It's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to do anything but root for this band. Excellent musicians, wonderful compositions and, most importantly, seemingly beautiful people.
Saw a recent show here in Phoenix, AZ, and they were genuine and kind chatting with fans, myself included, after the show. First saw them on KEXP and thrilled to have seen them twice live.
@@smullaney84 brain dead comment. Nothing wrong with backing tracks or dancers. Autotune dude get over yourself artists use autotune so they can record vocals easier or get them to sound just how they want what's the issue with that? And guitars + drums yeah awesome for sure but other instruments exist and so do great songs that don't feature either.
Definitely one of my current favorite drummers. A few weeks ago I was walking down the street towards the venue they were playing that night and Tristan was walking just in front of me towards their bus. I'm 53 and on the outside was cool and calm, but inside, I was like a giddy 13 year old girl.
I found this band last June, I have listened to them every day since, I'm 45 this year, 1993 was the last time I was this excited by music, and the Beths are the forerunners for me. Any of their songs would stand out on a mix tape of pixies, buffalo tom, juliana hatfield, Husker Du, Seam, Pumpkins, Breeders, Sonic Youth, Lemonheads, drugstore, neutral milk hotel, iron and wine and so on and so forth. They made me love music again, NEW MUSIC!!!
Ha! Also discovered them last June and I'm also 45 years old. I just wrote a comment on the gram saying if this was released in 1994 they'd have been on top of the frigging world. \m/
@@lochinver1929 the songs are brilliant, but the production (also them) just has THAT sound, like the wrecking crew are actually playing it, in the old days. The sound is addictive!
I saw them in Vancouver in July for my birthday lasy year and was so blown away by the live experience!! I still think about how good that concert was.
Silence is Golden’s guitar solo is the closest someone’s gone to sounding like Jonny Greenwood on Paranoid Android since, idk, MAYBE Banquet by Bloc Party? Great guitar work.
I'm from the uk and came here because I'm a big Beths fan. I hadn't come across Cherly Walters before but she seems like a good egg and I can see she takes a genuilne interest in the bands she as on here radio station. She also asks really good questions and gives the band space to talk.
Love these dudes. Great indie pop rock songs that actually made me care about indie pop rock songs again. Jonathan is the secret weapon. Love his playing and hectic solos.
I just love The Beths, they're the band I tell anyone about when they ask what I'm listening to lately, they're the show I don't hesitate a second to buy a bunch of tickets to because I know I'll want to bring a bunch of friends, they're great and fun and their banter is even improving!
Uhm the silence is golden gave new life and meaning to music. It’s like it renewed my belief in new possibilities for sound and the feeling it produces. Very cool thanks yall
you might like a band called the doublejumps if you the beths. they are my two favourite bands and BOTH are from new zealand!!! i've just got to spread the word about these bands!! ❤
I don't think there's a band out there better than them right now. The songcraft is something special. And here's the proof that they sound brilliant live.

Seeing the performance from 4 years ago and then this now, I am amazed at the improvement, especially the improvement in confidence. The transformation from awkwardly nervous to confident is so great to see. But the main thing about this band is that their music has and always will be amazing ❤
YES!!! I have been telling everyone about that as well; this is the first time I've seen anyone else comment. Going to that unexpected minor chord over the word "dying" is, dare I say it...Beatles level genius.
Amazingly constructed 👍 The Guitar Riff Touches ur Soul. They know their instruments very well. And Kudos to the Sound Engineers of Kexp, They always Rock. They must have had a Hell lot of Fun with The Beths in the Studio. They Sound so so Amazing Especially the Guitars OMG😱 n listening on my Sennheiser HD 650s feels like I'm on Nirvana.
I'd like to draw the attention at the headstock of the bass. It has the most beautiful shape of all headstocks I have ever seen. I guess this is an 80s Ibanez. I have an 80s Cimar bass which has the same shape. (Whatever the relationship was between Ibanez and this mysterious brand of Cimar...) This is peak headstock design!

This is one of those bands where if you like this genre of music at all, it's impossible to dislike them.
Or if you just like music!

The Beths! Such great constructed songs. They sound great live too.
I can't believe how electric their sound is! I found them from their recent NPR concert. HOLY SMOKES, didn't realize they shredded too! WOO!

The Beths + KEXP + Cheryl Waters ❤❤❤ Damn, Jonathan's guitar tone here is spot on!

Great guitar work.
The Beths need to be way, way more popular! people are sleeping on such a great band!
Man this band writes killer songs and all of them are such intelligent players, always providing the perfect parts for each other to play off of.

First time seeing them. Singer is lowkey shredding all the time, it rules.
Once I saw them in Berlin when they were fairly new, they were so cute and shy, it's great to see these lovely indie bands live
