I have continued the moisture container experiment on my NeedOne. Last time I put in half the level of water you did. Almost twice what I put in before. Before from 61% unit went to 65% and 67%. Then from 61% to 65% and 75%. At 75% humidimeter reading went to mis 60's. Finally unit had a few streaks of water left. 2 days still went to 74%. Then U put in some cigars and rearranged some. Unit went sown to 66% then 64% and finally 62%. Today's cigars tasted better than a few days ago read at 62% and 65% at the foot. 5 Vegas Classic and 5 Vegas Gold Aniverssary. Very good cigars.
I just purchased some water beads from Walmart! They are in my humidor now! Let’s see how it goes

First off, thanks for the video. Now onto the question. Have you ever had any mold issues using the beads and distilled water? I have read multiple complaints online about people finding that some of their beads turned black and get moldy. Thoughts?
I haven’t found/had mold in any of my humidors or beads since switching to this method. I would guess that the temperature was warmer in those humidors, but I’m not sure.
After pulling out the two cigar unit is still at 62%.
I am confident Hygrometer is accurate. Went up to 74% like in Half Wheel review with container half full. In the summer at 65° half full unit stayed at 65% for weeks. Not doing that anymore. At 67° it went to 75%. I assume a more seasoned cedar is the reason.

Hi Tim, thanks for the inspiration. I have a question about the placement of the orbeez container in the humidor. In the video, you place it on the top shelf. Does it make a difference if it is placed in the lower part of the humidor, in the middle or at the top? My question is also aimed at seasoning and storing cigars. And can this humidor distribute moisture evenly in all parts? Well thank you. Best regards, Eugene.
It can be placed anywhere really. I’ve tried all the shelves.

Thank you for checking out my video! Post seasoning I still use the orbeez, but only about half the amount and barely enough water to hydrate them. I leave the tray on the back ridge of the middle or top shelf. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Enjoy your cigar journey!
I have the King Chii 8L and my humidity is at 82 since I started seasoning Friday any suggestions
The humidor will jump up in humidity very quickly when you start to season it. Make sure that you pull out your humidification after it reaches five percentage points above where you want to maintain it at. It will come back down and normalize once you do that and put cigars in it to at least 60% capacity.
I'm new at this and bought the king chii model XJG-16C. it hold 100 cigars. The video was fantastic and very helpful to me. But I have one question. Did you replace the moisture beads back into the humidor? Do I need to keep the beads in the humidor all the time. 24/7.
Hey Tim (Great name!), I leave the beads in my humidors always and just rehydrate them as needed. I probably rehydrate them about every 3-5 weeks depending on the time of year. I hope this helps! Enjoy your journey!
How do you adjust the humidity?? What if your not happy with the humidity in the unit??
I wait longer to rehydrate to lower the Rh and use less water when rehydrating the beads, or use more water when rehydrating them to keep a higher Rh.
I bought a 50L humidor with a humidifier at the bottom of it. The water tank is about 1" high. Should I put distilled water in there, or can I fill it up with orbeez?
Asking because I always have a small puddle at the bottom of the humidor, with what I assumer is the condensation from the water.
The orbeez will hold on to water longer than it just sitting in a tray. I’d try the orbeez and see how it works out. If it isn’t any better or worst, than it’s just a matter of preference.
I ended up getting a junjeye 8l and think it’s a good entry level for me right now. However general question would be after seeing your informative video. Do you need to keep the beads in there? Are they reusable? Once seasoned for 24 hours does it maintain humidity? Also need links to that round hydrometer you displayed

I keep my beads in my humidors always even this the unit does better at holding humidity than a wooden humidor. Yes, the beads are reusable absolutely! 👍🏼

Will they be ready to smoke if stored inside the humidor in the plastic and the box covered in plastic?
Yes they will, but I’d recommend unwrapping the box if possible.

I use integra boost in my portable humidors and I keep the orbeez in with distilled water on all 5 of my electronic humidors.
Does it matter what size orbeez you use? The ones I have are larger.
I don't think it will matter much, just be sure not to have too many and over humidify your cigars.
