Love the old Will Hay movies, especially the ones with Moore and Moffatt..
They never got on in real life
yes thats true the real reason that Hay wanted to break away from Moffatt and Marriott was that he feared audiences were growing to love them more.👍
@@elwynrahaman3565 Indeed the granddad was a better actor..a younger man playing a much older person.i can see his abilities in the movies
Yes will hay films are so good Will,😊Moore and Graham were superb.
I watch these all time.
So much rubbish on tv these days thank you guys for great films 😊
Lovely..old..films
Absolutely love Will Hay, he has a great warmth to his humour
Absolutely! Timeless comedy before ww2. Will still be relevant to future generations.
Eight bells and your watch..ha ha...love it...
Love Will Hay films.
Me too.
Brilliant stuff , 1957 lad here 😂😉✅ cheers Tom 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🏴🇬🇧
Lots of fun. By the way, that sextant the good captain is holding at 6:50 is a very rare double frame sextant made in the UK between 1870/1880 and worth a pretty penny today. They were the most expensive sextants of the period.
@@Morrisfactor I imagine it was used in countless films too. The studios tended to reuse a lot of props and sets
For any one interested the opening sequences of the Square Rigger i think are from Capt John Irving's film of the 4 masted barque 'Peking' rounding Cape Horn the 'wrong way' - East to West in truly terrible weather. This film of the Peking is truly amazing, its a miracle that any one on deck survived at all, this film which is only about 20 mins long is a real slice of history and is well worth a look.
The sailing ship Pekin was originally built for the famous 'Flying P Line' of Hamburg, and was until a few years ago in the South Street Seaport Museum in New York which is where I visited her, she was sold to the Hamburg Port Museum, where she is being completely refitted.
If you ever have the oportunity to visit her do not miss out.
I remember watching these movies as a kid, they were special then and today, just fantastic
He taught me how to do maths 😂
This was one of my favourite Will Hay films after Oh Mr Porter! and Convict 99. Still a very funny film and holds up almost 90 years later.
90 years on and Chelsea are still the punchline 😊😊
And the ,, mighty Blackpool got a 3-1 win ! , c,mon u Seasiders 🍊🍊🍊🍊! 😂😂😂
Superb. I laugh so much at these . Different world ❤ 🇬🇧
Fabulous . Will bless his socks ! Ta D
First watched these films on BBC 2 back when I was 12/13 years old during the 80s
I thought this was funny, it is a comedy of it's era, but the idiocy and plot make it timeless. Will Hay. My Mum would have remembered him.
Best films, Will Hey , what a great man to make us laugh. All his films are brilliant !!!
I've seen a few Will Hay movies and being as daft as they are makes them even more enjoyable.
Can't beat a God will hay film
Funny old movie, great entertainment! "Cap'n" Windbag reminds me of a guy I work with .. lol ..
Thanks for this funny as 😂
Great stuff..
We watched stuff like this because thats all there was
Poor Windbag- stolen valor catches up with a liar!
Walter Mitty the Sailor.
@@yan24to Apropos! It ain't just anybody who can reference Thurber!
A clever man off screen
Classic tv 📺
Will Hay is one of the comedic geniuses, on par with Groucho. Yet he is not appreciated accordingly
Bloody good English comedy at its best even if it’s only in black and white
@annstenson324 some of the best things are in black and white :)
It would suck with "colorized"! Enjoy it as our predecessors did!
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Well known expression. A classic film should never be messed around with. Your eyes can see black and white perfectly.
Did I hear a reference to Clapton Orient in the football scores ?
They don't show many old films anymore, Saturdays they put musicals on bb2 in the used to love to watch them we at grans, even on Sundays they put films on, nowadays it the same rubbish that's on the week or repeats, it's like we are a lost generation who they don't care about😢
Any idea where I could watch the goose steps out and the ghost of st Michaels please?
Michael Johnson 5370 the complete collection of dvd collection of will hay can be bought from Amazon and hmv store as for TV the Freeview channel talking pictures TV sometimes shows them I hope this information helps 😊

its a good movie for 8 year old boys.
Is that what you show them ? Different to puppies I suppose
He is the spite and image of his grandson Bradley Walsh! On the TV game the chase!
Not his Grandson, but a lot of people have pointed out the resemblance. He could play him in a docudrama...
@@BuggleskellyStation I know that! Only joking! And a good prompt, he could take him off to in any play or short film, on Will Hays life story! Bradley is vary skill full actor, and it would masterful peace.
Absolute genius😂😂😂😂👍👍🧐
27:20. That stuntman earned his pay!!🫣
I thought the same thing. Looked quite dangerous in fact if those were real timbers. Different breed of people back then, far tougher than today.
