    This just took Jay Sankey’s Paperclipped to a whole other level. Beautiful and Totally organic like you said The spectator’s will never expect it.❤️ it.

    • @teemumantynen1038
      @teemumantynen1038 2 роки тому +2

      Paperclipped seems like a much better thing than this. its basically gimmickless, the switch does not require any props that make the spectator think why are they there. Like the card is folded and paperclipped. The paperclip as a prop serves because it is holding the card closed. Also with paperclipped the card is in view the whole time. And you just very cleanly take the clip away and thats it. There is no need to go into the pockets and take out credit cards and all of that.

    • @allthatsmagic06
      @allthatsmagic06 2 роки тому +2

      @@teemumantynen1038 true but who really walks around with paper clips on them? A drivers license and a credit care is more believable because they are the two things people have with them the most on a daily basis.

    • @teemumantynen1038
      @teemumantynen1038 2 роки тому

      @@allthatsmagic06 I think the props need to be understood in the context of a trick. Who walks around with a deck of cards, for instance? The magician does that because the deck is needed for the tricks he wants to show, so the item is justified even though most people dont walk around with a deck. Similarly the paper clip makes sense in the context of the trick that uses it, it has a purpose of keeping the folded card folded up and "secured", so its no more strange than the deck of cards. It makes perfect sense to have a paperclip in this context.

    Love the gimmick idea and I believe (because I haven't actually tried it yet but I will) that you can actually use a normal playing card instead of a bank card, just gotta smack some card board or maybe even a popsicle stick to the back.

      It’s a strange one for me. My town is entirely contactless. So I pay for everything with Apple Pay. I really would be carrying a wallet just for the sake of it. But I now that other places around the world aren’t contactless yet, so totally get it.

    • @coreyharrismagic
      @coreyharrismagic 2 роки тому

      @@LloydB Contactless has gotten more prominent here in the states. I use Google Pay pretty much everywhere I can. Some stores like Walmart though wont accept contactless because they are trying to push their own form of mobile pay which is a hassle. I think another issue we have here is just crappy mobile coverage, and if your phone battery is dead. I will probably always carry some kind of wallet though. I don't load all of my cards into my mobile wallet, just my primary and one "Fun" card. Most the time I forget to switch too when I need to use it. Plus I carry my health insurance cards because most places wont accept a digital copy of those around here.

      Just a tip, it's really simple to get 'reward cards' etc from local supermarkets or coffee shops.
      If you really want to add a genuine card with your name properly printed on the card, just report a credit/debit card (ideally one you can go a few days without) as lost and then you can use it. To be honest though, the main cover card would be the most convincing one and as you don't need to make any changes to it, it can actually be your normal card... Which is a legit EDC.
      To be honest though, you can easily make the 2 slits into a card you are using and not affect the usage 👌🏼

    • @DJLFB
      @DJLFB 2 роки тому +1

      @@marcusjay8103 You're completely correct. A used up gift card would also work. I know I have old cafe/coffee shop bonus cards and even my electronic train ticket from the last city I lived in. But no need to cancel credit cards just for this trick. 😅

    • @marcusjay8103
      @marcusjay8103 2 роки тому +1

      @@DJLFB 😂 I did point out only 'if you REALLY want it'... Should have probably put 'If you really NEED to'.
      Thinking about it, you can go into most supermarkets etc and get the free gift cards you are meant to take to the counter and put money on. There are literally 90-100+ different company cards, Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks etc etc... That would also be a good choice if you didn't want to use a personal card for privacy.
      Personally I think a personal card would work so much better as the cover card to add some legitimacy but I get everyone is different when it comes to privacy etc.
      Have a good night/day buddy 👌🏼

    • @DJLFB
      @DJLFB 2 роки тому

      @@marcusjay8103 There are also pre-paid credit cards that you can just use up the balance on. They look pretty much just like the real thing. The cover is definitely the most important here. But maybe it would behoove one to have a sort of duplicate, where it's just the cards, without the cuts. People seem always want to see what you used... I know someone will ask if they can see it, and I'd then be able to go back into my pocket and pull out the authentic cards without cuts. Just a thought...
