I have this set Debbie, and am afraid to try it...I think I bought quite a few other colours as well...I am worried about the water with acrylic in it, and cannot throw down the drain here...just a gray water pit and an outhouse...and very too narrow pipes...so...not sure what you do with dirty brush water from acrylic paint??? Do you have any suggestions Debbie? I have not used acrylic paints at all...just H2O...I like the suggestion about a stay wet palette...I think I even bought one of those which is under the bed...Daler Rowney one from Jackson's...with a place to keep water and your brushes...so they do not harden while you paint...thought that was cool. I loved this video of yours Debbie, and can't wait to see your painting you make with them....Do you find the vermillion to be enough of a warm red...I think I need to buy a warm red/medium red...bought too many cool reds/pinks but forgot the warm red....janis
You can use a pail and let the water separate from the paint - it will create a sediment on the bottom over time. There are quite a lot of methods. Here is a blog post and a video I found. I hope this helps and you can finally try your paints out. It’s a great set! www.rosemarieoleary.com/art-blog/44-don-t-pour-acrylic-paint-down-the-drain www.davidmkessler.com/blog/2020/2/26/how-to-dispose-of-acrylic-paint-water
I've never tried acrylic gouache, those colours are so beautiful it's making me want them haha
Holbein makes beautiful paints! I understand the temptation. 😁
I don't expect to mix a lot with a curated set like this but the colors you got are actually pretty I espacially love the muted purples 😍
Thanks, I agree. Most sets leave a lot to be desired. I thought this one was balanced enough to try it. Thanks for watching!
Using a sta-wet palette (either bought or DIY-ed) keeps the acrylic gouache juicy for a long, long time. :]
Oooh, I'll look into that. Thank you for the recommendation!
