    A few years ago I read an article or saw a UA-cam video about some people that were going around putting QR codes on tombstones that would link the person that was visiting to a website about the deseaced person. I thought that was pretty neat because you see what the person looked like and there may even be videos of them.

    Super helpful. I had to go to offsetfill instead of fill to get mine to work. Do I have another setting not right?

    hanks for this great video! What about wood engraving?

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  Рік тому +1

      Hi Luca, You can use this same method to engrave wood, or any material. All you need to do is use the material settings for your laser and use the same workflow to create the result you want on the material you want.
      If you don't know how to work out the settings for your laser (each laser uses different settings) check out this tutorial here!

    Thanks for the video, I'd like to ask about something, We are converting QR code from PNG to DXF and open it by Lightburn to engrave it on acrylic but it fails, any advice?

    Great video. Is there a minimum size a QR code has to be so as to scan it?

    Awesome video, I have a question. Is it possible to control lightburn from Command Line? I would like to:
    1. Open it
    2. Select QR code generator and set positioning and size on the board
    3. Add string from which the code will get generated
    4. Start the executing process
    Lightburn will be receiving a serial number and I would really like to automate the process of code creation and engraving.
    Best regards

      Hey Meta Data, thanks for your question! :)
      I personally don't use the command line when using Lightburn, but after some research, I discovered you could load images via the command line. Here is a link to the article, and you can always reach out to Lightburn to explore the command line functionality! :)

    I am in the market for a laser engraver / cutter. Your videos have been a HUGE help for understanding the capabilities of laser engraving.
    I've watched this video and the Serial Number video. What I need is both--serial number QR codes. Is this possible?

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  Рік тому

      Hi Tim,
      Both Serial Numbers and QR codes can be generated in Lightburn.
      Are you wanting to "automatically" generate QR codes the same way they were done with serial numbers?

    • @TimEpperson
      @TimEpperson Рік тому

      @@LaserLivestream Yes. I would like a barcode that contains the text in a serial number for each label. Just like the barcode example but automatically incrementing for each label.

    Hi Gil, how would you do these on anodised aluminium. I’ve tried but they don’t work, but the same done onto wood do. Many thanks for any tips, hints.

      I have not done a specific test, but I have seen QR codes that are 3 cm2 that work well. What are you planning on sticking a small QR code on?

    I just spent a week writing code and making spreadsheets for generating QR codes to laser and I had no idea lightburn had this built-in. 🤦‍♂️
    Do you happen to know if it would be possible to generate QR codes from variable text in an array? That would save me a ridiculous amount of time if possible.

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  5 місяців тому

      I can imagine your frustration upon discovering LightBurn's built-in QR code feature after putting in so much effort! Regarding your question, LightBurn does indeed have the capability to generate QR codes, but its ability to create them from variable text in an array is a bit limited within the software itself.
      However, you can use a workaround: prepare your variable texts in a spreadsheet program like Excel, and then use a batch processing or mail merge-like tool to generate individual QR codes for each text entry. These QR codes can then be imported into LightBurn for engraving. While LightBurn doesn't directly support array-based variable text for QR codes, this method bridges the gap efficiently.
      Have you explored any specific batch processing tools or scripts for this kind of task? 🔄💻🔖

      @almightytreegod 5 місяців тому

      @@LaserLivestream Actually, I had forgotten about this comment, and I got it to work beautifully!
      You just use the variable text merge like you would normally, putting %x (x being the column of the CSV, of course) into the content box for the QR code, and make sure the variable text merge option is on there.
      It blew my mind realizing this worked!
