I feel like a lot of the songs are Tyler trying to convince himself that he doesn’t need this girl, he’s got everything he wants at hand, but in the end he accepts that she’s hurt him and he really liked her and can finally move on
I just can’t help but compare tracks like WILSHIRE to IGOR and find the blatant almost stream of consciousness style story telling in his latest tracks so much less engaging than the genius executed in his previous record. The way he reveals information in IGOR feels so much more deliberate and is amazing for re-listens and reevaluations of the content in those songs.
I could be wrong but the phrase “call me if you get lost” could be aimed towards the girl he likes as in let me know if you lost trying to chose between her boyfriend or Tyler
I love the storytelling in all of Tyler’s albums it’s pretty much in his style to tell a story through his albums I always wonder how much is real how much is just his creative liberty but none the less it always relates even loosely to feelings I’ve felt before
People also don't get why he adopted the nickname "Baudelaire". Charles Baudelaire was a known 19th century poet, who wrote "Les Fleurs Du Mal". It this book, he writes poems about gore and weird things, like d3ad bodies, satan, woman, and a bunch of other edgy things, and he is making art with those topics. This could be compared to the early days of Tyler, when he just talked about edgy stuff and made music with it. And to top it off, a recuring subject in Baudelaire's "Les Fleurs du Mal" is the theme of traveling, and in this theme of traveling, the presence of a woman is seen as necessary by Baudelaire, hence why Tyler made a whole album about traveling, and also traveling with a woman.
Bruh I totally feel you on that one. You get the gist of a failed relationship in one song. I should say, one emotional journey. That song is crazy. To think it’s not my favorite on the album, speaks of the quality of this track list
i think tyler’s rapping on itywtd is one of his best verses of all time. it’s so passionate and perfectly captures the emotion that he was probably feeling during the whole situation. great video.
SAFARI is easily the most underrated on the album. Definitely a contender for the best on the album. The verses are both amazing, the brass is so good, and it closes the album so perfectly
@@the.afronautz the last verse might be my favorite Tyler verse ever, his energy, passion, bars, and nice flow just go so far for me. Such a great verse

All the argument over what era is the best, like all of them are great in their own ways. Goblin was an explosive take on Tyler’s younger years, Igor was a hopelessly romantic album with a banger for every song. Flower boy is an introspective picture of Tyler maturing. I personally listen to all his music

LOVE THIS ALBUM. I listen to the songs individually usually, but watching this video and going through all of them just reminds me how much I love this album.
One thing that I think is also important in “I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE” is towards the end when they sing together, its almost as if they are talking to each other. Admitting that it was the right person but the wrong time. But when the time does come that they are willing to dance with each other and not to forget each other when even when they have someone else, waiting for the perfect moment where they are both able to have what they had. It’s sad but beautiful that they are willing to remember what they had and hold onto it when the time is right. Where they can finally be the right person at the right time.
CMIYGL in my personal opinion is such a sad but raw type of story, the tale of uncorresponded love and the fall of it hits so hard home for me, the feeling of falling in love with someone you can never have, this album showed it in the best manner ever.
I love trying to figure out the storyline! That was all I was doing for the first few weeks after it dropped 😂 Its such an amazing album with such an indirect story while also having just enough to piece something together.
