I don’t believe his career was ever in jeopardy. Tyler was going to be a superstar regardless. He has too much talent, creativity, personality, and charisma. I think what Tyler did is just make a move where people took his MUSIC more serious because his PERSONALITY was becoming bigger than his musical talent. He found a great balance in my opinion. I like how if you follow Tyler’s album catalog from start to finish you’ll see how he found himself with each release up to Flower Boy. It’s a great story of resilience maturity and finding true confidence in his musical abilities. And IGOR just solidified him as a LEGEND and undoubtedly one of the greatest artist of our generation 💯 CMIYGL solidified him as one of the greatest RAPPERS of our generation 🔥

Tyler basically said “oh no I’m too funny, they only remember me for my jokes and not my music talents.” Like Donald Glover/Childish Gambino. Dude went into standup and music at the same time and music came out on top in the end. I would love to hear a conversation between the two bc I can see a lot of similarities in their knack for talent in multiple areas.

I understand the whole it's not a rap album, but it wouldn't be classed as pop either as "people who look like him" (he's words) created the RnB genre (which is basically Black Pop) so if anything it would've fallen into that category.

For me personally, CMIYGL is Cherry Bomb but done right and I’m glad everybody likes it unlike CB. I know everybody is mixed in that album but it really came at a weird time in my life and I really enjoyed it.
