Picked up the DZ4 a few weeks ago, and I totally agree with you about the bass. The graph doesn't really tell the whole story. Not sure about the treble, but the bass was definitely lacking and there are surely other budget sets out there that can perform better than the DZ4 in the bass. The midrange was very clean sounding though, can't fault it there. Anyways, do you have any plans to review the Thieaudio Hype 2? Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Hi there! Really enjoying the in depth reviews. I've been wondering what do you mean by the 'technical performance' of an IEM? I've been trying to find an answer online but no one seems to have a concise description. Thanks
Basically means "everything about the sound than isn't frequency response." Separation between sides, positional imaging, incisiveness, tactility of the sound, texturing, detail perception.
I listen to metal and some hard rock and many songs are not mastered very well and trying to find an IEM. I like a "fun" sound and its mostly late 80s to early 2000s stuff very mid focused electric guitars. I like bright sounding headphones just not too bright like Grados those give me a headache. I like the Sundaras and AKG K712 Pro. I don't know if the S12 or Aria or or Hexa or what =(
Letshuoer S12iems with fc4 type e tips are fantastic i am a massive metal head listen to it all including jazz and hard rock there are airy and dynamic detailed like a slittly briter timeless the only thing that i can nit pick its the low sub-bass it a little lacking and sometimes depending on your ears eq in the 8k-10 a few bd helps with some song that can be a tad spiky but for me it Bearley noticeable they eq super well so no need to fear s12 is here and for the price its unbeatable at the moment enjoy
I’d give it a solid three stars and one passive star
How'd I miss that opportunity? 👏
You deserve a trophy mister.

I wish Super Review would review the Hype 2 as well, I'm quite interested in knowing how it performs since it's one of my options for my endgame IEM.
Yep, just got a Hype 2 in for review last week, review will be up soon.
@@mayonotes9849 I'm really enjoying it. Very good bass. Metal sounds great on them.
ThieAudio just went F it with their naming, didn't they?
@MRS thanks for the review. Really appreciate it.
Hi, Mark. Looking forward to ThieAudio Hype 2 review, Mark.
I feel like the folks at the Office (Tv show) would love this IEM. Could sell a lot of paper.
Dwight hates it.
Good for bassheads? And genres like edm, big room house, dubstep?
hey Mark could you make a *top 10* of your favorite IEM's
Yesss
or a favorite from each price bracket: under $50, under $100, under $350, under $500, under $1k, over $1k

Have you heard the simgot ew200? Very close to the tinhifi mech c2 with less slightly less treble.
I have not.
How would you compare it to the Hexa? If you can share your words it would be a great help for me.
I prefer the Hexa by quite a bit -- Hexa is a bit warmer, and less dry sounding.

is this finish on the inside facing part less gloss/more like a matte finish? Looks like it's slightly sandpapery
Yes, it's a matte gray.
How does it compare to the EA500 and Melody?
Yeah which one has more bass??

So... what's the purpose of the passive driver?
Passive radiators on speakers are a way to improve the bass response in a small enclosure.
It contributes to the frequency response. HBB graphed it with the passive radiator removed: hbb.squig.link/?share=IEF_Comp_Target,Lets_DZ4,Rascal
