Dani I really appreciate the fact you left your struggles for us to see. So many times we are only given perceptions of perfection which isn't real life. I love watching your channel. It inspires. I loved all the twinkle lighting you did. And the minimal tree.
I so enjoyed this video ….actually laughed so hard I snorted over the Charlie Brown tree light cut, the ornament falling and the garland sliding slowly down the stairwell. Truly a reality decorating session! Thanks for the giggle
Fun fact, I believe the candle stick holder you picked up before hand is one that would be used on boats. It tips back and forth so it can move with the swells👍
I had a “Charlie Brown” tree when I was stationed in Japan. My middle brother was also stationed there at the time. I smuggled him into my room (no men allowed) and we sat up all night talking by the lights from that “Charlie Brown” tree. It’s still one of my favorite Christmas memories.
My dad was meticulous at winding the lights around a piece of cardboard. But the thing I remembered was when they came out of the box they were a tangled mess. One of my fondest memories is of dad and I sitting in the middle of hundreds of lights, untangling and testing each light individually (.yes, I’m feeling old) if a strand didn’t work. It wasn’t until years after my dad died that I realised he must have purposely tangled the lights so that we spent time untangling them together. I remember sobbing when I realised that I’d been conned and the reason behind it. I miss my dad so much.
Danie, everything looks so magical! You truly stayed true to your mood board! I love every detail, but that butler candle stick is everything! I have thrifted, collected over the years, received as gifts and purchased my Christmas decorations. But this year I redid how I always did my decorations and just reused, repurposed everything I used to use. And I’m so glad I did, for the first time in a long time, I feel my room is magical. I added a lot of fairy lights to almost every space I could! Thank you for sharing your absolutely beautiful, magical Christmas decorations!
By popular demand - the batman sweater I am wearing is from a brand called Merchoid. I don't think they sell the one I am wearing anymore BUT they have tons of new options in the same style!! GO NOW! www.merchoid.com/ ALSO - The tree lights I used are from Home Hardware.- www.homehardware.ca/en/1000-led-warm-white-8-function-rice-light-set/p/5645872
I have a great aunt who does not like to light and decorate her tree every year. She used wire to tie her ornaments to her "fake" tree. She uses a timer for the lights. When the season is over, she sets the tree in a huge leaf trash bag, pulls another one over the top, then tapes the middle together. The whole thing goes stored in her garage, lol. I have another friend who keeps the light strands on each tree section. Unplugs each section before taking it apart, then stores the lighted sections.
That burlap deer Winston looks like a mummy. It reminds me of finding really cool dryrotted old toys in my grandmother's attic. I'm not trying to be mean. It is a really cool country/vintage aesthetic that works with your dark moody scheme. We go more kitchy, traditional Wal-Marty Christmas in my house, but we have a foam skull that somehow missed the Halloween bin in October and stuck around at Christmas the first year in our new house. He has a Santa hat now and gets mounted on the banister end each Christmas. His name is Morbid Marley.
Yes! That reminded me of a super quirky museum I came across in Nebraska in the states. There is a Pulley museum in Crofton, NE. Its in an old building also used as a reception and event space.
When you pause to screenshot over and over again. Then you know its beyond good. It looks MAGICAL! So personal, special and super cozy. I absolutely love your home, Danie. Happy Holidays from Sweden! 🌲 🇸🇪 🎄 🇺🇸 🌲
Love the classic colour scheme. So elegant. The peanuts tree is my favourite decoration and the crocodile nutcracker is my fave thrift find. Great video. Thank you!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the edits! The DIY DANIE that was perfectly combined with the Christmas music, the sassy little comments on the "minimal Christmas tree", yesss
My cat is named Batman and of I have a shirt and pants 😼 Love the Xmas decorations so cozy. I need the dog candle and loved the black and gold. Your awesome 🌈☃️
Everything is really beautiful and if anyone that comes to your home is not in the Christmas spirit, after walking in that beautiful kitchen and living room they will be. It's a special room. There is a feel to the rooms, like from 100 yrs ago feeling. Sorry, can't explain what I'm trying to describe. Now, my favorite part is the little Christmas tree. Plus the part where you cut the lights, lol. The tree makes me feel like when I was a child all excited on Christmas Eve waiting to open my presents. Plus watching cartoons on Christmas day. Love every part of this video Danie, you have amazing talent to create anything your mind can think of. ❤❤❤
Danie, everything was wonderful! You are so incredibly awesome. Such an inspiration for DIY and decor. Your home looks so happy and filled with joy. Hope you have a beautiful holiday!

I have those Ikea lanterns and have wanted to paint them. Had no idea the glass part can be taken out. I will go for antique gold. The two deer on your "mantle" - really like them!

I'm obsessed with your home and your content! I feel like your aesthetic is so different from other diyers on here and I'm grateful for the inspo! My partner and I are Canadian millennials who bought our first home last year and we've been so stuck on how to make our house our own home (on this day actually! It's our housaversary!) and your style suits our vibe so much. Thank you for being you!
What great thrifted finds! the butler dog candle holder is probably my favorite. Winston makes a statement from across the room-- the lights do make it magical!
Hooray! Winston is back! 😻😻 😻It‘s so good to see he hasn’t changed! 😂😂😂 Everything turned out beautiful,as always, and matches wonderfully with the items from last year! I still love the houses! So beautiful! 😻😻
I've always thought it would look pretty to spray paint pine cones metallic to match whatever (gold, silver, bronze) for the tree as decorations. And my trees always have holly berries and cardinals...
Oh, I just love the peanut christmas tree!! I have a smaller space and wanted to do a small tree and that's such a great idea. My colours this year are black and gold with wood and a greenery accents so the moody decor totally melted my heart. Gorgeous! 🖤
I’m happy to see Winston made his appearance again this year!!Your home looks like a postcard. I love the dining area and the table scape, is gorgeous. TFS 🎄
My favourite parts were all the little accidents along the way; cut the lights, dropped garland a few times trying to adjust. Made me chuckle because it reminded me of all my misadventures decorating for Christmas 🎅. None the less, everything looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing your home and have a wonderful Christmas.🌲❤️
I love watching you on datirday mornings. No matter what you are doing it's done with passion, enthusiasm, and most of all humor--because there are always bumps along the way to everybody's projects. Happy Holudays!!

I absolutely adore the vintage christmas decor you went for, looks amazing. Here's hoping that someday you share a short video on your hair routine because damn gorl, it is looking so lush and beautiful and bright every video.
This is hands down the best christmas decor/set up ive seen yet. You always find the BEST thrifted items! I don’t know how you do it. And you’re right, going $30 over budget was worth it.
I love everything!! I'm a dedicated thrifter! 75% of my decorations I have used year after year, have been thrifted. When something goes totally out of style, tear it apart and use it just as you did. Love your eye for "the peace and joy" of it all!! Thanks for sharing!
As Always; Your Halorious if that'd happened to Me I'd Gone Back to Bed or Sat Down watched TV and did it tomorrow Instead... But, You Go Girl...You Rock... You fixed it & Made Your House Awesome !!!! Merry Xmas, Dania Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ To You & Yours Great Video Share
Oh my God,your kitchen looks like a painting!I wish I could come down to make my morning coffee to this dreamy setting..!(AND having real snow out the window? Come on!) Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!😍😍😍
I love the set! It’s motivating to see you install all this, almost easily ! Impressed by the lantern painted black with the golden touch. I also like the living room to be less crowded.
I love how your house turned out. Festive but not too much. I do think that Winston deserves some holiday bling. At least a plaid scarf and maybe some antler jewelry. The shelf behind your table came out perfect. It is beautiful and my favorite.
What a lovely video! I loved all of your thrifted treasures, especially the alligator nutcracker - how fun! Your home is moody holiday perfection. Thank you for sharing 🐊🎄

Yes I agree. Also pleased that not everything goes right the first time but Danie is not afraid to show that.
Fun fact, I believe the candle stick holder you picked up before hand is one that would be used on boats. It tips back and forth so it can move with the swells👍
