Easily one of my favorite cigar guys on this platform I’ve been smoking cigars for about 2 years now and my friends look at me as if I’m some kind of guru 😂 Little do they know majority of my knowledge comes from this channel. Keep up the stellar work brother!
I purchased this Needone 48L. I set the unit for 71 degrees and let it run for 24 hours. I have five Govee hygrometers that I then salt calibrated in the unit in an airtight sealed container. Did an ambient air temperature check with ThermoPro unit and the internal temperature is defiantly off a degree to a degree and a half. Just turn it up or down. easy fix. After 12 hours, I calibrated the hygrometers via Bluetooth to the correct temperature and humidity and left them for another 12 hours. (Wanted to make sure equipment was working correctly.) I then distributed the units from the top shelf to the bottom of the unit. After 12 hours..... wow. Hygrometers at the top were 5 degrees higher in temp and 4% lower in RH from the bottom of the unit. Not acceptable. I then did the fan mod (with the exact fan) and taped up the hole at the bottom. Still no cigars, but 84% Bovida packs (seasoning) on the door as you have done. WHAT A CHANGE! Within minutes things had leveled out. After 24 hours, I am so pleased to say that from the very bottom to the top shelf I have a 0.5 degree swing and a 0.6 RH% swing. DAMN GOOD STUFF............. Thanks
Great review. I picked up this same humidor about a month ago and have been pretty happy with it. Watched some of your other videos and saw how you had yours set up, and pretty much did the same. I have about 275 sticks in mine and did see a small variation in temp and humidity from top to bottom. I added the fan a couple of days ago, and it really did make a huge difference in air flow, and as a result evened out the temps and humidity within a degree and percentage point across all drawers. Keep up the good work.
Another great video! I think I've mentioned previously that I've totally copied your front glass Boveda mounting technique :) As you mention it's a good option to help with air flow when you've got all drawers. Also, glad you reminded me about condensation, I'm going to pull all my drawers out and check after I finish this post. ..... WRT the heating vs cooling unit, I 100% recommend going for the heating + cooling vs the cooling only. I originally started with the cooling only model, and ended up returning it. The issue is regardless of what you have the cooling only unit set to, it will not allow the temperature to higher than 2-4 degrees F _below_ the external ambient temperature. For example, If you set it at 70 and your house is 75, it's not an issue, it will hold 70. However, if your house is at 65, and the unit is set at 70, it will actively cool them to 2-4 degrees below 65, and so forth. I contacted NeedOne and they claimed it was by design and pointed me to some 'small print' plainly describing the effect. My theory is the cooling unit is identical to the heating + cooling unit _except_ without the heating element. I would bet even the firmware is identical, and that it just doesn't know that the heating unit isn't connected, and is still including it in its PID loop. (the 2-4 degree drop would make sense in this case) .... Unsurprisingly none of the NeedOne sponsored channels mention this rather important detail in their reviews, so it's a bit of a bellwether as to which reviewers are actually as unbiased as they claim to be :).
Yep! That’s the purpose of the drain plug actually. Shoulda mentioned this in the video but what happens is condensation builds up in the fan and it’ll drip straight down to the drain hole. If it’s dry on the back panel under the fan you’re likely good 👍
How did you supply power to the 40mm fan? Did you splice it and went directly into a USB port on the wall outlet? It comes with a 4-pin, just wondering how you changed it to get power. Thanks.
Love your channel and content 💪🏾. I previously had a “fridge type” cigar unit and got rid of it recently due to your channel and ideas of simply going with tupperdors. I have about 6 now and love them! Eventually, I will get humidor like this one but need it more to store my boxes. What are your thoughts of the 33L unit simply for storing purposes?
Really good review AJ! Damn I didn’t know about the drain plug leak! I’m gonna have to fix that. I wonder if the more expensive newair humidors are any better?
The drain plug has its use if condensation builds up and water starts dripping from the fan. But with Boveda and using it indoors there’s no need for it. Appreciate you bro 💯
Hey boss, great content. I had a question. I just got the Needone 23L heating and cooling humidor and I'm currently trying to season it but I keep having issues with condensation developing on the heatsink. My house is currently set 70-71 and the humidor is set at 68. Do you have any recommendations?
I am seasoning my needone 23 right now with boveda 84%. How high should i let humidity level go before i take the boveda packs out? I did tape drain hole since i will only boveda packs
Does your stock fan stop after it reaches temp? Mine does and it causes bad temp and RH differences from top to bottom. Thinking of adding the noctua fan
I’m looking to buy the fan you gave us a look at in the video. Can you give the details of what you had to buy to power it, and is it on a timer ect? I haven’t touched a pc fan in more than two decades, and never powered one with something other than a motherboard. I’ve found power supplies on Amazon but don’t know if i also need a speed controller ect. Please help me out bro.
@@sigmanado i bought the fan from your link, did you have to modify the drain hole? I don’t see how the cord from the fan could have passed through. Please help me out once again bro lol
I get it blocking up the drain hole to not let the humidity escape from the humidor. I did this on a wine fridge I converted into a humidor, it was cooling only. I blocked the drain hole on that and the problem I had was condensation would drip down the back during cooling and pool in the bottom and my humidor was always over humidified. Does condensation pool at the bottom of your since you plugged the drain hole and if so how do you manage the excess condensation?
Plugging the drain does create condensation and water pooling at the bottom. I tried it and in just 8 hours there was water collecting at the bottom of my unit. Plugging the drain is NOT the answer.
Pour some baking soda in a small bowl, put it in the empty humidor (without any shelves) and let it run for a couple days. That should get rid of most or all of the smell. This is what I did and it helped, but what really got rid of the smell was letting the aroma from the shelves and cigars take over.
To be fair, it looks like the built in hygrometer is reading exactly 11% below what your digital & boveda pack are reading. That's technically workable
You are lucky for now, wait a few more months. I bought one Nov 2022, and it broke down. Now it is extremely cold inside and humidity stays at 51%. waste of $560 CAD i paid for it. now the vendor won't help me with repairs, replacement, NOTHING!!! BEWARE before you buy this!!!
Finally an honest review, not just look it has a drawer and buttons and a door. Thank you for actually reviewing it not just describing it.

Nice collection. Ironically i was about the first 1/3rd into a amazon basin when i started this video. It is an excellent stick.
The best most complete review and nice life-hacks on this humidor. Thank you brother 🙏🏻

How long would you recommend seasoning this with the 84% Boveda packs? Also, if I set this to 70 degrees, would you go with 65 or 68 RH?

AJ how did you get the Noctua wire through that tiny hole? The plug doesn't pass through
Thanks for your honest review on this humidor. Sounds like this one isn't for me so I'll keep on looking
Glad it helped!

Very nice, great video. What are you going to do about the lighting?
It’s not an issue really since I have to pull out a drawer to choose a smoke anyway 💨

With bovedas on the door. How is that working. Was going to try that instead of just putting packs in draws. Good review
Works perfect 👌 could do either way too
Where did you get the extra drawers?
Plugging the drain causes instant condensation and water pooling at the bottom of the unit.
How do you connect the fan to power?
In his fan install video it's connected to a male USB plug which any wall adapter should power just fine.
Still need to know how you hook up the fan to power after running the cord thru the drain
To a USB outlet
Do you have a direct link for the Fan, I bought a 120mm 4 pin noctua and the connector didn’t fit through the drain hole
Yes it’s in the description 🤙
I have one of these in my cart right now, where do you get the drawers
Link in the description 👍
Does your stock fan stop after it reaches temp? Mine does and it causes bad temp and RH differences from top to bottom. Thinking of adding the noctua fan
No the cooler is always on

Sure thing bro, there’s a link in the description for that fan I’m running. It’s a usb powered fan, nothing else needed, and its constant on.
@@sigmanado ty bro. I appreciate ya

@@DJ-Art-Morris so you wanna pass the wire through and then connect the fan after. One side of the wire is small enough to fit
@@sigmanado oh lemme check that out. If that’s the case sorry to waste your time lol
The whole in the back is like a P-TRap add a small amount of distilled water to whole and it will seal the air flow.

👍Great vid, Someone give this man a Gar !!!

Every time he says poop , we drink !!
Kingchill sucks!!
Get a needone!
Don’t buy needone. Many of them come with a terrible plastic smell that doesn’t come out and will ruin your sticks…
Bought klarstein almost identical.. Had the plastic smell but bit of venting bit of scrubbing it soon goes. Great value humidors
I have the 48L and no smell. Maybe I got lucky..
I have the 48L, zero issues and smell.
This is after 4 months, just an fyi
Mine has zero smell. Set up just like he did. It's been awesome!!
Needone sucks stick with Kingchii probably made in same factory I’ve had better luck with the King
