My husband is from Osaka and when he was a middle school student he was student council President. He told me about this student who was like the leader of the delinquents at his school and literally everyone was afraid of this kid but my husband became friends with him. So my husband was even respected by the delinquents of the school because their leader was good friends with my husband 😂
I'm curious... are PE teachers at your countries scary? Because in mine they're usually big belly guys in suit pants, sneakers and polo shirts, not even a tiny bit scary 😂
My PE teacher was scary. Was stone faced most of the times, not afraid to talk to ya harshly, hates when kids are late and absent, Isn't afraid at ALL to give an F, but at least he was good looking and fit too, and he's nice when you take PE seriously

If I were to guess why this kind of hairsyle is popular in general, I would say it's probably because it shows your forehead and also your whole face more. Which probably reads as being more open and direct, which can be thought of as also being more courageous in a way? I think there might be this kind of psychology behind it. And also it can kind of seem like you were running and that's why your hair is pushed back, so it seems you're a more dynamic and fast person, not stationary. Kind of an adventurous spirit maybe.

i do think that it's just a sign that times are changing. everywhere it's the same really, things aren't really like the way they used to be. in america, the school environment 10 years ago is completely different from the school environment it is now. sure some places have it bad, but at least for the majority of places, things are better and there wasn't all the issues from decades ago. things like illegal drug usage are teen pregnancy decreasing year by year, what may have been the norm even 10 years ago seems cartoonish to us now that things have changed.
Just shared this with all my TokRev friends. I'm gonna need more stories, these are fascinating. Also, I've been trying to find a good source looking into the delinquent cultural background

I’m at the stage of Japanese proficiency where I can recognise 80% of the words you say, but still do not know what they specifically translate to. Though i do know many common phrases by heart, I also know which words are included in phrases, despite not knowing what they mean.
Thanks for opening up the subject a bit. It is hard to find videos or other media about the subject in real world. So many manga has at least one stereotypical delinquent, bosozoku or other rough dudes so it became no brainer that these subcultures do or did exist but information about it in English is sparse. Thank you also for including subtitles!
