I need the desk mount. Is there a place I can purchase it?
Hi. Just purchased this and, like many others that have made comments, I cannot get the arm to set in one position. it just springs back to full height. Is there a locking clip or something that can hold it in place, or at least make it stiffer?
anyone else see the irony in a video about a microphone boom arm with a quality mic sitting in front of him but they record with what sounds like the computer microphone?
WARNING: Thank you so much for this. I went with the Rode PSA1 for my Shure SM7B and I am so happy with it. I have one thing to say, though. If you are ordering from Amazon, make sure that your PSA1 does not ship from Amazon's warehouses but from the seller directly. It's just that if it ships from Amazon, there is a big chance that they have a warehouse process where the middle articulation gets pressured against something and it breaks. I got one like that and it comes with a broken cable plastic router and it squeaked a lot (a metal against metal noise). I had to send it back. I then read a lot of people complaining about the same when getting it directly from Amazon. I ordered on Amazon but I went to "Available from these sellers" and bought one that said "Ships from [seller]" not from Amazon. The second one was bliss.
you're an angel
How is your boom staying still bent mine just springs to fully extended
Came here for this, did you find a solution?
Same man
Same
@@krystalhalleday7502 SAME. have any of you found any solution?
just tighten the screws on the joints
Great description of the boom arm, helped a lot. Thanks
Best boom arm out there! Able to hold lots of positions, no matter the mic. The only problem I have is the tightening screws, they get in the way constantly, with most mics.
I had to change my configuration. I forgot that I had the in-desk mount all along. You reminded me. Thanks.
great review, found what i wanted to know
Very helpful. Thank you!
Hi
Hi 🙋♂️
Oh my..
Great review! helped alot!
Thanks for this mate.
Super helpful
Thanks for this video. This is new territory for me and I'm finding there's a lot of assumed knowledge when it comes to putting it all together. Your video breaks it down so it's clear and understandable.
Thanks. Bought it, use it, love it.
Very good review ! Thank you.
SO helpful, thank you ❤️🔥
Excellent review. Thanks.
No problem!
Thank you for this review i just bout this stand !
mine keeps springing up even when I have the mic installed, any way to to tighten up the springs so I can just adjust it freely?
did you figure it out? I have the same problem.
Me too. But I think it needs microphone weight.
anyone else that is having this issue, i saw another vid u need to tighten the screws if u have a springing issue
Great info! Thanks a lot!
great review straight to the point and exactly the info and video demo I was looking for
Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful 👍
i am using a low end arm with my Rode NT usb aswell and i also did some research about Boom arms/shock mounts and NGL they are kinda expensive, especially bc there isnt a LOT of material involve.
Nice presentation. Thank you.
Hey, the video really helped, thanks! But is it possible to also add the regular pop filter of the Rode NT USB to the arm? Or does one really need the shock mount for that?
Does anyone know of a good platform around $15 that I can get to hold the arm? I can't clamp it onto my desk or drill it into it.
I have never seen a clean video like this before , thank you 👌
Thanks! 👍
my Oh...
but it still sticks straight up
Please, could you tell me the exact size of the arms in cm ? I only find the full extension, but is it like 40cm each arm really ? I have seen some cheap options, but they are only 35cm for each arm. What size do you reccomend ? I´ve seen people using 70cm and 80cm arms in professional radio stations.
Outstanding video. I am looking at getting one fast. Can you tell me this? I have to do the drilling - which is fine. What I need to know - is between sessions or during editing, how hard is it to remove from the stem piece and store it. I do not mind leaving what one might call the stem - base - but it is a pain to pull off and store when not needed for desk space? Remember I can not use the clamp on. A quick repis ly appreciated - as I am looking at an over purchase where someone is selling two now.
Great Review 👍
My executive desk doesn't have a proper distance to mount directly to my desk on the edge. I really like how you had the way you mounted it to a printer stand on your desk that had the proper clearance which would work well for my situation. What type of printer stand is that?
Can you dismount the popshield from the shockmount? And if it’s possible can you mount the original nt-usd popshield on with the shockmount mounted?
Hi there, I would like to check if this boom arm is compatible with my Shure KSM8 or other types for handheld mics. Thanks in advance!
Good review mate.
Thanks man!
Will this boom arm work with the at4033/cl?
Great video! I wanna be sure about using my nt usb mic with the pop filter inbox is possible aswell ? I dont want to buy a shock mount and another pop filter.
thx for a review!
Hey do you know if the stand is compatible with he Nt1a? If so, do you know why the mount keeps spinning around on the actual stand?
Does this work with the Razer Seiren X USB Microphone?
Thanks for the clear, concise, clickbait free review.
How far does it reach as I have a big tv and my desk is like a meter away from my chair
Can the end fully rotate to be pointing straight down? I'd like to use it with my mobile phone adapter to shoot overhead product shots.
Very much appreciated sir
Can you move the mic it’s self to the left and right while it’s on?
Nice review!
Thanks! 👍
Hey! Just wanted to ask. Do I need a shock mount? I cant attach my Razer Seiren X to the boom arm. Or just am I lame? Thanks!
Yeah, mine just springs right back up. How do you get it to stay down lower without holding it?
Mine too 😕
@@stanzachemski Have you attached your microphone already? Requires a bit of weight to stay in position
Hey :)
I don't know if you found the solution by now, but I had the same problem as you with my original mic (which was a bit light) and what I did was tighten the tension screws just a little bit (you can find then on the side of the boom arm) and it fixed the problem. Hope I could help ;)
@@Mapherez yea it wasn’t until I put my Shure SM7B on it before it stopped popping up.
Ah adding my mic to the arm added enough weight to make it stay bent at the angle I wanted, thanks everyone!
buena explicación. Nice!!
Got it thanks!
Thank one for sharing.
No problem, I'm glad it was helpful 👍
I have a question, I have a hyper x quad cast will it be compatible with this mic arm?
Brooo , this is the video i was looking for.
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH
Awesome, I'm glad it was helpful! 👍
this helped a lot
I have the RE320 and a shock mount (Electro-voice 309A). Will this boom arm work with my setup?
It might but it is mainly designed for RODE mics. I would check to see if the thread size of your mic matches the thread size of the boom arm.
@@ImmersiveTechTV thank you. Also I'm worried if psa1 can hold up the weight of my setup, which comes close to 1.3 kgs but rode says psa1 can support up to a maximum of 1.1 kgs
How do I connect it to my camera without using a Aux
How do you stop it from "springing" open? I can't get mine to stay in place
Which adapter do you have on the end? As I can not see it in any of the available Rode PSA1 Arms in Germany.
Does it make sound when you move it ?
Would this work with my AKG - P120 condenser microphone?
Nice vid Fam. How about the shure MV7
The arm is springing out like when you cut the yellow thing. How can i fix it?
can you use Razer serien X with this rode mic , thank you ; i hope u can answer my question
Will this work with a hyperx quadcast
Does anyone know what is the little clip for? The one on the bottom "wheel" of the arm itself
Tlm 102 micdoes it work whith this arm hope Someone answers?
Hello dear, Can I use quadcast s on this?
Can the arm stand straight up vertical if someone is standing up?
Bro I have the razer seiren mini . Will it portable for this mic?
I just installed mine but how do I loosen it up such that it is flexible like your in the video? Straight out of the box, mine had a hard on and I cant bend it and get it to stick like i need it too
Mine was also very stiff when I first opened it out of the box. Have you put a microphone on it yet? Once I attached my microphone on it the weight of the microphone was enough for it to hold in any position I need.
Does anyone know of a boom arm I can buy that will mount to a wall? I’m looking for something to mount in my vocal booth.
Does this mount work with the Razer Siren X?
Can it hold a shure sm7b I think someone using it with shure sm7b
How do you make the arm stay in the correct position
very helpful
how do you stop it from retracting back up?
Hi mate, nice rewiev! But please could you include the spring load? 5/10 comment is about it.
can i use this with blu yeti?
Can you use the Razer Seiren X with it?
is the arm work with sound annoying sound ?
ALL THE STUFS IS IN THE BOX?
does it not accommodate the Blue Yeti?
can you use this microphone with the tonor q9?
would this work with a hyperx?
Can i fit a shure sm7b microphone on it?
Does the razer seiren x fit it too?
does this work with a blue yeti?
with neumann tlm 103 mono set work?
I have this same arm and mic. The silver piece that prevents the vertical movement works great but the spinning piece lets the mic spin with no resistance. The piece i'm talking about is where the shock mount attaches to the arm. I'm not sure what the silver washer is supposed to do either. Not sure if it's broken or you had to do something different. Would you know?
Are you talking about the silver washer with ridges on it? I tighten that washer in to lock the mic in place so it doesn't spin.
Immersive Tech TV yeah. I’ve tightened it against the mic as much as I can but the knob on the top still spins the mic freely so I can’t really put the mic to an angle.
do you know if it supports the nt1a
i have the trust gxt desk stand not the boom arm!. is it possible for the trust microphone + shock to add it to the PSA1 boomarm??
You may have to look into the thread dimensions of your mic and this boom arm to make sure there compatible. The PSA1 boom are does work with other microphones but is specifically designed for certain Rode mics so I can't say for sure.
got the mic and arm for christmas!
Same, merry Xmas
Flazer u too!
Thanks you!
Where can I purchase the desk mount?
Can you still use the shock mount that came with the Rode NTUSB Mic with this set up?
Yes, you can use the shock mount that came with the Rode NT USB mic with this boom arm 👍
Does this work with a HyperX Qaudcast?
Will it fit an AKG P420?
My mate broke mine so now it makes the worst screatching sound and it’s really hard to move 😢
I love this arm so much I am buying a second one!
why need second ?
@@heybreath I put too much WD-40 on one of them so it broke and I can't use it. And also I have two houses.
Thanks, great!
No problem! 👍
Thanks. I have bot a Rode VideoMicro to mount it on the PSA1. But the PSA1 arm always shoots high and straightens out. Maybe the VideoMicro is too light a mic for the PSA1? Is there a way to lock the PSA1 in the angle I want, without it going up?
Man I had to ziptie a 1kg weight on the arm to make it stay still..
What about Rode N2a ? Can it hold it?
What’s size is the stem on this arm??
