Wow 🤯 Amanda Cook put to words, using language, to bring a very real self awareness to the Worship community: “ she didn’t feel comfortable with people watching her on a stage to self regulate” do you know how many people are going to be liberated with the realization of this revelation? Much-needed for future healing for future worship leaders 🤯❤️

As a creative - also recently diagnosed with ADHD - Amanda's story makes perfect sense to me. It's refreshing to hear so much from someone I feel I can relate to. Even the whole "not wanting to play in front of people" thing because it's so vulnerable...I always felt the same. I loved, loved, loved House on a Hill. It gave language to much of my own journey, and I was right there with her the whole way. I just loved this conversation. Thank you ladies, I admire you both so much.

Why is it Christian comment sections are always the worst? It’s sad to me that people’s faith can be so fragile, that words can trigger them into deciding someone else’s walk with God is wrong. What she is saying is valuable and valid. Not to mention I would be willing to bet her music has inspired more people to walk with god than anything anyone in this comment section my self included.

There's a fine balance between just being nice or silent to get along vs. going with the urge (need?) to address deception. Do we say nothing to be kind?
Should we only pray? Should we speak, but make sure to say things as gently as possible?
I'm naturally very blunt. I go back and edit and delete all the time when I get convicted that I wasn't careful or patient or kind. I'm often torn about whether I should leave other Christians alone about things like yoga or cussing or secular music or new age or (fill in the blank) that are now rampant in the church.
      It's a tough call.

@@RCGWhoI feel like we are not called to address other christians in their walk with the Lord, unless they asked us to speak into their lives. God honors our free will so radically, He allows us 100% to make our own choices, also in our walk with Him. If we choose however to be under healthy spirit filled leadership, we see way more of Him and thrive more beautifully everyday ❤ The Holy Spirit in us will convict us of truth in somebody’s words and we get a chance to see more truth and live more free.

I love this! We are declared righteous by the faith OF, not in, christ (Galatians 2:16 YLT). When we realize that He is the one holding us. He is the one, by the incarnation, that has created union with us (and all his creation). We realize that all our attempts to connect with God and try to make the Holy Spirit "come" or "draw near" are of works. That Grace is all on God's side and our union with God is already accomplished by Christ. We simply let go and fall into this ever present Grace where he has always already and forever will be holding us.

Amanda, you feel relief when you sing & play piano because God designed you for music & worship unto Him. As Rita says, He gave you a unique gift to use for His glory. You were intricately wired by the father's hands to experience His presence, especially when you play the piano & sing 🎶 He loves your worship 💖 So thankful for your obedience to say yes even when it's hard. Your sacrifice has helped so many believers all over the world to experience His presence through your music. I've faced many challenges in my life and your songs have always centered me & brought me back to the feet of JESUS. Sending you my love from Australia!🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

I so love and appreciate Amanda Cook and have for many many years! The way she so authentically leads people into such a deep intimate place with Jesus, Daddy God, Holy Spirit very much so still to this day. As much as I LOVED “Brave New World” album and every other album she’s recorded and released or every song she’s played a part in writing, I’ll have to say that probably her most recent album release “Survey” is SO genuinely all about Jesus and how there’s nothing in her life that has ever compared to Him. What I so appreciate about Amanda is her ability to speak about the deeper things that sometimes only artists and creatives can potentially truly relate to. She has the ability to speak on subjects without speaking “Christianese” that the lost want nothing to do with. Because I actually have followed her very deep relationship with the Lord and I actually listen to her music on an ongoing basis, I fully understand everything she is sharing here. She is still very connected to her sacred relationships she had at Bethel Church where Holy Spirit really did a deep dive in her relationship with Him. She recently toured again with Bethel worship and I’ve seen and heard everything she shared from her heart as she led people into a deeper place with Jesus in worship. I’m grateful that she has the ability to speak about these things in a way that someone who doesn’t relate to “church people” can actually understand and enable them to consider thoughts they had fully shut down BECAUSE of horrible experiences sadly with the Body of Christ. I have zero idea who this guy is that she quoted, but because I do know how grounded Amanda actually is in her relationship with Jesus, I’m not concerned because she’s mature enough in the Lord to discern the difference between what’s truly God and what’s not. I’m grateful that I’ve actually never had a lot of church hurt, regardless that I grew up in the Bible Belt. But I am grateful that Holy Spirit let me to an amazing “thinking charismatic” church in Nashville and I’m also forever grateful that He led me to learn about Bethel Church in 1999. With that said, I’m very aware of how church people that have shallow relationships with Jesus and have a sad Pharisee spirit where their first knee jerk reaction is to listen for ANY sentence they don’t fully understand or comprehend and IMMEDIATELY are ready to crucify a person they don’t even know much about. I’ve had amazing experiences with the Body of Christ and maybe it’s because I feel more drawn to reach the lost than to minister to the Body of Christ, I see so much that believers post on social media that don’t even carry an ounce of the love of Jesus nor the Father’s heart for every precious person He created. I do find it fascinating that so many in the Body of Christ FREAK OUT over scientific words like “frequencies!” It just makes me laugh a little because I’m somewhat aware that perhaps people who are not musical maybe don’t realize that anytime they listen to music, they are listening to frequencies. There are radio frequencies. Every disease has a frequency to where if one knows something about Rife machines, they’ll understand that you can set a rife machine to run at the frequency that someone has like Lyme disease where it’s sitting at as a frequency and it can begin to address the disease at that frequency. There’s nothing New Age about the talk of frequencies. I actually tend to be rather sensitive to being spiritually aware of when someone is sharing something that really sounds way off and not biblical. Amanda Cook is actually very grounded STILL. She is highly intelligent and this is sometimes why she can at times be misunderstood by the Body of Christ. But if you’ve listened to her latest album “SURVEY” anyone who is actually a laid down lover of Jesus will know that Amanda has only gone deeper into the heart of Jesus. Rita and Amanda are long time friends and Amanda knows she can feel safe sharing deeper thoughts with Rita because Rita has a history with Amanda and she knows where Amanda lives and breathes in her relationship with the Lord. There were a lot of fantastic takeaways from this interview that I’m really grateful for. I have very close family members who have deeply struggled with ADHD/ADD in sometimes debilitating ways that have drastically affected their lives. It can be genetic and it also can be a symptom of trauma or disease, like Lyme disease, which can really exaggerate any ADD symptoms a person may have experienced before coming down with Lyme. I’m now aware that I without question have dealt with ADD most of my life and can unfortunately see a long generational pattern of ADD/ADHD. But gratefully it didn’t begin to become jacked up until Lyme disease surfaced in my body. Anyway, I had NO IDEA Amanda had dealt with ADHD/ADD and so it made me really appreciate her transparency and being really real about all the ways this has affected her in life. I have a nephew who is highly intelligent and highly creative and musical who I believe could potentially relate to what Amanda has shared here. There are 7 different types of ADD and each often have to be addressed in different ways, but I’m really grateful meds have greatly helped Amanda to have the ability to organize her thoughts better on a day to day basis because I’m aware ADD can be crippling and difficult to navigate. She’s literally offering an open door to many in this interview that will only make those who have thought God was only whatever their bad experience has been and He’s not. He’s WAYYY MORE and there is no end to Him. He’s that GOOD. That’s all from me. I’m not interested in sharing my opinions or trying to make someone believe something, but I do struggle with believers of Jesus who don’t appear to actually be laid down lovers of Jesus in their comments on social media. We should all really focus on praying for one another and encouraging each other in the Body of Christ. I’m so grateful Jesus is on His throne and He’s not insecure about Who He is or nervous about anything. And I KNOW He is so incredibly proud of Amanda Cook and everything she has overcome. 💜🙌🏻

Thank you for bringing up the all these points especially the piece in ADHD. It’s very bothersome seeing others in the comments diagnosing her as demon possessed off of one interview and a lack of knowledge of the very real struggle of ADHD. I too have had leaders misdiagnose me and my family as demon possessed/oppressed because of their lack of understanding or empathy. That can be very traumatic to people and shaming when they just actually need help because they may see things differently. In all honesty, most of the prophets in the Bible could have been categorized as neurodivergent by these present classifications but instead the Lord used their different way of seeing and experiencing to bring him glory.

A couple of key take aways for me, from an extraordinary episode, were, "Movement (dancing, singing, moving) helps metabolize the things that we feel and the things we think." Yes, that totally resonates with me!!
Also, "If we don’t know how to behold we end up exploiting, and then we end up consuming (in our relationships with people). Beholding the miracle of what is causes us to interact entirely differently." I am all about beholding (and becoming like) Jesus, but to hear Amanda use and apply "beholding" in human relationships and how it keeps us from exploiting and using people for what they can give us (consuming) ... 🤯 She really put language to my thoughts and I 100% agree!
Thank you for this transparent and vulnerable conversation, Rita & Amanda! ❤

Thank you Amanda for being courageous and stepping out to do an interview, knowing that judgment would come from people about where you are with God. I’ve been there, as some of us have. A challenging time comes, and our faith gets tested. We feel left in the grief, sometimes feeling as though we are in it alone. Who God is, and who He is to us gets questioned. It can feel like a great shaking. Sometimes, it can feel like we’ve lost what once was, and part of that is true. While God is never changing, our exploration of
Him is ever growing and expanding. He speaks in so many ways and touches all of us in different ways. You are free in Him, and you belong!

I’m thrilled that Amanda sees this and doesn’t cower to other people’s fears. People are so afraid of what they don’t understand, what they don’t have a language or reference point for. A point in the podcast, that was also proven in the comment section. @@RCGWho exactly. It has nothing to do with her, not being able to please people. I don’t share any of her believes at all and I find everything she says in this video very troubling. People aren’t going to understand her and are going to call to question any other things she’s saying and she’s just gonna have to learn to deal with that. That is totally 100% on her and no one else. Now if she comes back to orthodoxy a.k.a. the Bible, then, obviously people will understand that, but if she is unwilling to then that’s on her. My doctrine, which is strictly the Bible will never align with hers and that’s just the fact. The thing goes for many other orthodox Christians. Our doctrine will never align and again that is her problem. I nor anyone else that is a viable believing Christian should have to change our belief system to understand her or to make room for her. She can choose not to come back to the Bible, but Amanda needs to understand that she can’t take offense to people questioning her and finding the things she saying problematic, and in some cases downright heretical. God should be the only one that she wants to please. As Christians, we are not to live our lives for pleasing people. And she does not please God buy you holding onto all these new rage believe that do not align with his word. In order to please God, she must come back to the Bible.

This was very insightful. I do wish there was more of a deep dive into her past because it really explains her personality , how she is wired from childhood because of her family roots, their beliefs etc. It helps shed light on how she looks at the Lord and how that relationship is even framed because of her previous experiences. Its the same for every human being. Also ..lets just acknowledge she is not AMERICAN. I think we as the American church are so quick to judge things because people don't speak exactly like us or view/interpret the Bible like we do. How fragmented the collective church can be when we are comprised of so many cultures, upbringings, understandings and intelligence. Regardless, I appreciate the conversation and pray that God continue to lead/guide Amanda, Rita and the rest of us in the comment section , by the Holy Spirit into all Truth. Amen. ❤

Wow! What a great podcast! There was a lot to think about and put language to. I think for me, what the Lord was stirring up, was that as creative who thinks and feels deeply about things, that it's ok if my work isn't like other people's and to not get caught up in, "Well, it has to be like this or that." I'm a photographer and it's always a constant battle to not compare myself to others especially with social media now adays. I think the way that I express my photography or express what God has put inside of me THROUGH photography just doesn't look the same as everyone else's way of expression and that's ok because that's how He's created me. I think that just watching this video has helped me realize that, so THANK YOU to the both of you! God bless!

I don’t even know why she’s a worship leader. She absolutely shouldn’t be. She cannot and should not be trusted to lead people into worship and she should not have any form of influence over the church, whether it’s worship leading or writing songs for the church to sing. I literally saw someone say isn’t God blessed to have her? Yikes! She is not on a level with God. God does not share his glory with anyone and Rita calling her a genius is quite awful. No one is more knowledgeable than God. Not me, not Amanda, not anyone. God is all knowing.

Beautiful extension to help me find words to express how I feel I was designed and created-in terms of sharing the love of God here on earth-often feeling like I ride in a different vein of the heartbeat of heaven than the world. I think this interview is a true gift; step back from over-judging her insight from the things she has read from Richard Rohr. Like many people, he has a lot of good insight into a walk with the Lord, but discernment is needed when the mysticism has gone too far and taken a later turn. Pray for him! Pray for all your brothers and sisters to remain or come back on the narrow path, but don’t condemn them.
Amanda is a wonderful gift; she is stepping out and giving you an articulate and rare insight into the processing of a woman of faith with an ADHD brain.
Her language is beautiful because it describes, after years of agonising wrestling, what has and is going on for her as she walks with Jesus.
The learning needs to come from us (UK over here, lived in USA and elsewhere too) that we are only just learning to understand neurodiversity being expressed in our world and in the Christian expression of faith. Look at it with the eyes and ❤ of Jesus and ask Him to show you how He sees her, and you will see His ❤ for her xx

The enemy has a counterfeit for everything but that does not mean the genuine, original from God does not exist. Someone in the comments mentioned that ALL music carries a frequency & vibration - even diseases have frequencies! The Lord created heavenly frequencies and you can discern it, especially in worship music ❤ I'm just using this as an example because some are commenting this interview contains too many "new age" terms however we are forgetting that the devil has a counterfeit and those expressions aren't necessarily automatically sinful. In Genesis we read that God created all things for His glory. The earth itself has a vibration - this in itself is not evil. We need to listen with the guidance of the Holy Spirit & not jump to conclusions out of fear.

Great interview. Thanks Rita for inviting Amanda to the podcast and not being afraid of the opinions and criticism of the "charismatic evangelical american church" that loves to hurl judgements about anything they don't understand. I was so excited to hear Amanda talking about Richard Rohr! He is a wonderful gift to the Body of Christ - please read his books they are life changing! Holy Spirit is always at work and she is revealing the goodness of God and the love of the Father to the world, and maybe more importantly the Church. I believe we are in a reformation, and while Charismatics are looking for another "revival" the revival has already started! It's believers deconstructing the nonsense beliefs about God and separation theology. The HS is at work revealing to the world that we are all his Children and his love is relentless and he will save his good creation.
I loved what Amanda said towards the end about about the meaning of her name "she who must be loved." All of God's good creation is worthy of love and God truly thinks "my beloved who must be loved." He so loves us that he has imparted himself into our very being. As Athanasius says, "God became man, so we could become God." God has saved us in his Son, by the incarnation, and at the very depth and inner being of every person is the "I AM" of God. So true Spirituality as Rohr says, is much more about letting go or "unlearning" then it is about learning. We simply fall into the Grace the very presence of God in our innermost depths. Blessings!

I cannot with this comment section 😂 everyone tends to gravitate towards fearing what they don’t know, and placing a judgement on something they haven’t given themselves space to explore without fear. If you know, you’ll know, it’ll resonate. If it’s over your head, and you can’t comprehend these deeper ideals, then pray and ask Jesus to expand your mind, there are many thing Jesus didn’t even write about because he had so much more to tell us, but there wouldn’t even be enough books to write to be able to contain or scribe it all. It’s limitless, Jesus is limitless, and to revelated by him, its gonna sound different than what we’ve been conditioned to believe, and he’s doing a NEW thing, and it’s springing forth, and we should be open to just observing, learning, growing, getting out of our heads and out the systems and traditions that we’ve learned, and become like children, in awe in wonder willing to ask questions, willing to expand in our curiousity. We’ve been conditioned or abused or controlled by being told to shut up. Don’t ask questions, that it’s black and white, or it’s demonic, or it’s “new age”, well it is a NEW ERA and a new age, and the former things are passing away, he’s doing NEW things, he’s sharing his heart in NEW ways, and to stay in a box of “no, it has to be like this… well that is limiting. It’s BEYOND what we can even, think dream or imagine when it comes to God. And that is OKAY! 🫶🏼

It has nothing to do with that at all. We should fight for pure biblical worship. In other words, we should not allow people who promote false teachers to be in a position of worship leader. Amanda seems very sweet, but her promotion of heretic Richard roar will lead many astray. Richard Rohr is a universalist, mystic, and newager meaning his beliefs do not align with the Bible. His Christ is one of his own making. God has no tolerance for false teachers or false teaching, or the promotion of false teachers and false teaching. We are told in Galatians 1: 8-9 that anyone that comes preaching a different gospel, even if it’s an angel will be cursed by God. We are not to except every spirit but test each spirit to see if it’s from God. Read 1 John 4:1-4 We are not to have any association with false teachers at all2 John 11:13. If Amanda is promoting someone like Richard war can she or should she be trusted to leave people into worship of God in Christ? The answer is no. Just like an atheist, muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist should not be trusted to lead people into worship of God in Christ or to write songs for the church or to preach. Worship leader Matt Redman who has been leading worship and writing songs for the church for almost 30 years says that people get their theology from the song they sing at church more than they do from the Bible meaning it is crucial that the songs churches are singing are biblical. If you are a worship leader and songwriter, but your beliefs are unorthodox and fall into Universalism mysticism and New Age territory send you should not have any influence over the church. Yes I am 100% drawing a hardline. At one point during this interview, Amanda refers to Jesus as our guy Jesus. Jesus is more Zan just a guy. He is God incarnate. He is the savior of the world the only one who could die on the cross to take away our sins. One of the many false teachings from Richard Rohr is that Jesus didn’t need to die on the cross, but it is your fault self that needs to die. He believes that Jesus in Christ are separate. None of that is biblical. It is absolute heresy. The wrong view of Christ can and will lead to false teaching and false worship.

@frankchavez9443 I watched this video on the day it was first released. Since then, I have watched it completely at least 5 times, and parts of it many more times. It has been 3 weeks since it was posted and I have thought about almost everyday. As a born again Christian, I am very alarmed by this.
So much of it is psychobabble, trying to work out psychosis with each other rather than working out their own salvation and life with fear and trembling before God and by His scripture. Rather than taking each other’s needs together before the Lord Jesus.
If you keep on moving in this direction, and the psychology of it all, then you’re not ever reaching out to God for any solution, you’re trying to fix it through anything other than him.
Amana and Rita, sadly several times you seemed to intentionally steer away from the Bible. I was very troubled when first viewing this.
Then, all of it came together at 36:00 when Amanda mentions Richard Rohr. Richard Rohr, who does not believe in the original sin of Adam and Eve. Richard Rohr, who thus does not believe Jesus was our substitutionary sacrifice on the cross because he does not believe one was needed. Richard Rohr, who does not believe that Jesus is THE Christ because he believes THE divine is in everyone AND in everything. That it is all about “christ consciousness”.
That explains why Amanda uses the same terms that Richard Rohr uses, and are also used in other religions other than Christianity, and also in New Age thinking. The entire teaching of contemplative mysticism needs to once again be exposed. For it is nothing but teaching people to keep their minds on anything but Jesus Christ and it is nothing more than the original demonic proclamation from satan that surely God did not mean what He said. It plays on ones ego by saying that it is the answer to what has been hidden from them. This is the very definition of “occult”. It is “mystical”. This is where the deconstruction fad is coming from.
Yes, is good that a Christian should often take inventory of what they believe in accordance to what the Bible actually says. But, to deconstruct and then attempt to reconstruct away from the Bible is not just dangerous, it could be eternally catastrophic.
This is dangerous for the body of Jesus Christ and the content should not celebrated.

According to Rohr's teachings, following Jesus is the "best shortcut" to salvation, but one does not necessarily have to practice formal Christianity. The key is to "fall in love with the divine presence, under whatever name." I can’t shake the feeling that this guest gets joy out of speaking in a way that sounds esoteric and lofty. Trying to be charitable here but a sense of smugness just emanates from her. I have no issue with her choice of words like energy or frequency. Different generations use different words to say the same thing. But still, a lot of this makes very little sense. Let down by this episode. Worship, His presence and “being an artist” is not as complicated and esoteric as she makes it seems with how she speaks.

Totally agree with you. She does this in other interviews too. It’s offputting and it doesn’t show she’s humble. She think she’s deep and sounds deep, but she is not. You are correct that there’s a smugness to it. Ek gives off I’m better than you because I can use all these words even though I’m not really saying anything attitude or and I’m on a much deeper level with God in Christ, then everybody else will ever be attitude. There is an interview that she does for she starts talking about the science of music. All the interviewer was wanting was the story behind a song that she sang on that was written by another worship leader and she just took over. The worship leader that wrote the song was there too. It was a short interview, so there was a limited time for everyone to talk. She completely derailed the conversation. It went from being about the song to her talking about the science of music and what all that entailed. it was actually quite rude and disrespectful as she was only a feature on the song along with Steffany Gretzinger. The Worship Leader Pat Barrett was brand new at the time so it took away from being able to get to know him as well. This would’ve been around 2018. It was offputting then and it’s offputting now. She didn’t make sense in that little interview either. Everything she said was absolute nonsense and had nothing to do with the song which talks about how it’s difficult to be honest and vulnerable with the Lord but how doing so can set us free. Father Richard Rohr is convinced that God’s justice in the Bible is fundamentally loving and restorative rather than punitive.
      "
I certainly recognize there are many biblical passages that present God as punitive and retributive, but we must stay with the text-and observe how we gradually let God grow up. Focusing on divine retribution leads to an ego-satisfying and eventually unworkable image of God which situates us inside of a very unsafe and dangerous universe"

This talk is so vulnerable, honest, and necessary. The only part that breaks my heart is that so much of the answer lies within the very thing that Charismatic, Evangelical Non-Denominational churches reject: structure and order. If we'd just deal with the plot that the Bible actually presents and abandon the scattered-rhemya-word approach that has destroyed so many, we'd be a lot better off. The kind of Christianity that causes people to deconstruct is one that only thinks of the Scriptures in chapters and verses.
Ex: One Sunday, July 7, someone will read a few verses, tell the audience the theme they think is presented in those verses, give 3 points, then have an altar call. A lot of times, no cultural or Scriptural context is given and they don't explain how those verses relate to Genesis 1 through 3-the point from which Genesis 4 - Revelation 22 stems from.
The very first time we see a man and woman in the Bible is Genesis 1:26: “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
The first identity we get of a human is an image bearer of God ("…make man in our image, after our likeness"). Before we learn about humans being kings, sons, daughters, spouses, repairmen, ambassadors, singers, Levites, emperors, friends, etc., we learn that they are image bearers of God. Before we learn humans relation to the world and society, we learn their relation to God. Every story in the Bible from Genesis 2 - Revelation 22 bears in mind "Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness."
Because of our chapters-and-verse approach, we don't understand that we are modeled after and by God himself! He's the source from which and in which we have out being (Acts 17:28). This is why the Psalmist says, "Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." Before I am anything-husband, son, father, teacher, singer, gardener, etc.-I am known by God and designed to reflect his image (his kindness, love, generosity, grace, standard of rightness, holiness, etc.). ADHD, PTSD, loveless marriages, abusive homes, drug addiction, corrupt politics, Jesusless churches, etc. could all be resolved if we'd just lean into Genesis 1:26 and allow the grace that flows from it to confront and correct our sin, failures, and flaws. As long as we neglect the reality that we exist in the world but are ONLY sustained IN God, we will forever be in a state of deconstructing and reconstructing in search of what can ONLY be found in God.
    Simple but not.

Rita - remember the Lord He is alone is God, and He alone is Holy. He shares what is His. If we are holy, it is His shared holiness imparted to us. It is nothing we have created or discovered. It’s His alone. To suggest that holiness is not reserved for the Lord alone is heretical. The angels know and recognize this. The demons know and recognize this. You may mean to say something else, be careful that you do not stumble others. 1:07:40 Scripture shows us how we are not righteous apart from God. “as it is written:
    “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands;
    no one seeks for God.
    All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;

People making the most insane comments without any regard for how much people like Amanda and Rita have had to rethink many teachings in the Church that are way more sociocultural constructions than biblical. White American Christianity is extremely hostile to women who do not fit into a certain box and that is why we are often the ones burdened with struggling to make our way out of these structures of power and control, and being called all sorts of things because we are traumatised by it, and it hurts so much to keep fanning the fire of our faith, and keep our eyes on Jesus.
At some point Amanda mentioned something about God as an obsession, and then finding the ordinary God after this is gone... This has been such a DIFFICULT process for me, of moving on from being hyperfixated on God, my faith, the Bible, and feeling so guilty for losing that. It has taken me years to understand how this was different from "abandoning first love". And it's refreshing to hear that.
The two of you inspire me SO MUCH and, particularly these days, I had been thinking about the two of you so much, and I really felt like this podcast was for me (I love to entertain those little delusions). Wow. I'm about 70% of the way through this. I'm really not sensing a lot of awe, love, or reverence for God Almighty. At around the 45 minute mark, she refers to Him as "our guy, Jesus." I recoiled inwardly. This is way, way too casual for any believer, let alone a well-known worship leader. I think she worships herself, her "journey," and that *music* is her god. She doesn't sound like she's got healthy, mature believers around her, helping to keep her (or get her back) on the right path. The saddest part is the defense of her. There’s not one part of this interview that brings God glory. And her defenders are saying you just don’t understand ADHD or you’re not meant to understand what she’s saying. First of all, no one would have an issue with understanding her if she wasn’t just somebody talking and absolute word salads and if her beliefs aligned with scripture I was quoting from the Bible rather than a well-known heretic and second, no one should have to except her belief system, which is clearly not in alignment with scripture or biblical Christianity. And as far as blame it on her ADHd, ADHD is no excuse for promoting a heretic it’s also not an excuse for a lack of reverence for God in Christ. She’s a well-known worship leader who should know better. God is it going to give her a pass because of her ADHD. As she was like this back in 2018. She was featured on the song by another Worship Leader and when asked to give her thoughts on the theme and message of this song, she completely steamrolled the conversation. The conversation went from being about being honest with the Lord and the freedom. There is in being honest with the Lord, as well as vulnerable to being about the science of music. This story behind the song segment was a small two or three minutes portion of a larger video. Another Worship Leader Steffany Gretzinger was featured on the song as well, and the only two people who were actually on topic were the writer and singer of the song Pat Barrett and Steffany Gretzinger. Amanda was completely off-topic. I honestly found it quite rude. Pat Barrett has never invited her to be a part of a song again while he still continues to work with Steffany Gretzinger. One last thing she comes off is very smug. There’s a smugness to the way she speaks because she chooses to talk in a way that gives off the impression that she’s at a level with God that no one else can achieve. Tax humility. Most of her solo music is about herself as well.

I resonated a lot with what she said and some I didn’t. There is a reason for that. I am not on her journey. It is not my walk. My walk with Lord led me also to a contemplative heart and prayer. There is a saying that says “ Take what you need and leave the rest”. When some one is expressing their journey it is not always going to hit home and check all boxes that we think should be checked. Let her iron sharpens iron people walk with her.. What others have called new age is actually some old ways coming to light but we call it new age because new agers have taken some of our former practices and made it their own. Contemplative mediation is one of them. We can meditate with the Lord and on scripture and stop and listen. We as humans can learn from each other, good bad or indifferent. Be kind.
