15 of us watching old Will and his pals antics. Absolute gems
"Let's start from the beginning and get it right. Now, in 1897 you had a bath ..."
I could watch these cozy funny films all day again and again. How many films today could you say the same. Brilliant. Will Hay was the best and most inspiring comic of all, many copied. Thank you for sharing. Laughed all the way through.
I like the ones with ghosts! LOL
@@drwhatson Me too. Where's that fire. Thanks.
HA - I am sure I have watched this and his other movies 100 times or more, and I still have a chuckle as I watch/listen to them - HA - CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
Thanks for the upload, loved these as a kid in the school holidays. The amazing Will resides in my family cemetery in Streatham Vale, I always used to marvel at it when we were sending off various relatives as a child, wafting by in a DS420 ;-).
A comedy trio is so rare. They are so good together the three of them.
Not far from a hundred years old and still comedy movie magic..
Will Hay.....A Comedy Legend......Thanks for posting these Gems ;)
This is actual comedy. No politics, prejudice, or anything today's films are riddled with. Thanks to you Tom for giving us these wonderful movies from perhaps a flawed time, but a better time :)
Couldn’t have put it better, and while I’m here…
plus it was all white cast , great old days , no need for diversity
My dad thought Will Hay was great. So do I. I'm his daughter. We laughed and laughed. Great stuff. Thanks again. 😅
This is so funny, Will H. has the ability to (don't know how) keep a straight face, and also, to seem oblivious to what's going on, & the absolute humour of the situations, really don't know how he does it, xx Love it.
The first scene with him and the two boys was hilarious.... "guess what I've got... the sack!" And a very young Roddy McDowell, who was a natural talent even at that age! Thank you for uploading these, they are a real joy!
45:00 "If you commence before you start, where do you begin?" That's why I love Will Hay.
Old comedy's are great, very funny.laughs all the way through.
"We have a thief in our midst". Great stuff!!
"The lease runs out in 1945" and no one knew what would happen in the interim. I love these movies.
right? That's kinda on point with war.
How I loved these 1930s films as a kid (on television I mean. I'm not quite that old!) - Old Mother Riley and George Formby too. If I remember correctly, they were shown every Sunday in the 1960s.
*I grew up (if that's the word!) to have a fascination/obsession with the 1930s and now have a great collection of Art Deco pottery and various 1930s artifacts.
excellent movie..very well done...loved it!
Ya wasting ya time ! 🤣😆🇬🇧👍 Got their box set. Love them all. Legends
I just love these old Will Hay movies! Every one of them is a true classic and I'm so thankful that I ran across them. Having Graham Moffatt and Googie Withers as his partners in each one was really a genius idea back then, what a great combination of comedy talent! lol I also love the one-liners that are thrown about the movies, a person has to pay attention .. everything about these old movies is just funny .. great entertainment .. thank you for sharing these and giving us a reason to laugh again! :^)
.. Oops, I should have proof-read before hitting the button! I meant to include Moore Marriott in the trio, rather than Googie, but no matter .. funny, funny movies! Thanks again!! :^)
How has this only got 3000 views
Watching a bit late but really enjoying it.
Are there any people from the 90s who love watching will hay. Feel like am the only one from my generation.
@MrLacking I'm from 1988 if that's close enough? We've got 9500+ in the society and plenty our age too
Hilarious. Will Hay was wonderful. So sad the British film industry was eliminated.
im sure i seen this before but its been so long its like looking at it for the first time again ,thanks
This should be shown in schools as part of film history
No chance, it would upset the little wokes, probably to much violence in it, it would get a trigger warning before being shown.
Everything's So pathetic today, they can't be real about anything
Thank you 😊
Good fun.
The Goose steps out needs to be uploaded. Brilliant film.
Studio Canal own it so it can't be uploaded without being taken down by UA-cam.
@@BuggleskellyStation isn't it out of copyright by now?
Love love Will Hay.A great comedy actor. Used to rush home when I found out he was on TV. Haha Laughing already. Thanks for posting. What a genius. The three of them together. Haha 😂😊
Remember the Ghost Train. That was brilliant too. The windmill scene was a classic. You really believed in them. Just the best. 😂😊
Hey Hey USA. So funny. Another classic example of his genius
I've got a few of his films. Wouldn't part with them. Will Hay. Just the best of the best. 🎉😅
Never seen this film before. What a treat. 😊😻
Interesting early screen appearance of Roddy MacDowall as Jimmy.
Promise I didn't check, I know I just saw Roddy McDowell, one of the little boys. no wonder he and Liz Taylor got on so well, they were both in the biz since children until their departures, what a life!
£2 a week for a headmaster, they don't know they're born today.
The (sort of) remake may have had Peter Sellers and Lionel Jeffries, but it certainly didn't have Dr. Benjamin Twist, Albert, and the legend that is Jerry the Mole. "If you commenced before you started, then where did you begin?" "THE BATHROOM!"
I started working in1957 as an apprentice metal mechanic £2 for 45 hours 😢
..." so you had a bath in 1897 "... !!
It. Is good to watch a will hay film in black and white
they was great
40:11 that right there is a genuine ‘ello guvnah.
Classic lol
Can you upload the black sheep of Whitehall please Tom
Take a recht
~45:04: " . . . if you com-
mence before you start,
where do you begin?"
`
Roddy McDowell.......I think.
Googie Withers...Within these Walls part 1.
Not sure when it was made 2023 I think?😂
No LGBGT tosh, no race tosh
Just good old fashioned British comedy
Thank the Lord
No LGBGT tosh eh... 5:35 what do you call that then? 🤔
@@countiblis1246 you’ll have to enlighten me
Holding hands in a comedy film?
Are you being a silly boy?
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
