Ya. This is my, general, list since late in second edition. Glad my style of list has a good showing; also sad that the cav/monsters/etc are a bit lackluster though.
The Ogor were just a massive tide of meat washing over the Idoneth. No tricks, no fancy tactics, just a massive brick of wounds for the Sea Elves to chew through and choke on...
So glad to see the new edition, ty Seasons for getting this up. And I’m personally glad you air all matches, even ones that are a bit one sided like this one. If you guys “selected” or “edited” what content to share, I think it would feel less authentic. Cheers
Loved this game a lot. It actually has me pumpes for deepkin. I feel the ish guard want to be separate units. That way they can proc their passive separately. This will either, get you two chances of rolling the minus one to attack or let you attempt minus one to attack against two units. The allopexs are a little niche and against this match up are just a weird separate fight unit. The reavers were great. They kind of wanted more tide caster attention or a second tide caster that could baby sit them. Not sure how hard it is to bring multiple heros though. The turtle was a little bit of an old duck. When brings the aspects, as the turtle doesn't support them as they have their own wards. Also the tight space also seems pretty tough. I loved the idea of being the 'maybe' kronspine for your single caster. It's like that tide caster was just flipping the ogers the bird (fish) every time she casted it.
Great game guys, fun showcase of the new rules. Dont sweat the little mistakes. We all make them, especially with the new edition and such changes. :) Also Jordan, I'm not normally an Incarnate fan but your model for it makes it totally acceptable! xD Great stuff again though, can't wait for more! :D
Endless spells and terrain features are only units for very specific purposes. Magic section rule 7.0 details the times manifestations are units. Similarly, terrain rule 1.5. Thus the boat and incarnate should not have counted for the slaughtermaster's token ability.
@@gump1119 While they are units for the purposes of being the targets of combat attacks etc., I don't think that they count as "units destroyed" for the slaughtermaster.
Gotta say, great game! Love the content! Love to see ogors on the table! I am confused by this ofor general. 3 casters, no tyrant with ironguts, prayer on caster even though he cant use it and cast in the same turn. Yeah, just confused. But its his first game and ive yet to play mine so i assume he knows something i dont
Dont forget, in the new edition, before rolling for a targeting spell, you now must declare a target before you roll for casting. It's going to be a hard habit to break.
Slaughtermaster ability doesn't trigger with an Endless or Terrain faction. These things are only affected by abilities that requieres to pick them, so passive or persistent effects can't be applied to them.
*spoilers* I appreciate that you took the double turn to show how effective it can still be in the right situation. I imagine it could be tempting to draw a game like this out a little more for the audience, but I like seeing what armies are capable of in these kinds of situations.
IMHO the game was already over by that time. Not sure how much it mattered. But I agree with you. In some cases it will actually make sense to take a double
Re: Soul Raid Ambushers: 24.1 says "At the start of the fourth battle round, units that were set up in reserve using a DEPLOY ability and that are still in reserve are destroyed." If you deployed your reavers off table during deployment, then pulled them from reserve and put your reavers back into reserve every turn, would they still be destroyed at the beginning of 4th?
Ogors had no shooting but Idoneth should still get a chance to use covering fire, was that used in this match? Didn't see it in the first round when it would have counted most.

Seems to vary a lot by army and build - the Cities army in the last report is 1,950pts in AoS 3, while the Lumineth in the preview show battle report is about 1,750. How much of that is due to generally increased prices for Lumineth and how much due to price hikes on specific units used in that game we can't yet know.

The "never degrades" refers to last edition where its save would worsen the more damage it took. In this scenario due to the Purple Sun, it was hit with -3 Rend, 3 Damage attacks. That will wreck almost everything.
The first AoS 4 battle report of yours that I watch. Quit after half. Not interesting. I’m not interested in the armies and I hope it’s that. It’s good you started with these though 🙂
Spearhead isn't a reasonable comparison for real AoS - the sets are far too variable in content without a points system to balance them, and they were up against a Spearhead that's deliberately weaker than the AoS 3 sets, since it seems to be a template for a reduced-size box just as the 40k10 Combat Patrols shrunk. The ogre box is particularly unusual for a Spearhead box in being I think the only one that contains 4 line units (5 in Spearhead thanks to splitting the Gluttons), since ogres have old kits that are cheap enough GW could fit more into a Spearhead box than they can more modern kits.
Honestly this is so stupid. Ogors are now hilariously overtuned , take gluttons/ironguts and just move them forward to wipe your opponent in 3 rounds max. AND they got cheaper for some unknown reason. I knew 4th edition was looking too good it had to be ruined in some way, this gives major Eldar in 40k 10th on release vibes.
