I work at a resort in Gatlinburg, TN and back in the fact ( Mid-90's)

"Hearing the Sound" of the trick in slow-mo, I figured the Jack must have been cut in half and using the Elastic Thread that you use in every card Gimmick. Keep up the good work!

Amazing, and visual, which is really what people want from magic; they think seeing is believing, and believing their eyes seems to serve as a convincer of the magician's word.. "Look at it melt through!" Their eyes allow their brains to see what they secretly want to see anyway. Cool illusion!
You know it's a great magic trick when it's better in slow motion, and you need to state, "No CGI."

Great idea. I think the gimmick could be even better if we put a thin stripe of double face adhesive tape on top and bottom of the cards, so that we could prevent the two parts from not going back to the correct position.

Bad trick idea: You ask a viewer to watch a particular part of the setup. You expect them to be experienced, so they'd watch everything else. But this time, by following your instructions, they would be more likely to crack it

It's all sticky back plastic and bits of string
You are an amazing and talented craftsman
It looks good in the video shot from the perfect angle, But how would that work with a live close up audience
You would see the gimmick
You need perfect lighting and camera angle or you wouldn't fool anyone
Looks great in the video
But a close up performance would require a low lighting set up and very careful handling to prevent them seeing that cut and I'm worried about it closing properly
Are you putting slight pressure on the gimmicked card to help it close properly, or does that make it worse ?
