Beautiful! Tablescape is fantastic and the cake looks amazing. Friendly tip that I only even learned a few years ago. I used to have the same issue with my mixer. In an empty bowl with your whisk attachment, place a quarter in the bowl and turn it on low. If you mix the quarter around, your settings are good. If not, there is a screw on the head of the mixer that you adjust slightly and it will lower or raise your attachment thing. I’ve had my mixer over 20 years as well and never knew this 🤯

Yum, for chocolate cake instead of using butter and flour to help prevent from sticking, I use butter and coco powder, so chocolaty. Love your videos 😊

I love Ina's recipes. I have all her books and I use them all the time. It's so sad that the great cooking shows have been replaced with those nonsense "contests". Rachael Ray has been very outspoken about this. I really like the idea of decorating with edible items! I'm sure the Supper Club had a really great time!

I love Ina Garten and have most of her cookbooks! I miss her show. I have not made her chocolate cake, but after seeing yours, I must try! Her parmesan mashed potatoes are to die for, and I also do a chicken dish of hers served topped with arugula and homemade lemon vinaigrette. Your table looked lovely! Glad you are doing well!! 💗

Hey, you might really like using a Kitchenaid flex head attachment paddle with the scraper on it. I use that paddle more than any of the other types that came with my mixer.

I’m definitely going to try that cake. I don’t like coffee, but I do love chocolate. I have two Kitchenaid mixers. One I got for free from our old bank. It’s probably been twenty years ago. It’s a white one. Then I bought myself the Tangerine orange one when my style changed. I kept the white one for one of my granddaughters. She’s probably forgotten about it. But I haven’t. I just bought some cocoa so I can make chocolate cake without mixes. I love layer cakes. I have a glass cake stand with the top. And I have a metal stand with a glass top that was my grandmothers. I love to set a nice table. But the dining table I have is a small round table with only four chairs. I miss my old table. It was enough room for six with two leaves. I never thought to decorate a table like you did. That was really neat. And simple. It’s about the food and friendship around the table. I hope your dinner turned out well. I’m sure it did.

Instead of using flour -I use coco powder-I love Ina’s chocolate cake I make a ganache on the top with chocolate buttercream in between lawyers-all her recipes are 😘😘

Love this video, you have bounced back fabulously from your surgery🫶🏻 Such great recipes and a great summer club menu, you should have put some little cherry tomatoes on some of the pasta to look like flowers 😂Unfortunately I’ve started early onset menopause and have to stay away from everything yummy now, all that contains BHA and BHT because they are hormone disrupters. Lucky me 😢. However, because of having to avoid those ingredients I have lost 7 pounds in 1 month. I guess you really do find a silver lining on each cloud Lol

Oh yes, Ina's chocolate cake is THE best!!! I make it a lot! Sometimes I used whipped icing and it is good regardless!!! LOL Love how you did your table scape! Love all your videos!! Wish I had people to do a supper club here where I live, but I usually just host my own parties... can't wait to see your fall videos!! :)

I love Ina Garten too! Her French apple tart is divine ! Try her Coeur a la Creme with raspberries! It's my hubby's favorite but, I did have to special order the dish to make it in. You won't regret it. Recipe is in Barefoot in Paris but, you probably knew that! 😉

Ina Garten, "The Barefoot Contessa." ☺️ My mom called me that (it comes from an old movie) because I would never keep my shoes on as a child. When I got older I liked to read her cookbooks. She's excellent 👩🍳
When setting a table, the glass goes at the top right - above the knife. 🔪 but, you got the knife blade correctly positioned with the blade facing into the plate. A art of setting a proper table is foreign to so many seasoned and young!
