every region has regional bacteria, that we grow used to. When you're in a new area, and come into contact with their bacteria for the first time, you'll get food poisoning/sick.

2. You're very unlucky.
@@andrewm8992 technically, if you have a weak immune system you’re more likely to get food poisoning.
he is technically right though, your body not gonna get sick on its own, unless you're fucking it up or unlucky.
The difference is bacterial infection (food poisoning) vs viral infection (common cold). 😅 one's contagious and the other isn't.
Damn that's a fucked up dream
Since u were playing another person were people from your real life in ur dream? And did they know u as The real u?

My weirdest dream experience:
it was at one time when I deprived myself of sleep for 3 days straight, those days were pretty active and I moving the entire time. literally did not even take a nap for a minute.
the moment i finally got some rest i almost went into a coma.
Bruh did you just got isekaid

It isn't an illness though, I haven't gotten to that part yet but illness to me is either reoccurring or persistent.

This was such an interesting episode and now that they have talked about nightmares and sleep paralysis, I feel like I'll have those later at night
I just woke up from having one of those lmao, I never have those, but for the first time in forever I had one of these nightmares
@@specch.8873 kinda glad that i dont even remember what my dreams are when i wake up. It felt like my mind was just a void lol.
so, how was your sleep last night?
@@azura827 still a void lol
Had a bit of a stomache pain, ignored it, continued working for a week. Didn't go away, went to the hospital. My appendicitis had become so severe, i had to have half my bowel removed.
Have never ignored any symptom since then.

Paracetamol is also pain killer Garnt
Really? I thought it was Ibuprofen. The medicine i take has them both. I though Paracetamol was for fever and the other was for pain killing.
@@b_hav_6365 Paracetamol eases the pain which results in subduing the fever, its a pain killer 😅
@@b_hav_6365 Paracetamol is both antipyretic (for fever) & analgesic (for pain). But its pain killing characteristics are mild so it's commonly the first line
Forget dreams about going to jail, I've had a dream where I was on death row and they were about to take me in for the lethal injection.
