Try cleaning your Ninja top heating element and dome first and do another review after. 😂 T-fal ActiFry is much lower maintenance while does a great job for years. The simpler the unit the more reliable it is.
We have many miles put on our 7 years old actifry, manly for french fries. I did purchase the upper screen basket for warming up some smaller foods which does A good job because the machine continuously rotates the food even when the paddle is not required.

That's right! I've been looking at this new model and was hoping it would change the way the top and bottom pans work. In this model as well as in the previous one, one very bad thing remained. When the upper shelf starts baking, the lower one stops. This is not the principle they promote, which is that you can cook two foods at the same time. If the potatoes are baked underneath and the steak starts to cook on the top plate, the potatoes cool down while the meat is still cooking on the top plate. It's a pity that they didn't change that shortcoming in the new model. I would buy a new model just for that! They could even leave it up to the user to choose, if he is baking two dishes, whether and when he wants the lower pan to stop cooking. That would be it! Tefal obviously doesn't listen to what users advise them to change!
Warning to anyone who is thinking of buying this: it blows crumbs and flour all over your kitchen! The paddle dislodges dried crumbs from your food which get spun around by the hot air hurricane like lottery balls, and escape the cooker from all sides because the darn lid is not sealed - it's designed to allow air to flow out in all directions!
I have one but would never recommend it or buy another the same. I would mark it very poor. I can't argue as to how it cooks good, which it does really well. The main design flaw is when using both trays, they don't cook at the same time, you have to wait until the main section has finished before it will cook the top section. Worst of all, if you make a mistake in your cooking time or temp setting, there is no reset. You have to switch off, open the lid, and wait until it resets itself, which takes about 10 minutes. Make another mistake, and you have to wait another 10 minutes.

it cooks better chips when they are fresh potato chips not frozen they are crispy on the outside and soft and mushy on the inside with a sweet taste
